Try it:  http://maps.google.com/

My favorite example:  http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=new+york&daddr=japan&hl=en&sll=34.887365,-147.87907&sspn=108.566433,270.527344&geocode=FXFAbQIdK8KW-yk7CD_TpU_CiTFi_nfhBo8LyA%3BFRhxKAIdfJI9CCkvGX_XD05nNDFEUmZ81HVC9Q&t=8&dirflg=d&mra=prev&z=3

Checkout step 35 above.
