It may not cover all the bases, but I remembered today how Bernard is dressed like Mario for the first scene or two of the Rescuers.

Bernard was a little heavyset, I suppose (he at least wasn't meant to seem skinny), and he had facial hair, in a sense (he's a mouse), and I'm pretty sure he had a hat in the first movie, and he made children smile. I'd say he counts.

None that I am aware of.   But if you were wondering which design he resembles the closest, my guess would be SSBM.
