Site Discussion / Re: The 12 Days of Deezer
« on: November 28, 2006, 05:06:13 PM »
Bird Person: Ha ha ha!  That's... uh... really something.  No!  It's simply unbewiivable!  I wish you good luck with finding some grea Christmas dukar.

Robert: Hey maybe we could try that.  It could be fun to switch verses around with new ideas if we did more than one verse. *imagines listening to all 12 verses on WTMK and loses his Christmas cookies*

Deezer: Woah.  Talk about doing things the hard way! XD Impressive.

Mr.Melee: Thank you!  I also think it's time for a new TMK holiday treat.  "A power star in a painting"  That's good too.

The thing I'm aiming for in this song is not trying to be accurate with the # of things in games, but just trying to make the words sound close to the original song (like how I rhymed partridge with cartridge and tree with 3) and perhaps with nearly the same number of syllables .  That's just my thought though and anyone can do whatever they want.  Ooh, new inspiration!  We could do something in l33t! XD

Deezer the Snowman... a proud tribute to our grand leader in an unforgettable Christmas parody tune by the funny and brilliant mastermind, Lizard Dude.  This December I think we should have another holiday song, and now you can contribute to it! *desperately prays that this isn't a really stupid idea*

The song is "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and there's three things that people can do here (but no one has to do all of them).  First, people can make up verses to the song that are related to Mario or TMK. (I have an idea for the first day)  Other Christmas parodies are welcome too.

Second, those with microphones could record themselves singing a few of their favorite parts (days) and then someone can combine together at the end into one big, weird song!  If we don't have 12 people to sing the 12 verses, we could split them up evenly with 6 people singing 2 verses, 3 doing 4, etc.  We don't have to go through the whole song, but we can just cover the last verse and go over the twelve days.

Here's an example:

On the first day of Christmas, the Deezer gave to me... a cartridge of Mario 3 (OR) a butt-kickin' Nintendo Wii (Yoshisaurus Rex)
Second day... two turtle shells (YR)
Third day...
Fourth day...
Fifth day...
Sixth day...
Seventh day...
Eighth day...
Ninth day...
Tenth day...
Eleventh day...
Twelth day...

If no one wants to give it a shot, then I guess we'll just have to force LD do the whole thing. :)  Have fun and merry Christmas!
(Wow, I never have normal ideas!)

Because I don't have either in my little town and I rarely get to go the nearest Wal-Mart, much less GameStop. (Yes, I'm sick of broken controllers too.  There should be a law to fix those things.)  But I'm happy for everyone who can.

@_@ Is that a joke?  Why do you have to give them all that stuff?  I might give them an empty wallet and an extra set of keys but...

Area 64: I thought of that too.  However, my Hotmail is good at handling spam and getting rid of it (most of it >_>) so it's worth the risk for me.  As long as they're not calling me I'm happy!

Oh no.  I predicted this would happen. http://www.mywii.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=60 :(

Woooooooooooooooooooooot-ology!  I love Christmas music (but not too much of the really popular songs I've heard too much)  What kind do you like?  Today in church one of my friends, a teen girl, sang "O Come, Emmanuel" while her dad played the piano and sang along.  They sounded really great.  It's been awhile since I heard that.

"Oh, we are the Buddy Bears!  We always get along!"

Robert: LOL!  Maybe it's about Waldo's son who is trying to find out where he is in Africa because... he got lost there or something.  Whatever they do with that movie, I'll bet that Waldo is hiding in the credits.

YSR, I applaud you for your contribution. That was truly memorable and touching Pointlessness (yes, Pointless shall always be capitalized where necessary, but necessary is not necessary here, so eat toast).

Thanks, Mr. Melee.  It's not much but I'm doing the best I can. (Frogive me, but I just had to bring it back one more time ^_^;)

Oh, we are the Buddy Bears!  We always get along!

I'd like to, but my internet is currently discombobulated.

I think this whole thing is kind of funny in a way, lame or not. :)

'Supper!  Yay!

"dna"?

DNA, or Darn Not Again, are the basic tetris blocks of life.  They are made up of 4 complementary bases: Firstbase, Tenorbase, Acidbase, Baseball, and Allyourbase.  528 + 179 = LOL.  457 + 351 = Bob.  There is no spoon.  If you give a boy a Nintendo... he'll probably want a Mario game to go with it.  I am too foolish for my pants.  Do you has?  I am the very model of a modern Mario maniac.  Do you got a mullet goin' on?  Thank you, but our Deezer is in another website.  Beware the Jabberwocky, son.  Can ya dig it?  This statement is not true, and it's not very funny either.  If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around... do the woods even exist?  "And let us run with patience the level that is set before us.  Taking every power-up captive."  Not only is the glass half empty, I bet the water doesn?t even taste that good.  It?s probably unsanitary or maybe even poisonous.  And who made this glass anyway?  It?s just so cheap and not that nice to look at.  Ctrl + Alt + down.  Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination.  And when he's tall he's what we call a dinosaur sensation.  K-k-k-k-k-k... brrrrrrrrrrrrrr... beep beep beep... everyone d-d-d-do the Mario now!  The secret page is hidden in the forrest of Gah and guarded by an evil t-t-t-troll with a diamond on it's belly.  At the JCPenney's 1-month only sale you'll find everything you need to make you look... ger-wah-wah-wah-wah... neeeeeeeeeeeoooooooohwaaaaaaah... *loud crackling noise* *loud screeching nloise* *loud belching noise* *everything messes up*........... Brain [Not responding].  Bl0\/\/'d uP.

Oh.  I only heard it and never saw the spelling before. XD

Yeah, I guess it is too late to do it.  I never thought it could be illegal but... maybe it is.  Sorry to waste your time.  "Stick it to the Man!"

(Probably no one! XD) I know this is probably not the best idea, and it's probably too late to try, and the odds are just plain terrible... but I want to give this hair-brained scheme a shot anyway. If we work together, someone could win a new Wii to either keep or sell on Ebay for $250 or more. Wow, I could go for that. Here's my plan:

Gamefly is having a contest where they give away one Nintendo Wii each day from now until the end of November (see why I probably started this too late? :( ). It's very simple to play and doesn't cost any money. People go the site, enter their name, e-mail, home address, and age, and then submit the information to attempt to win. Only 1 person each day will win and you only have one try each day. The way it works is that the first person to enter their information during or after the randomly selected time will be the winner of that day.

Now maybe you have an idea where I'm taking this. I think that if we all work together on this we just might have a less-than-horrible chance to actually win. All we have to do is plan on what time span we'll enter the information each day to increase our odds (i.e. from 12:00 - 12:30 pm) and the more people who join, the greater the chance.

I usually do this each day around 9 am, and you could select any time before or after that which works best for you, and each following person to join can choose a time that hasn't been chosen yet. I'm sorry that I didn't think of this sooner but maybe it's not too late. I think this would be a fun idea.

You probably know that the Wii is very high in demand and low in supply. That's why if you don't want it you could sell it on Ebay or something for much over it's price of $250! I wanted to do that myself to earn money for college, and you could do something like that too.

The website is listed below and so is the list of people and their selected times. If no one wants to try it, that's fine. I wish you all a belated happy Thanksgiving and good luck whatever you're doing!

Video Game Chat / Re: Countdown to Wii

Wal*Mart should let people sleep in the camping section!  And then wake everyone up at midnight over the speakers. "Attention, fanatical customers... WII GOT 'EM!!!!" XD

I anticipate hearing about your stories about camping in front of stores and stuff.  I've never done that before but strangely part of me has always wanted to.  What if... there was like a huge crowd of people waiting at stores across America and then at midnight it was just ultimate chaos?  Mwuhaha!  Wait, then someone might get trampled and we don't want that.  They would have to go to the trauma center.

I hope that all of you can get your Wiis!  This week is taking forever and I'm not even getting this.

Alright!  Someone besides me is having a countdown.  It stinks when only one of your friends from church/school seems to be excited about this.  I have a great plan next month.  My friend is going to buy a Wii and then go on vacation near the end of December.  He said I could borrow it then and that will be the perfect time because I get Christmas break from college work until Janurary.  Even better, I'm going to get a free 30-day trial of Gamefly from Kellogs so I can rent more games while I'm renting the system!  "It's brilliant, I say!  Brilliant!"

Don't worry, the only reason people are camping out is because there are only leik 25 PS3's per store.
Sony is so selfish. USA only gets 400,000 PS3s, compared to 1,000,000 Wiis in USA.

EDIT: New info - you may not have to reserve your Wii after all. A new study shows these results:
40% want a PS3
25% want an Xbox 360
22% want a Nintendo Wii
13% would rather have none

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It's a bad thing that Nintendo is losing its popularity, but it's a good thing that we can actually get a Wii.

Maybe once the Wii arrives in stores and IF the stores put them on display (mine probably won't :( ), kids will start buying them like chocolate hotcakes.  Then their friends will see them playing it, and have to get their own.  Then the me-wanty fever will begin. ^_^

Speaking of the campers, I just saw a story of that on the news.  Someone said he trade giving his family gifts so he could get this!  People have such messed-up priorities!  It makes me sick.

Does anyone know when Nintendo will drop their price if they will?  Do they only do that if sales aren't great?

The controls were backwards?!?!  Oh no... so that's why I had so much trouble playing it at first. (Jump with B?  What now?!) But, yeah I still love the games that way.  They should have let players adjust those things though. >_> *hums MM2 music*

CW: Yeah, I wish I would have tried more variety of games as a kid.  I didn't play a single Mega Man game until I got Mega Man Anniversary Collection for my brithday.  After I got used to the difficulty and understood the whole point, it was love at fourth or fifth sight.

Now, I don't have much time for video games and I'm trying to focus on my future and goals.  But the nostalgia will always live on!
