When the baby gets older, you could buy the games for her. ;)

Meh, I doubt it.
Remember that your first Goomba boldly you walk? When Mario touched that mushroom being brought up more largely remember that you are surprised? Miscalculate your jump that pit remember that it falls?

Wow! I just got the fasted reply ever from NOA. It wasn't the answer I'd hoped for though:

Quote
Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

At this time, we have not announced a rewards program similar to the one in Japan. However, I will forward your interest in this matter to the appropriate departments for further review.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.
Dervin Camden

Edit:  Though I noticed Dervin didn't rule it out, "At this time, we have not announced".  Hmmm.  Could that imply that they may very well annouce a program in the future?

Don't forget to teach Hannah the SMB theme song! And by teach I mean to play classic SMB now and then, and make the baby listen, and when she finally plays her first mario game, she'll lsten to the song and remeber about it!

PS: huh, there is a mexician Nintendo magazine called Club Nintendo, it's like Mexico's Nintendo Power.

I hope so. That'd be cool. I haven't registered much, though. A few systems and a few games. But I have more than that. I can't register them, though.

While free goodies would be nice, the reward is self-contained.
Today's actually... nobody's birthday!  Quick, hurry up and make a baby!

Luigison, how many of those codes did you get without personally owning the game or system ever? Or did you really buy them all through some means?

Hmmm. Going through the list I count eleven that were aquired during my time working for Game Stop.  I think it's sad that they don't sell GBA games with boxes and that most people trading games in don't care if you throw away the box, manual, code, etc.  Even after telling people they could register the games and possibly get stuff, no one ever kept the box or papers.  Call me a thief of a trash digger if you will, but I have no use for all those Pokemon videos and don't mind taking the codes out of the trash.

Also, a few of the things were either prizes from Nintendo, Nintendo Power, etc, or were gave to me.  For example, Nintendo sent me a free copy of Brain Age and the Game Stop manager offered me the store display GBA micro after it's battery had died and the charger couldn't be found.  I didn't take the micro, but got the code.

I also traded in a lot of the games I didn't like/want: all the Mario Party, Hamtaro, and Pokemon games (except for Emerald).  Most of the games I bought new, but some of them I got used if they had a code sheet.  Every used game I got had a working code.  I guess most people that trade in games don't register them.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a world today where registration really won't give you any perks except limited warranties.

I've registered almost everything I own--my TV, laptop, refrigerator, VCR, computer programs...but I've never gotten anything back from that. Just some letters saying my warranties are about to expire. I do get catalogs in the mail from Sony (I registered a camcorder, TV, and DVD player from them) but no perks (like free DVDs, camcorder tape, free computer software upgrades, etc).

The only thing I ever got rewards on was a computer book we had back in the day with my old computer. It was called "Macintosh Bible" and you got an update in the mail every now and then. I still have this book sitting arond somewhere.

Back in the day my grandpa had a laptop and got two floppy disks just from registering it. This was almost 20 years ago though.

And speaking of which, you used to get coupons for businesses when you got your gas credit card bill years ago. This stopped around 1992-1993. My mom had a Boron card (it got bought out by BP in 1991, I think Boron was a PA thing; in Ohio they owned stations called Sohio).

Rewards can come from registering Nintendo games. For example, If you register enough games and/or systems, you can get three free issues of Nintendo Power!
