Video Game Chat / Re: Do you read the manual?
« on: August 10, 2007, 02:55:38 PM »
I always read the manuals for my games, for two main reasons:

1) Most obviously, it provides very useful instructions on how to perform certain actions in the games, supplies various information about the game, etc.

2) As I read the manual, I tend to get more and more anxious to play the game (it's a good feeling).

I also agree with you. However, when I was younger, I NEVER used to read the manuals. Now, I always read the manuals. I even went back and read the manuals for the games that I didn't read when I was younger. I sometimes even read the manual for a game after I'm completely done with it. Manuals provide you with useful information usually not found in tutorials or anywhere else. Whenever a friend brings over a game I have never played, I ask for the controls. I adapt to them and sometimes find out things that my friend didn't know. I think it's rude to open the case and read the manual for a friends game except in the occasion where none of us know what we are doing.

Mario Chat / Re: Peach is Very Out-of-Character in the Strikers Series
« on: August 10, 2007, 02:36:37 PM »
I've always thought of Mario to be more out-of-character than anyone else in this game. I mean, look at him!

he is able to keep a cheerful, forgiving personality when Bowser kidnaps Peach over and over, but he gets all angry and serious in a soccer game? Where was all that energy when he was fighting evil villians and such?

Haha, you're right about that.

Mario Chat / Re: Why no NSMB on Gamecube
« on: August 10, 2007, 02:29:59 PM »
I don't see a problem with NSMB on Gamecube. I haven't even played it on the DS, but I think it would be good. Unfortunately, they stopped making any more Gamecube games.
They'd have to make it, like, $20, or no one would buy it, and it would probably be real short. Super Paper Mario, I think, is the closest we've got at this point.

Do you mean that Super Paper Mario is really short, or do you mean it's the closest we've got to a NSMB on a console?

Mario Chat / Re: Your favorite Power-Ups in various Mario games
« on: August 10, 2007, 02:21:00 PM »
Awwww man! Only 5 Power-Ups??? Well, here's what I chose:

Fire Flower: VERY useful, especially against Hammer Bros.
Starman: Cool song, Invincibility.
Tanooki Suit: Same as Super Leaf, but you can turn into stone! Using the debug code in SMB3 with this can lead you to turn grey and invincible while you're in other forms!!!!(Yes, I experimented with it)
Metal Cap: You turn metal and can destroy like anything in your path!
Hammer Bros. Suit: Like what Eric B. said. You get to be the annoying Hammer Bros. and defeat anyone in your path!

I think we're getting better. Sunshine WAS a lot harder than Super Mario 64 to me. I've always quickly adapted to the controls and mechanics of games, and when I play more and more, I get better and better. Super Mario Bros. was harder than SMB2, however. Only that SMB2 wasn't a real Mario game... Whenever I play a Mario RPG, the sequel is always harder to me(except Super Mario RPG because there was no sequel). So my overall thought is that we are all getting better at Mario games because I've seen some new gamers have a lot of trouble with a recent Mario game.

General Chat / Re: Most TV is crap

MAJIDE TIME! Man, I absolutely LOVE Bobobo-bobo-bobo. It's hilarious with plenty of random things to keep you entertained. I also watch One Piece and Naruto, which also are great shows in my opinion. However, those only show up on Toonami every Saturday. On weekdays, I just watch whatever is on, but if it's something I don't like, I change the channel. I don't think that TV started getting bad since 2003, considering that most of my favorite shows were still on then.

Yeah, I just saw this on the site a few minutes ago! I was shocked at what they did to the single-player mode. Not to say that Melee had a bad one. I also like the ideas of the short movies! I believe that Peach is playable, seeing as she is using her umbrella and appearing with Zelda to help Mario and Kirby.

You shouldn't say if Sonic is in the game until they announce it. Rumors don't apply. Ike has this huge 2-handed fire sword or something that he holds with one hand. He can rip Snake in half!

It's pretty obvious that it's Majora's Mask(I didn't like the game that much). A little better graphics, Ocarina of Time, Most of the characters are the same, same engine, yeah...

Waluigi punched Luigi in the face because he ate his lettuce, tomato, and ketchup sandwhich.
