You just hate Mexicans don't you.

On the subject of bad fightan game VAs, Captain America's newest voice actor in Marvel vs Capcom 3 is abysmal. Considering how they managed to get Josh Keaton and Steve Blum to reprise their roles as Spidey and Logan, how hard could it have been to get David Hayter, Justin Gross, or Brian Bloom to voice him again?

In a similar vein, there is Mignon Beart from Maximum Impact. I can tolerate the MI dub voices because most of them still ooze of that classic SNK cheese I like, but Mignon's VA clearly tried to pander to her moe appeal. But it doesn't work here when she's a filler character with very few practical uses.

Also, NoA saw fit to have some porn actor voice Mia in Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. There wasn't a lot of voice work in that game, but that's still no excuse to make the Greil Mercenaries sound so lifeless. Mia just happened to get stuck with the most appalling, unfitting voice in the game. I'm talking Bible Black-bad levels here, and she only had like 3 lines.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

Somehow I don't find Japanese characters (i.e. most of the cast of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom) having Japanese voices to be a problem. Especially when most of them were never given proper English voices in their original medium in the first place.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this. Also, Hulk's voice sounds slightly off to me during his special moves. It sounds more like gargling than growling.

I just remembered how annoying Sig (from the modern Puyo Puyo games, but not the one that came out here) is. It got worse when I started playing a version of Puyo Puyo 7 with full voiceovers for the story segments. Also Arle's voice in the US version of Fever.

Oh, and it turns out Castle of Shikigami III (the naming scheme for the US versions of these games is all over the place because all three of them had different publishers) has terrible voices too. But it has the same options for story segments and voices as its predecessor, and some of the voice clips are pretty funny anyway; for example, when you defeat the stage one boss, she yells "YOU SUCK!" as she disappears.

My problem is that neither of them sound Spanish...at all.

So are you implying that Vega does sound Spanish? Does Chun Li sound Chinese? Does Sagat sound Thai?

Point taken, but I still find them annoying.

I'll give you T. Hawk, but El Fuerte's voice sounds convincing enough. Granted, its a voice that borders on a racist stereotype, but still.

and Vega's voice is sexy as hell.

Vega ... Spanish ... Chun Li ... Chinese ... Sagat ... Thai
On a similar note, and I've been saying this pretty much ever since the situation with the language toggle for Marvel vs. Capcom 3's voices was revealed (and should've been saying it more ever since hearing Punch-Out!! do something similar with great effect), it would be awesome for non-Japanese non-English characters like those mentioned above to have their native languages as a voice option in these newer games.

*thinks about playing as Zangief in his native Russian tongue

Yeah, that would be totally awesome.

Credits say that is Brian Bloom.

Haha, those are terrible!

This should set off a few people here:

"Got it memorized?"

"Got it memorized?"

Quinton Flynn is fairly annoying in Metal Gear Solid 2 as well.

but death is life and so we move on"
