Forum Games / Guess That Line
« on: October 28, 2007, 01:50:24 PM »
Yay, I'm going to rush out another game that's boring and uninteresting.

I say a line, then the person that gets it right says another line, then someone else guesses it, says a new line, repeat over and over.

Try to make it mostly video games. Offer hints if you need to.

Video Game Chat / One Console to Rule Them All
« on: October 27, 2007, 10:49:53 AM »
Someone on another forum posted a theory that someday Micro, Ninty, and Sony will all join together to form one huge gaming platform that will end the Console Wars.

I remember having an issue of Tips & Tricks that talked about something like this, and I lost it. I want to show some stuff that is wrong with putting all companies into one console, so I'm asking, is it a good idea to have all companies work on one console?

General Chat / FireFox Advice
« on: October 21, 2007, 05:36:53 PM »
I worked on this topic a few minutes ago. I used the spell check, pop-up blocked. Allowed Pop-Ups. Page Refreshed. ALL CONTENT I TYPED WAS GONE. (IE)

That's it, I've had it with this browser.

I'm switching to FireFox.

Tell me what it does just like/better than IE. (Website Access, Pop-Ups, Java Use, Homepages, faster and more reliable connection, etc.)

I have no problems with Security Problems. IE just keeps failing on me.

Link to download would be appreciated, since I'm not sure which version to get. Also, I'm not going to use any add-ons/toolbars. I assume that's fine. One more thing, does it take that much data out of my system? My computer's nearly 5/8 full of data, and I'm still trying to make it faster.

Video Game Chat / Sonic the Hedgehog Topic
« on: October 20, 2007, 03:53:14 PM »
Yes, I'm going to bandwagon with the current topic names, and make a topic about one of our favorite Hedgehogs.

My favorite game right now is Heroes, and I'm trying to get all 'A's for every mission. I also like Riders as well.

Personally, I like the 2D Sonic a lot more, since I had Mega Collection and Gems, but I gave them to my friend before I moved away.

Oh, and I guess I like Sonic X, even the dub. I just miss the old cartoons by DiC, like AoStH, which I'm planning to get on DVD. Sadly, I've never seen SatAM.

1. I'm looking to suscribe to a new mag. (Besides NP.) I want one that covers all 3 companies with many previews, reviews, and a bunch of other goodies. By goodies, I mean like those extra stuff at the end of a magazine like Tips & Tricks. I want previews and reviews, so, any suggestions? Oh, and which one will make more for my money?

2. I used to play MapleStory before, and I quitted since I found out I was using some glitch illegally. I'm going to start over with a new account, so I'm going to install it again. The thing is, I want to reduce lag. I've heard that having more RAM will make your CPU faster, and you have to add some memory card to increase your CPU. I'm not sure where to buy and how to do that, so is there any way I can clear up space besides Disc Cleanup and deleting random stuff?

1. Any good Video Game websites like GameSpot that has many features like that website? Boards like System Wars? I'm asking because I got banned from GameSpot for being a "Legend" and using trying to be smart in the GameFaqs shared boards. Also, anything related to CNET I'm basically banned from since GameSpot/GameFaqs are part of CNET.

2. What's the difference between an Xbox 360 Premium and Core besides the Specs, data storage, HD, or whatever?

3. (Off-Topic) Isn't quitted a word? I looked at the dictionary, and it says that it's a past form of quit.

Video Game Chat / What is happening to the Smash Community?
« on: September 21, 2007, 10:00:53 PM »
As you all may know, Brawl is one of the most anticipated games coming out. I recently joined a gaming club in my school, and everyone there gets all defensive whenever I want to play an item tournament in Melee.

I am a user of items, and I find this kind of interesting to look up. I have found some opinions from my friends, and from NSider.

Pros

  • Makes the game more fun. Come on, I know that you can't resist luring someone to a MSB.
  • Requires more skill, as if you are good with AND without items, then you're probably a good player if you can win with different rules.
  • Fun > Fair

Cons

  • It takes no skill with items on.

Feel free to suggest additions to the list, as I do not know that much as of now.

I think the main problem is how people get serious over a game like Smash. Yes, it's a great competitive game, and to really test your skills, you need to be able to own someone with the same conditions for both players. I think I see something wrong with this. Everyone always plays on Final Destination with no items, and they call that real skill. If you're the master of Final Destination, but you suck at other stages, are you really a good player? Probably not in my eyes.

"But wut about teh Gimmikz in da other levels?"

I think that if you have real skill, you will be able to adapt to every stage, anticipating all the stuff that happens in the stage. The same applies to items. The Hammer is easy to dodge even in a small area. It just requires more dodging skills. Besides, if the head of the hammer comes off, then sucks for the person who got the hammer.

Like I said before, it's fine to have no item matches that test skill, but I think a skilled gamer would be skilled in both item and non-item matches.

Boy, if the Smash Community plays Brawl just like Melee, then Brawl would just be considered an Online Melee with more Characters and Stages.

I can see it now, Final Smashes and Assist Trophies will be banned, and everyone will be using the Final Stage of Classic Mode.

What ever happened to the 'Delete this account function?'

I was going to use it, but it's not there anymore.

Don't ask why, don't say that I'm being a baby about this, I'm just not fit into this forum even if I had tried my best even after I had turned 13.

General Chat / Scary Online Stuff
« on: August 24, 2006, 06:26:22 PM »
Has anyone ever been to a website where you have seen somthing so scary, that you just left your seat? Well I have. (Well I didn't leave my seat, I fell off it.) Still, I looked at it again and it didn't get that scary the 2nd or 3rd time.

Here is a website with something that made me jump.

Video Game Chat / Pain from Video Games
« on: July 13, 2006, 09:12:30 AM »
Have you ever hurt yourself or had sore muscles from video games? I'm sure many had some pain.

Some examples are getting carpal tunnel from too much time on the CPU. I actually got one from playing and hanging out on the Fungi Forums.

I also got a blister on the palm of my hand from games on the N64 that required you to rotate the control stick. An example is from Mario Party. There's a game where you have to rotate the stick fast. What do you do? Most people would use their finger but I found a way to rotate faster. put the stick on the palm of your hand and rotate your hand like you're cleaning a window very fast or something. I was able to beat the CPU, but i used this technique too much and I got a blister right on the palm of my hand.

I got another blister on the GC controller. When you have to press A a lot in a limited time, I rake the controller. I take the part of my hand between the joint after the knuckles and rub it on the A button. Then I press A really fast. The harder I do it, the faster. You can do 3/4 as much as a turbo controller if you do it really hard. But prolonged use will make a blister.

Mario Chat / Getting Easier?
« on: April 18, 2006, 06:16:50 PM »
I'm just noticing that several of the games are getting easier to beat or whatever. They were hard before, but now they are easy. Discuss all of your difficulty questions here.

Personally, I thought Partners in Time was easy. I beat it in only 16 hours, and I beat the "Spoilers of the last boss in PiT" Highlight to see "both forms of the true princess shroob" while using the regular pants for all 4 characters. (The pants they all started out with.)

Also, I kind of consider the highlighted part a spoiler, but if it's not, I don't want to risk it.

Mario Chat / Looking for a picture
« on: April 08, 2006, 12:37:28 PM »
This isn't much to ask, but can someone post a picture of the back of the Super Mario Strikers box?

I'm trying to get an accurate picture of Mario like this:

Thanks for the help.

Video Game Chat / Runescape
« on: April 07, 2006, 04:38:30 PM »
Is anyone here a player of Jagex Ltd.'s game Runescape? It's an MMORPG where you can fight, do quests, and many other stuff. It's like a slimmed-down version of World of Warcraft. The cool thing is, the game is free and if you want, you can suscribe to a members' account and get more features. (But you have to pay $5 a year.)

However, this game is so addicting that it's the reason why I didn't spend that much time here in FF.

General Chat / Technical Help

Please, I need help with a stupid question. I'm using a floppy disk to store my data for a project. I don't know how to upload it! I can save it into the floppy, but I can't upload it into word.

Video Game Chat / Mario vs. Zelda
« on: March 23, 2006, 05:15:42 PM »
Yippie. Here comes a shot at a thread with a competition. Mario vs. Zelda.

You know the drill. Vote for your favorite.

Also, don't give me this "It's a Mario site." look. Mario may be the subject here, but Zelda is a legendary series. (Hence the name Legend of Zelda.) Also, I will not allow a both option so no one can sucker out of voting. You must choose one or the other.

As for me, take a guess.

Site Discussion / Advertising Websites?

Yeah, I know it's against the rules, but I've seen some people posting topics asking for help on their website. Is it considered advertising?
