Mario Chat / Re: New Mario Movie

Super Mario Bros.

My "Mario" movie would not be as sequel to the original "Super Mario Bros." movie, but would be a live-action film with considerable C.G.I. for the Koopas and some of the more bizarre Kingdoms of Mushroom World.  It would be more serious science fiction than any previous "Mario" form and would be geared with adults and children in mind, sort of like "Star Wars."

Story: Something's wrong with the sewers in Brookyln, NY. For some reason, turtles have been popping out of sewer pipes all over town.  It's up to Something's wrong with the sewers in Brookyln, NY. For some reason, turtles have been popping out of sewer pipes all over town.  It's up to expert plumber Mario Segali and his brother Luigi to rid their hometown of this infestation.  These aren't ordinary snapping turtles, either.  Nicknamed "Shellcreepers," they are the size of Galapagos tortoises but are fast and vicious.   Luigi, a paranormal enthusiest, believes that the Shellcreepers are a whole new order of life, since they are blue, possess certain birdlike features, and are all-around unturtleish.  Plus their shells seem to be biomechanical add-ons that are not only dangerous when the Shellcreeper is dead, but can over time regenerate a new 'Creeper.  Mario is skeptical of his diagnosis, but as they get deeper and deeper into the sewers thay start finding mysterious technology and "artifacts" that shouldn't be there.  They find the source of the Shellcreepers, a large pipe that's design matches the weird technology they found earlier.  Luigi crawl through the pipe and eventually emerges in a vast prairie full of more advanced relativesof the Shellcreepers ("Koopa Troopas" and "Paratroopas") and motile mushrooms ("Goombas").  He finds an indigenous life form named Kinopio (nicknamed "Toad") who tells him that this is Mushroom World, a parallel universe.  Recently, the eight allied kingdoms of Mushroom World have been annexed by the Koopas, a race of dragon-like beings who travel from one universe to another for the purpose of conquest.  The human princesses (Peach and Daisy Toadstool) of the two allied kingdoms Mushroom World is now under the imperial rule of genetically engineered Koopa Monsters, but there is still hope.  A prophesy states that two brothers from another world will destroy the Koopas, rescue the princesses, and restore peace to Mushroom World.  Luigi returns through the "Warp Zone" to get his brother.

This is all I got done before I decided to stop writing because I was wasting by time and getting really bored.

If anyone has beaten "Metroid II" PLEASE tell me how you managed to kill the metroid queen.  That thing is IMPOSSIBLE!

Maybe one of the "Super Smash Bros. 2" characters should be that dog that laughs at you when you miss the birds in "Duck Hunt."  : )

I came up with an idea for a "Mario" movie about a year ago, but my plot outline read like an episode of "The X-Files."

I made up "Mario 4" also!  It wasn't too much like the real "Super Mario World," but my "Mario  5" had Yoshi in a key role eating stuff and getting powers and saw the return of the Shy Guys, a lot like "Yoshi's Island."  This is completely out of the topic, but did "Super Mario Bros. 3" have a subtitle.

Years ago I had a dream where I was playing "Mario 3" and I accidentally put in some code and I got a selection of weird new powers.  The only one I remember was where Mario changed into an amÅ“ba and got to swim fast, stick to walls, slide through little spaces, and zap enemies with electricity.  I was just entering the level with the "AmÅ“ba Suit" when my mom woke me up.

Mario Chat / Re: New Game, New Power

I don't like the way they never reuse the powere in new games except for the original trio (mushroom, flower, star).  I for one would like to see the return of racoon power, or frog suit, or tanooki suit, or what ever you call that really cool power where you have a fireproof Buzzy Beetle helmet and get to throw hammers.  I almost think leaf/raccoon power was reincarnated as feather/cape power.  The item and power behave the same way, just the graphics were different.  Maybe "Super Mario Bros. 4" had raccoon power.  New power?  Maybe if Mario could walk through walls or have x-ray vision to see items in blocks like Samus, or he could just zap people or turn into "Altered Beast" or something, I don't know.

Thanks!  I was starting to wonder if I was just nuts.  "Mario 9"?  That seems a little odd.

Mario is the emperor of video games!  I like "Pokémon," but it doesn't even come close to "Mario."  My friend said that a vote in some magazine found Laira Croft from "Tomb-Raider" to be the most popular video game character, but I strongly disagree.  A lot of other video game characters are rip-offs of Mario.  Not that I need to name any names (*coughbanjokazooiecough*).

It's definitely "vwee-voo."  I love that sound.  It's just so realistic.

Mario Chat / Re: What's the WORST Mario game ever?
« on: June 05, 2000, 10:18:28 AM »
I think the worst "Mario" game is "Super Mario Bros. 2: The Dream Machine."  I like it, just it doesn't measure up to the other "Mario" games.  Maybe I should say it it the least great one.  It's good, just not "Mario" good.  "Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island" would be the runner up for worst/least great in my opinion.  They totally strayed away from "Super Mario World," threw out the time-honored "Mario" mechanics, changed many things to be more geared for younger players, and it almost seems thet they were trying to remake "Mario 2" in some ways.

Definitely Toad.  I don't know why, but my favorite "Mario" good guy has always been Toad.

My least favorite character is Baby Bowser.  For "Yoshi's Island" and "Yoshi Story" they could have just had Bowser or one of the Koopa kids as the main enemy instead of creating a new (and annoying) Koopa.  My least favorite good guy would be Wario when he plays the good guy.  As a villain I think he's OK.
