Video Game Chat / Re: More Media Adaptations for Nintendo IPs?
« on: July 17, 2016, 12:39:20 PM »
In a perfect world, there's a fun TV series about daily life in the world of Splatoon. In the world we live in, there's the Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3.

I don't have much hope for Nintendo cartoons.

I wonder about the possibilities of modding a cartridge slot in there. A NES with an HDMI port is something I've wanted for a while, and this might just be the way to get it.

Mario Chat / Re: Is Shigeru Miyamoto Good for Nintendo?

Super Mario 64 wasn't a reboot in terms of gameplay. The only thing that it brought back were some classic tunes and enemies (plus the basic plot).

StarFox 64, I'll give you that one, total reboot albeit with better graphics and sound. (I like 64 better though personally).
I think there's a disconnect here on what "reboot" means, especially if you're going to qualify it as "in terms of gameplay".

Mario 64 plays completely differently from any Mario game that came before it. Reboot.
Star Fox 64 plays almost exactly the same as Star Fox 1. Not a reboot.

Does that actually happen, though? The two things I always see that applied to are Metroid and Paper Mario, but those series are still (technically) alive.

No Earthbound games since 1995 and we still get their characters?

Huh, weird.

Fan Creations / Re: Post your YouTube info here!

I made this Youtube account almost two years ago, but haven't used it very much until just recently. I've mostly used it for uploading stream archives, but sometimes I put the occasional Final Fantasy XIV encounter on it as well. Overwatch came out a week ago, so I've been saving my highlights also.

Oh, and I guess I can put this channel here as well. It's for youtube poop. I've only made one, but I'm proud(???) of it.

Oh.
Oh no.

But actually this news seems pretty rad. Hopefully it turns out to be a good idea. Maybe there will finally, finally be a good video game movie.

I heard the story wasn't as good, and was the weak point of the game.

Bought it anyway. I haven't started it yet, though, because I haven't finished the last one. Whoops!

I actually did look at the main site, as well. A bunch of the images don't load, such as the "featured" images (in the pipe graphic on the main page), and I'm not entirely sure why. The old splash pages worked well enough, except for, again, an image here or there not displaying.

I'm typing this post from Windows 3.11. I installed it on a virtual machine for fun, because I am a filthy, filthy nerd. The most "modern" browser I could get to run on this ancient Roman adding machine is Internet Explorer 5, which renders pages... interestingly. It doesn't do Flash or Java, and has some issues with Javascript. Attached is a screenshot of this thread. It took me a good hour to find a way to convert it from BMP format, which is all that this version of MS Paint can create. Is this how old people feel?

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to create some vaporwave or something.

I'll be sure to put in the call. If I just say "Lizard Dude" will they know who I mean? I don't want to cause any undue confusion.
