Dear Mario fans: I know this may be a very stupid question but why did Bowser join Mario's group in Mario RPG just to get his castle back? But even though he had hidden motives, if he was REALLY evil he would have found some other way. For example, if I were to compare Ganon to Bowser, Ganon would definitely win the EVIL award. I know Bowser is evil at times, but at other times he seems a bit confused. Whereas, Ganon knows what he wants and how to get it. I would say that Ganon is 100% EVIL, while Bowser is 95% EVIL and 5% confused or good. Please let me know what you all think. No flaming wars because we are all responsible gamers. (I am taking the risk of assuming this...) Peace to all:)

I personally don't think Bowser's evil at all, I think he's being maniplated by his Magikoopa guardians. I even wrote a fanfic about my little theory. But at any rate, I agree with you PF, he doesn't seem hardcore evil like other villains.

Most of the comics and SMW2 have us assume that Bowser's parents died when he was very young. This, combined with the fact that he's a complete failure, has warped his mind in such a very strange way. He's just a lonely, sad, big, and misunderstood person, just trying to find some happiness in his life.

He's "evil" in the same way Wario's "evil"--just selfish, to the exclusion of all else. I mean, he doesn't go out of his way to hurt Peach (he treats her very nicely in PM and most other times) or even Mario, unless Mario's in the way of something he wants. In PM he has the ability to grant all his wishes, and despite this he doesn't end up hurting anyone--he doesn't wish to. He's full of himself, and greedy, but not malicious.

Weird, Pyrasaur . . . I read and replied to this topic, clicked out of it (forgetting all about your fic) and headed to FF.net to find some really horrid stuff to torture my best friend with (it's a thing we do). While I was there I clicked on something I figured was smut, but wasn't, and was really very good . . . your fic's not called "Unchained Memory" is it? It has the plot you described. If so, kudos! ^^

In some strange, unprecidented way, I believe Bowser is just as evil as Eminem [the white rapper who has all of these hate lyrics in his songs]. Eminem led a tortured life, with parents who almost neglected him--causing him to hold back all of this anger and resentment.

Bowser is the same way, but with a more humane approach. Bowser has never had the desire to mistreat anyone except the people who get in the way of what he wants [Mario, the Mushroom Kingdom inhabitants, etc.]. Bowser is simply greedy and selfish, just like Wario.

I'm pretty sure Eminem didn't lead a tortured life because his mother sued him because she really didn't neglect him or anything. Bowser is probably like Wario, in the fact that he is kind of high on himself and greedy and will not stop for anything to get what he wants, which is princess toadstool.

Bowser is too STUPID to be pure evil. In my opinion, you need 4 things to be pure evil:

1. greed
2. hatred
3. lack of concience
4. INTELLIGENCE (evil kind)

Bowser is quite dumb if you ask me. I mean, In SMB1, he leaves an AXE on the other end of the bridge, then doesn't bother to chop the bridge himself when Mario comes.

In SM64, Bowser actually TELLS Mario how to beat him.

Think about it, he is far too dumb to be truly evil.

Eminem is a tortured soul because his parents ALMOST NEGLECTED him? Bwahahaha! Sorry. It's just I don't understand how you can be almost neglected. "Well, Marshall, we WILL take you to the ice cream parlor today . . . just know, we seriously considered not doing it for a minute there." "I hate you! I hate you all! Especially queers!"

Pyrasaur, I think I thought it was smut because of what I searched for, which was Mario slash. I wanted to torture her with a Bowser/Mario fic . . . I've no idea why your fic popped up, FF.net is weird.

(By the way, what I ended up finding were two awful, graphic, PWP, OOC, Yoshi slashfics. Not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach.)

Well, it was in retaliation for her sending me to a site with Japanese adult toys. And she got me back with Whose Line is it Anyway? slash and Ed Edd n Eddy slash, so she can hold her own. ^^

Well, I only read it because . . . my friend sent it to me . . . yes. But I will never, EVER, be able to play as Peach in SSBM again. And if I do, buggered if I'm picking up any Super Mushrooms.
