When I'm alone
I dream on the horizon
And words fail;
Yes, I know there is no light
In a room
Where the sun is not there
If you are not with me.
At the windows
Show everyone my heart
Which you set alight;
Enclose within me
The light you
Encountered on the street.

Time to say goodbye,
To countries I never
Saw and shared with you,
Now, yes, I shall experience them,
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer;
With you I shall experience them.

When you are far away
I dream on the horizon
And words fail,
And yes, I know
That you are with me;
You, my moon, are here with me,
My sun, you are here with me.
With me, with me, with me,

Time to say goodbye,
To countries I never
Saw and shared with you,
Now, yes, I shall experience them,
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer;
With you I shall reexperience them.
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer;
With you I shall reexperience them.
I'll go with you,
I with you.

I'm not all that sure these are the right lyrics (for the English version) but I'd just like to say that was an awesome scene in Wanted (and, alternatively, Stepbrothers. As I may have mentioned, I watched both consecutively).

Once I thought I saw you in a crowded hazy bar,
Dancing on the light from star to star.
Far across the moonbeam I know thats who you are,
I saw your brown eyes turning once to fire.

You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eyes.
And I'm getting blown away
To somewhere safer where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but Im getting blown away.

I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream,
You could have been anyone to me.
Before that moment you touched my lips
That perfect feeling when time just slips
Away between us on our foggy trip.

You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eyes.
And I'm getting blown away
To somewhere safer where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but I'm getting blown away.

You are just a dreamer, and I am just a dream.
You could have been anyone to me.
Before that moment you touched my lips
That perfect feeling when time just slips
Away between us on our foggy trip

You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eyes.
And I'm getting blown away
To somewhere safer where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but I'm getting blown away.

Another metaphor-laden masterpiece from Canadia's premiere rock songwriter. Oh yes indeedy.

This week the trend
Was to not wake up til 3 pm;
I picked the few conscious hours that I chose to spend,
Slept away the rest of them.

And this week the trend
Was to crash and burn and then return again
To practice the life that I pretend
Provides enough to get me through the weekend

So I said,
Give me a solution
And watch me run with it.
Then you gave,
Gave me a solution,
What have I done with it?
Cause I was absolutely sure I had it all figured out
Way back then,
And now it's this minute, this hour, this day,

And this week the trend
Was to backstab every single one of my friends
And leave a voicemail message trying to make amends,
All the while hoping this would count in the end,

And this week the trend
Was to borrow all the strength that you could lend,
To keep my head above the water and not descend
Back to where I said I'd never go again.

So I said,
Give me a solution
And watch me run with it.
Then you gave,
Gave me a solution,
What have I done with it?
Cause I was absolutely sure I had it all figured out
Way back then,
But after this day it's this week all over again

And I just want to get mugged at knifepoint
To get cut enough to wake me up,
Cause I know that I don't want to die
Sitting around watching my life go by.
What we take from this is what we'll get,
And we haven't quite figured it out just yet,
Cause all of us are all too stuck.
Strapped to a chair watching our lives blow up.
Stuck watching our lives blow up.

It's only two o'clock
And the temperature's beginning to soar
And all around the city
You see the walking wounded and the living dead
It's never been this hot and I've never been so bored
And breathing is just no fun anymore
Then I saw you like a summer dream
And you're the answer to every prayer that I ever said
I saw you like a summer dream
And you're the answer to every prayer that I ever said

You can feel the pulse of the pavement
Racing like a runaway horse
The subways are steaming
And the skin of the streets is gleaming with sweat
I've seen you sitting on the steps outside
And you were looking so restless and reckless and lost
I think it's time for you to come inside
I'll be waiting here with something that you'll never forget
I think it's time for you to come inside
I'll be waiting here with something that you'll never forget

Come on, come on and there'll be no turning back
You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back
Come on, come on, it's time to burn up the fuse
You got nothing to do and even less to lose
You got nothing to do and even less to lose

So wander down to the ancient hallway,
Taking the stairs only one at a time
Follow the sound of my heartbeat now
I'm in the room at the top,
You're at the end of the line
So open the door and lay down on the bed,
The sun is just a ball of desire

And I wanna take you out of the frying pan
And into the fire
Out of the frying pan and into the fire
Out of the frying pan and into the fire

And I wanna take you out of the frying pan
And into the fire
Out of the frying pan and into the fire
Out of the frying pan and into the fire

And into the fire, fire, fire,
And into the fire, fire, fire
And into the fire, fire, fire,
And into the fire

It's only two o'clock
And the temperature's beginning to soar
And all around the city
You see the walking wounded and the living dead
It's never been this hot and I've never been so bored
And breathing is just no fun anymore
Then I saw you like a summer dream
And you're the answer to every prayer that I ever said
I saw you like a summer dream
And you're the answer to every prayer that I ever said

And into the, and into the, and into the
And into the fire, fire, fire,
And into the fire, fire, fire
And into the fire, fire, fire,
And into the fire

And into the fire, fire, fire,
And into the fire, fire, fire
And into the fire

All the angels, see all the angles
With a view from both sides of the line
Well if I had not such a blind spot
Would I have a less difficult time

Surrendering my ways
I would hang on every word You say

I'm so far from what I wanna be
Oh I really am my own worst enemy
Please don't let me get the better of me
Take this earthly thing and make it finally
Something heavenly, I wanna be heavenly

Air is cleaner, grass is always greener
For the crowd of hosts up where they are
If I could visit, I'd just contaminate it
Why so big a place for me in Your heart?

To leave your glory home
Just to make a broken man your own

If I try to soar, I will fall for sure
So let Your grace break through, and lift me up upon it to be with You

I'm so far from what I wanna be
Oh I really am my own worst enemy
Please don't let me get the better of me
Take this earthly thing and make it finally

Cuz I'm so far, stay close to me
I'm so far, stay close to me
Making me something heavenly
Gonna be heavenly

This song is from a Canadian Christian rock band called Downhere. Anyone heard of them by any chance?
"Follow me down to the valley below You know
Moonlight is bleeding from out of your soul Come to us, Lazarus It's time for you to go"

Being an American Secularist, I'm afraid I haven't.

This is the first day of my last days
I built it up now I take it apart
Climbed up real high now fall down real far
No need for me to stay
The last thing left I just threw it away
I put my faith in God and my trust in you
Now there's nothing more ****ed up I could do
Wish there was something real
Wish there was something true
Wish there was something real in this world full of you
I'm the one without a soul
I'm the one with this big ****ing hole
No new tale to tell
Twenty-six years on my way to hell
Gotta listen to your big time
Hard line
Bad luck
Fist ****
Don't think you're having all the fun
You know me I hate everyone
Wish there was something real
Wish there was something true
Wish there was something real in this world full of you
I want to but I can't turn back
But I want to

The name sounds familiar. I think I might have one of their songs on a compilation album.

A seasoned witch could call you from the depths of your disgrace,
And rearrange your liver to the solid mental grace,
And achieve it all with music that came quickly from afar,
Then taste the fruit of man recorded losing all against the hour.
And assessing points to nowhere, leading every single one.
A dewdrop can exalt us like the music of the sun,
And take away the plain in which we move,
And choose the course you're running.

Down at the edge, round by the corner,
Not right away, not right away.
Close to the edge, down by a river,
Not right away, not right away.

Crossed the line around the changes of the summer,
Reaching out to call the color of the sky.
Passed around a moment clothed in mornings faster than we see.
Getting over all the time I had to worry,
Leaving all the changes far from far behind.
We relieve the tension only to find out the masters name.

Down at the end, round by the corner.
Close to the edge, just by a river.
Seasons will pass you by.
I get up, I get down.
Now that its all over and done,
Now that you find, now that you're whole.

My eyes convinced, eclipsed with the younger moon attained with love.
It changed as almost strained amidst clear manna from above.
I crucified my hate and held the word within my hand.
There's you, the time, the logic, or the reasons we don't understand.

Sad courage claimed the victims standing still for all to see,
As armored movers took approached to overlook the sea.
There since the cord, the license, or the reasons we understood will be.

Down at the edge, close by a river.
Close to the edge, round by the corner.
Close to the end, down by the corner.
Down at the edge, round by the river.

Sudden problems shouldnt take away the startled memory.
All in all, the journey takes you all the way.
As apart from any reality that youve ever seen and known.
Guessing problems only to deceive the mention,
Passing paths that climb halfway into the void.
As we cross from side to side, we hear the total mass retain.

Down at the edge, round by the corner.
Close to the end, down by a river.
Seasons will pass you by.
I get up, I get down.

In her white lace, you could clearly see the lady sadly looking.
Saying that shed take the blame
For the crucifixion of her own domain. I get up,
I get down,
I get up,
I get down.

Two million people barely satisfy.
Two hundred women watch one woman cry, too late.
The eyes of honesty can achieve.
How many millions do we deceive each day?
I get up, I get down.
I get up, I get down.

In charge of who is there in charge of me.
Do I look on blindly and say I see the way?
The truth is written all along the page.
How old will I be before I come of age for you?
I get up, I get down.
I get up, I get down.
I get up, I get down.

The time between the notes relates the color to the scenes.
A constant vogue of triumphs dislocate man, it seems.
And space between the focus shape ascend knowledge of love.
As song and chance develop time, lost social temperance rules above.
Ah, ah.

Then according to the man who showed his outstretched arm to space,
He turned around and pointed, revealing all the human race.
I shook my head and smiled a whisper, knowing all about the place.
On the hill we viewed the silence of the valley,
Called to witness cycles only of the past.
And we reach all this with movements in between the said remark.

Close to the edge, down by the river.
Down at the end, round by the corner.
Seasons will pass you by,
Now that its all over and done,
Called to the seed, right to the sun.
Now that you find, now that you're whole.
Seasons will pass you by,
I get up, I get down.
I get up, I get down.
I get up, I get down.
I get up.

We all go down for the sacrificial moment
Crucifixion nails stain the bed of the holy.
Space thing blues diamond studded--sugar coated
Well, I am hell a miracle overloading

Turn me on, yeah
Electric head all over
Turn me on, yeah
Electric head all over

We all go down for the God of the moment
Super demon seed running wild and below and
Head trip news turn a trick to the flow and
Sugarland express what you know and

Get inside get in there
Evil in your eyes baby I don't care
Get inside get in there
See the flesh falling everywhere

Turn me on, yeah
Electric head all over
Turn me on, yeah
Electric head all over

Get inside get in there
Evil in your eyes baby I don't care
Get inside get in there
See the flesh falling everywhere

Turn me on, yeah
Electric head all over
Turn me on, yeah
Electric head all over

We all go down for a piece of the moment
Watch another burn to the death to the core
And the road-show thrills pack the freaks and the phonies
Sing: Now is now, yeah
All I ever wanted

Turn me on, yeah
Electric head all over
Turn me on, yeah
Electric head all over

Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin' high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
"We'll meet on edges, soon," said I
Proud 'neath heated brow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not I'd become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My existence led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Bonus points if you can identify the song and artist without leaving this page.

If no one read this thread, I wouldn'tve had a few of my lyrics censored and one removed.

Come on!
Unh!

Come on, although ya try to discredit
Ya still never edit
The needle, I'll thread it
Radically poetic
Standin' with the fury that they had in '66
And like E-Double I'm mad
Still knee-deep in the system's [dukar]
Hoover, he was a body remover
I'll give ya a dose
But it'll never come close
To the rage built up inside of me
Fist in the air, in the land of hypocrisy

Movements come and movements go
Leaders speak, movements cease
When their heads are flown
'Cause all these punks
Got bullets in their heads
Departments of police, the judges, the feds
Networks at work, keepin' people calm
You know they went after King
When he spoke out on Vietnam
He turned the power to the have-nots
And then came the shot

Yeah
Yeah, back in this...
Wit' poetry, my mind I flex
Flip like Wilson, vocals never lackin' dat finesse
Whadda I got to, whadda I got to do to wake ya up
To shake ya up, to break the structure up
'Cause blood still flows in the gutter
I'm like takin' photos
Mad boy kicks open the shutter
Set the groove
Then stick and move like I was Cassius
Rep the stutter step
Then bomb a left upon the fascists
Yea, the several federal men
Who pulled schemes on the dream
And put it to an end
Ya better beware
Of retribution with mind war
20/20 visions and murals with metaphors
Networks at work, keepin' people calm
Ya know they murdered X
And tried to blame it on Islam
He turned the power to the have-nots
And then came the shot

Unh!
What was the price on his head?
What was the price on his head?

I think I heard a shot
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard, I think I heard a shot

'He may be a real contender for this position should he
abandon his supposed obediance to white liberal doctrine
of non-violence...and embrace black nationalism'
'Through counter-intelligence it should be possible to
pinpoint potential trouble-makers...And neutralize them,
neutralize them, neutralize them'

Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up

How long?
Not long

'Cause what you reap is what you sow.
