General Chat / Re: What Is Up With These Ads?
« on: May 01, 2016, 01:13:16 AM »
Clash of Cuties is one of the many mobile games I've tried where I played and uninstalled the game in less time than it took to download it.

Most notably, none of the artwork in that ad (which is significantly worse than any of the other ads I've seen for the game, which have all just been ordinary mobile game ads showing a little bit of gameplay and some stills of character portraits to show off the fact that the game has cute anime girls) is related to the game itself (which is an incredibly generic autobattle RPG)!

The Chef has the right idea. Cloud is the Final Fantasy character; if you asked a hundred people which series protagonist was their favorite, you'd get a handful of responses each for Cecil, Terra, Squall, and Tidus, with the majority of the responses being Cloud. Picking another Final Fantasy character for a crossover fighter would be like picking Raiden instead of Solid Snake or DmC Dante instead of classic Devil May Cry Dante.

Mario Chat / Re: Super Mario Maker

See you guys when the Monster Musume skins arrive.
That might actually get me to buy Super Mario Maker, though. That series is well above your average harem series, unlike, say, Nisekoi (which is also significantly more popular than you make it out to be, being a very successful Weekly Shonen Jump serial and all).

(Actually, it wouldn't get me to buy the game anyway. There's a kernel of truth to our banned friend's inflammatory comment above; while it has nothing to do with programming experience, making level design tools available to a wide audience makes a strong case for Sturgeon coming in a bit on the low side.)

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon and Pokémon Picross are the only interesting Pokémon things on the way this year.

I played through Undertale over the past day. Mostly I'm sad I don't have more Undertale to play now, unless I take up the suggestion of a genocide run, which sounds like the most painful thing.

Yeah, my answer is definitely PC, with my phone coming in second. Funny how much better the system UI is on devices where you're going to see the system UI 90% of the time!

The game relies entirely on user-generated content, so being on a device without constant Internet access would take away most of its draw. Remember, it's not "let's make some cool Mario levels," it's "let's make some cool Mario levels, share them with the rest of the world, and play other people's levels."
