General Chat / Re: Shaving
« on: February 19, 2006, 07:26:43 PM »
AH, I hate shaving! I just did so today. . .I'm getting the new Gillette Fusion very soon, and I heard that it's an extremely good razor. But for now I use the Gillete Mach 3, not the electric one either, just the plain old razor with three blades. I trim my facial hair with Remmington trimmers (b/c much like Black Mage, I'm lazy and go with the rugged look more often than shaving) But when I shave I take like half an hour to shave b/c I'm extremely careful. . .anyways, i'm sure you dont' want to hear the shaving habits of random people so, yea, i'm done.

General Chat / Re: Another year and what have you done?
« on: February 19, 2006, 07:18:53 PM »
This past year, I've focused on being a better person in general. I mean, as far as swearing, I've probly gotten worse, but I don't believe what you say determines what kind of person you are, what you do determines what kind of person you are. And I've really changed how I do things, so hopefully I've achieved my goal.

And when it comes to making the world a better place? I honestly don't believe much can be done at this point. USA is too dedicated in the war in iraq for there to be peace anytime soon, as far as the Government, I believe that we're at a point where it's about to collapse under itself, but I'm not going into detail as far as that goes lol, there are a whole lot of thoughts that could be considered conpiracies and paranoia. . .which it probly is, but I don't trust the Gov't as far as I could throw it. . .

Oh, wow. Sorry Khold, heh, I normally say dude and man to girls anyways. lol. My girlfriend is labeled as dude, so y'know no offense or anything. heh.

Unfortunately, no music store where I live carries Ibanez, I had to order mine off of the internet. It's black, and I got it when I was kinda depressed, so I wrote a poem called "Ebony Tears" and named it Ebony. lol.

I ear played a majority of my soundbite (that I don't have access to b/c I'm breaking the rules at my High School and getting on the net) but when I get home I  will upload it.

Awesome guitar man! Interesting, because Ibanez is the only guitar that I like to play too. I play an Ibanez GSA60. .everything on it is factory, but I do plan on "spiffing" it up a bit. I'll put a pic up whenever I actually get my guitar back (it's at my youth's worship room.) I also own a classical guitar that Ibanez made. It's like twenty three years old now. Family heirloom, I suppose. Actually I have a soundbite that I'll post up, it's me playing the classical. . .I'm not sure, did I post it here or not? I go to so many forums and waiver so much I can hardly keep track of where I say stuff unless I go and look for myself.

Indeed, I like your taste in guitars Khold.

General Chat / Re: Do you have an accent?

70% General American English
15% Dixie
15% Yankee
0% Midwestern
0% Upper Midwestern

That's me, I can agree with that even though I live right in the middle of east Texas, I have a friend who moved from Minnesota and I have been afflicted with his accent. There are times when my accent wavers to eastern texan but I really try not to have one b/c I hate being stereotyped as redneck/hick. But yea, I agree with the test.

General Chat / Re: What is your weekend schedule like?
« on: December 17, 2005, 02:29:30 PM »
Normally, I'll go hang out with friends on friday we call it "Friday Night Movie Night" or something along those lines, after that, we normally sit and talk for hours about life and our future (we're high school seniors currently), although last night (friday night) I spent with my girlfriend, which was pretty cool. Today? I'll probably just sit here until something happens, precisely what I do every saturday, mostly something happens. Sundays I work at Gamestop from 4:00 to 9:00, and well I'd normally go to bed at eleven pm, but I'm on winter break so it'll be like three weeks before I have to go to bed early. :D These next few weeks, I'll probly be spending with my g/f and her family and my family in Louisiana. (My favorite side of the family).

EDIT: Ah yes, I know monday doesn't count as a weekend day. .. but my school is having our Senior Winter Formal dance, for seniors only. Unless of course you were invited by a senior. I will be attending this social gathering of peers and other types of social awkwardness. ;)

I'm sure this has been VERY entertaining for you guys, but yes, there's some insight as to what my weekends consist of, please, by all means, forget everything you just read because it is almost completely irrelevant to you.

Hmm. This topic has gotten EXTREMELY off topic. Strange how it does that.

On the subject of making a post to see what people think as a psychological test is a cool idea. You can understand better how people think and how they look at people of the same and opposite sex. However, I do not see when political correctness, being high, or being offended come into this. Specially when you are not the one being judged, Sapph thus far has only been irritated by people it seems to me, and not offended even though someone said they've seen better.

Now that I've seen her pic, I really like the way you look sapph and stick to you being beautiful.

Yeah, I got the demo version, It's a good program, but I don't know enough about it to actually take the risk of buying it. I suppose that's why it's a demo. hehe.

And there's this funny band/group called Group X, who did the Mario Twins. I love their music, you'd have to listen to understand why I love em, because they can't be described in words.

Hey, nice! I like this program.

I just came across a band that I REALLY liked today. . ..but I can't seem to remember the name of the band, just the song. It's called "Gun in Hand", It's similar to Mudvayne.

Okay, I hope that this is generally on topic, but one of my favorite guitar players is Eric Clapton, and he played a song originally by Mason Williams called "Classical Gas" and I have played a portion of it to show you how it sounds and whatnot. Also, there is another peice in there called "Greensleeves", I believe that Sapph, Chup and other various members that I can't remember offhand had a discussion about it.

Nice, I didn't know there were so many guitar players here. I have been playing for about three years now, like an hour a day, though, I haven't been playing too much recently, due to me actually taking school seriously. I can play anything once I set my mind to it, I just have to work on it for a day or two, but yes, If you (Khold) can play Dream Theater solos, you are better than I.

I remember posting an acoustic guitar solo that I played one time and for some reason, only Deezer could listen to it. Would this be an appropriate topic to put a sound clip of us playin in?? I'd really like to try again. This time, though, I've improved three hundred percent, so it won't be simple little riffs, I've really gotten good at finger picking and playing classical peices. I didn't want to make a topic for it and be the only one to post something in it. . .though it would be cool to hear everyone elses stuff, I do remember hearing Chup play the guitar one time.

Yes, anyways, I also have experience on the Drums, playing simple rock beats and easy easy solos, not really the best, but good enough to play in say, a Church Youth band or something.

Wow, at least someone here knows Dream Theater. I also play the guitar. I'm learning alot of their songs now. I just mastered the second solo on "Blind Faith" on Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance. THAT was a hard song...

Wow. I'd like to hear it someday, you should record it and post it, that would be awesome. I too am a guitarist, but am still picking up scales and working on speed, but as far as music theory, I've mostly got it down. But I really really like the drummer from Dream Theater, I love watching drum players play, and I'm not sure why.

Hmmm. . .lately I've been listening to music from movies too, and some My Chemical Romance.
