« on: July 17, 2008, 02:53:15 PM »
Hey guys! I made another speedrun for Super Mario Galaxy. This one is on the Daredevil Comet for the Ghostly Galaxy, where you have to fight a boss named Bouldergeist without getting hit once. Enjoy!

Mario Chat / Mariopedia sprites
« on: July 10, 2008, 10:38:28 AM »
Hey, I was just wondering if I am allowed to take sprites from the Mariopedia and use them for another game. I won't take any unless I have permission. Thank you!

After reading a recent mailbag, one person was asking why Mario and friends were spared after Sammer's Kingdom fell victim to The Void. After not finding the answer before asking, the person considered it a plot hole. I have found some evidence that it isn't a plot hole. I'm not 100% sure about this right now, but if you directly quote what Merlon and Nolrem said, it gives you a little of an idea:

Nolrem: "At the Duel of the Hundred, the hero will meet with dark powers of purest chaos. If you fall to the Hundred, the chaos world grows and the Purity Heart fades. And as that happens, the hero will fall to the world where all games are ended."

According to Nolrem, we can conclude that Mario and friends have a 100% chance of getting this pure heart, because if he gets the pure heart before Sammer's Kingdom collapses, then he is victorious. At the same time, if he fails, the Pure Heart in that area fades (loses power) and Mario goes to where all games are ended, also known as The Underwhere. With our knowledge of the games future, we know that Queen Jaydes brings Mario back to Flipside and restores the Pure Heart's power. Simply put in storyline terms: Mario will get the Pure Heart.

Merlon (before you go into the door leading to Sammer's Kingdom for the first time): "When seeking the Pure Hearts in a world on destruction's brink, perseverance is key."

Apparently, Mario and friends have to never give up if they want the Pure Heart. With in-game knowledge of what happens after you enter the door, we know that Mario and friends tried as hard as they can to get the Pure Heart, even if it seemed impossible. Apparently, according to the Light Prognosticus, it is foretold that the hero WILL survive if he has this trait.

We know that Mario failed and retrieved the faded Pure Heart, but how did he get to The Underwhere after that? We thought the Light Prognosticus foretold the hero going to "the world where all games are ended." Something happened to get them where they need to go. Dimentio comes in and sends them to The Underwhere. But, if Mario is dead, how does he save all the worlds? That's where putting this all together comes in:

Before Sammer's Kingdom gets destroyed, Mario and friends were trying their hardest to get the Pure Heart. With their perseverance, they were supposed to survive the destruction, and get their hands on the faded Pure Heart. Mario and friends needed to get to The Underwhere when they were still alive, so someone was foretold to send them there by different means; in our case, Dimentio coming in and sending them there. Still being alive and having the faded Pure Heart revived after all of his time in The Underwhere, Mario can now continue to save the universe.

I know all of this isn't completely accurate, but it clears up the confusion of it simply being stated as a plot hole. Any help would be appreciated.

And for the question by the same person about the marriage of Peach and Bowser, it doesn't exactly say that the marriage was canceled, but at the same time it didn't say it was official. I think they realized that the marriage was fake, and was held only to use the Chaos Heart's power.

Hey guys. I'm back, and with another speedrun and an improved Super Smash Bros. Brawl Break the Targets record. This speedrun is that small section of "The Secret Underground Cave" star in Beach Bowl Galaxy. The time is roughly around 38 seconds. I hope you all enjoy it!

If you check the Super Paper Mario video on the Nintendo Channel, the sounds are a little different. Now, I'm NOT sure that it's a prototype or not, but if it is, then it's REALLY close to being finished. I also hypothesize that it may be a debug rom, where the creators can access any Level/Item/Pixl/Character they want at any time. My reason for this is because if you look closely at the score it shows in the video when he's at Chapter 5-3, you see that the score is 00000000. I beat a file at the lowest level possible and know that it is NOT possible to have that score at that point; you need to have beaten around 4-8 bosses. What do you guys think? I think it's a little suspicious, but I don't expect this too be taken too seriously. Even if we managed to get that prototype, it's not like there would be anything different besides sounds.

By the way, for those who were wondering what the lowest level you can beat the game at is, it's 6 :).

Mario Chat / Strange memory
« on: April 30, 2008, 09:10:57 PM »
Now that I think of it, a LONG time ago (10 years ago), I remember renting Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars for Super Nintendo from a local Royal Video.

The strange part was, in battle, I had Mario, a character I remember as Toad, but it might have been Mallow, and Peach lined up in a straight line behind one another. They took turns going, like in the final version, but all of them were more towards the middle of the screen rather than the bottom-left. Outside the battle was the ground of Peach's Castle, and the backround was black. I was on stairs on some high ground. On the low ground were a few HUGE bomb-ombs. I also remember being in the last place (forgot the name) with the screws that move if you jump on them, but it wasn't foggy. I forgot how I got to the boss, but the boss was 2 people that have skin similar to Mallow's. It took me forever to beat them so I shut the game off.

That's all I remember. Years later, however, I played it again, and it was completely different, even though I have never completed the old version I rented from Royal Video. What do you guys think? A possible prototype? I tried looking for it again a few years ago, but Royal Video got redesigned and no longer had any SNES games.

EDIT: The last place, you know, before you meet Smithy, looked EXACTLY like the one in the V-Jump 95 Presentation. Look at 1:39 in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YObbL5LwCJs

Mario Chat / Super Paper Mario Max Stats (May contain spoilers)
« on: April 08, 2008, 08:56:08 PM »

Finally! Look at all those hours! This is what my file looks like. I just got max stats today. If anyone can't see the image, the max stats are 999 HP, and 99 Attack for Mario, Luigi, and Peach, and 198 Attack for Bowser.

This is what it looks like when you use an HP Plus when you already have max! Notice the +0.

You probably already guessed...this is what it looks like when you use an Attack Plus when you already have max! Notice the +0.

If anyone can't see the last 2 pictures, they show how it normally looks when you use an Attack or HP Plus, but instead, it says "+0", and doesn't say that it increased.

Here is my YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-wYmhIGjjA
Sorry for the bad quality.

Here it is, the Max Score! I couldn't put it in the same picture as the max damage, sorry. For those who can't see, the max score is 99,999,999.

The max possible damage! Look at that 158,400 damage hit on the Amazy Dayzee! It probably died about 1,000 times from that! Done with max Attack (99/198 for Bowser), doubled attack from the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials, Thudley, 99 Amazy Dayzee cards, an Ice Storm to freeze the Amazy Dayzee in place, and temporary doubled attack from a Hot Sauce. Sorry about the other picture; I took it off because this one is the true max damage.

Here is my video for the max damage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDVpQ-yfzJE

My strategy is up! Good luck!

I don't know if the max stats should be put anywhere on the site, but if Deezer can find a place, that would be greatly appreciated! I also added this to the Super Paper Mario article on Wikipedia.org, so check that out too!

Mario Chat / Super Mario Galaxy Glitch?
« on: February 12, 2008, 09:47:49 PM »
In Super Mario Galaxy, if you do the long jump as Mario or Luigi, and you press Z on the nunchuck and do a spin by shaking the Wii Remote at the same exact time, you do a normal ground pound. The special, better pound is performed by spinning (shaking the Wii Remote) THEN doing a ground pound with Z, but that's not what this topic is about. I'm not sure about the normal ground pound being a glitch while you are doing the long jump, seeing as you can't normally pound when doing it, but I want your opinions on it. Is this a glitch? Yes or no? Feel free to post your opinion. You don't have to provide an explanation. Also, please tell me if you do not understand what I am saying.

Mario Chat / Super Paper Stat Question
« on: January 26, 2008, 07:16:17 PM »
Hey, I've been wondering what the max HP and max Attack you can get in Super Paper Mario is, because I'm going for max, and I hope it's not 999 in each. So, if you guys have any idea, feel free to post here. If you don't know, it's okay.

EDIT: Whoops! Forgot to put "Mario" in the title of this thread! Silly me!

Mario Chat / Beta versions
« on: January 05, 2008, 10:35:58 AM »
One day, I was in a Toys R' Us. This was before PMTTYD (Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door) came out. I saw someone playing PMTTYD there, and I noticed that there was tall grass in what looked like Petal Meadows. When you went in the grass, you can barely see yourself, and enemies were lurking in there. When I finally got the game and beat it, I remembered that version and tried to look for the tall grass area in the game. Unfortunately, I didn't find it, thus making me believe that the Toys R' Us version I saw was a beta/prototype.

Besides PMTTYD, I also picked up a GBA there. It had MALSSS (Mario and Luigi SuperStarSaga) in it. So, when I turn on the game, I appear in Stardust Fields, the first area in the game besides the Mushroom Kingdom. You know how there is a building separating the Mushroom Kingdom side from the Beanbean Kingdom side? Well, I was able to go into the building and appear on the other side without the guards making me play the jump rope game (forgot the name). I found it strange that I was able to go back to the Mushroom Kingdom side, because it wasn't possible in my copy of the game. Besides that, there was also no pipe on the ledge to the left when you first go into the Beanbean Kingdom side. Yet again, this led me to believe that this version was a beta/prototype.

If anyone here doesn't understand what I said or knows anything about these versions, please tell me.

Video Game Chat / Awards
« on: October 02, 2007, 08:18:15 AM »
So, do you think Nintendo games deserve awards? I don't really care about awards, but it sort of annoys me when I see Nintendo's effort and hard work not get an award while an FPS does. I also find Nintendo's games a lot more creative and fun than games like Grand Theft Auto.

Forum Games / The Reverse Sentence Game!
« on: August 01, 2007, 07:52:59 PM »
Hello and welcome to The Reverse Sentence Game! The rules are simple:
The first person types a sentence in reverse, then the next person must write the reverse sentence regularly, then write a regular sentence. The person after that writes the regular sentence backwords, then writes a backwords sentence! The sentences have to be relevant though.

Example:
Kimimaru: etirw
Someone else: write

              food
Another person: doof

                yrgna

I'll start: .klaw a no tnew uramimiK

Mario Chat / Mario Sports Games
« on: June 12, 2007, 09:33:57 AM »
Hello! I'm just wondering what people think about Mario sports games. Sorry if this was already posted, but I have never seen any others. I personally think that they're probably the best sports titles because of match twists and items. I'm not going to vote because I made this poll for you guys. Enjoy!
