Yoshi info

Now, I've played very little of "Super Mario R.P.G." and none of "Yoshi's Story," but of what I've seen there are a lot of Yoshis identical except for different colors.  I was wondering if these Yoshis have individual names or are they just "Blue Yoshi" and "Red Yoshi" and so on?  And, I mean in games and game manuals and such, not fan fiction.

Here is the impression I get: Yes, individual yoshis do have names. Boshi, for instance, is the name of a purple yoshi in SMRPG.
Yoshi is the name of THE yoshi. This is the yoshi that (along with some of his friends) defeated Kamek and (baby) Bowser in YI and helped the Mario Bros in SMW.

THE yoshi, as far as we know, is not even in Yoshi's Story. For our purposes, all yoshis that aren't named, are identified by their color.

Anyone disagree or have a different intrepetation? I'd love to hear it.
