Title: Question about WFC bans
Post by: Suber Bloober on November 04, 2010, 02:45:19 PM
So anyway, I was banned from Mario Kart Wii WFC play, and I was wondering how long it lasts without attempting to connect with hacks.

I believe it's permanent unless you call customer service and have it removed, or change some of your Wii's networking details.

Why were you banned?

Seeing as he lists "attempting to connect with hacks" as a possible option for his future, I have a sneaking suspicion.

It comes as a surprise to me that Nintendo even has bans, and on an older game to boot. With this newfound knowledge in hand, I now raise my assessment of Nintendo's support for online competition from Utterly Terrible up to the new rating of Terrible.

LD: Mario Kart Wii has had a banning tool as long as I can remember. I think it has been in use since the game came out.

I was just trying to get him to say it outright, so I had a reason to launch into a tirade about cheating in multiplayer games.

Cheating on your own time is your own business, but when you start to impact other people's enjoyment you get what you deserve.

So several days ago I tried the MAC changer and No Hax bypass codes and I still couldn't connect, but I am thinking about trying the WIID changer (a ban bypass code just for Mario Kart Wii).

Suber Bloober: you are a cheating loser and I don't like you for it.

What were you banned for in the first place? The answer seems obvious, but some affirmation would be good.

Asking this forum about about how to remove a ban you received for cheating on an online multilayer game is like accidentally burning your house down with a menorah and then asking the WWII German Nazi party to help build you a new one.

Well, not quite, SolidShroom. It's more like if he burned his house down on purpose.

Suber Bloober: you are a cheating loser and I don't like you for it.
Really. Then why don't YOU try cheating. See how fun it is.

Cheating for fun offline, where you're isolated from disrupting another's good, clean fun is one thing. When you bring it on to a network and cause others not to have fun, we have a different situation.

I'm all for online cheaters that cheat their VR up to 35,000 and don't modify anything else, due to that reflecting positively on everyone else's experience.  That's about it.  Offline, however, anything goes; though I don't partake in either kind myself, nor do I intend to.

You mean like Mr. Bean? Dude, that guy is so beast, too bad he stopped hacking. He made me the 4TL* I am today.

Let's see...

Super Bloober cheated in Mario Kart Wii multiplayer and was banned as a result. Somehow he expected the Fungi Forums to help him, but instead they tore into him for being a cheating loser. And now he thinks we'd lower ourselves to his level and cheat ourselves?

You wouldn't go around telling people shooting yourself in the foot is fun. So don't try doing the same for cheating.

You watch Family Guy WAY too much.

Whoever gave Super Bloober that CT is a god among men.

I feel even more insulted now than I did when he suggested we try cheating. That show is absolute garbage and I would not stoop so low as to make a reference to it.

If we can't answer Super Bloober's question, I'm just going to lock this. I know that most people are against cheating, but does that mean we should start insulting him? We can make another topic if we wish to discuss cheating in online games.

EDIT: Who gave Super Bloober that insincere custom title? It's not funny or cool to put someone down like that...

Many members have CTs far worse than his, you know.

That doesn't justify his custom title for being what it is. If we're deliberately steering newer members away from this forum, I say we might as well close it down and set up a chat restricted to a certain group.

I understand, but it's not like he's some random dude. We've already determined he has no morals, and I'm not sure that's a person anyone really wants hanging around.

Well, I still don't think that's a good reason to bash him.

Kimimaru, you're like, the most good-natured person on this board.

That said, I don't think the intent was to bash him so much as tease him about asking for help getting around a [justified, it seems] WFC ban.

That doesn't justify his custom title for being what it is. If we're deliberately steering newer members away from this forum, I say we might as well close it down and set up a chat restricted to a certain group.
Here I agree, in a sense.  The forum desperately needs more members, and how many of those that have joined in the past year and seemed like okay guys are still here?  Remember Count Bleck?  waddle_doo?  Ruiji Kaabii, who was shot down before even posting outside the introduction thread?  I think the last new member we've had that has stayed has been Weegee.  It just doesn't give Super Bloober an excuse to flout the rules (or, in this case, ask a really boneheaded question).

Alright, the facts: Super Bloober cheats online. He shouldn't, and if it's indeed the cause of him being banned, I'm in as much of a mood as the rest of you to help out. However, I wouldn't necessarily say that needs to define him as a person on this forum.  Additionally, mean CTs are the name of the game around here (heck, I've still got mine); though I wouldn't recommend it linger too long if we care to keep him around and in good spirits, he might want to be grateful he even has one.

Since we're talking about judging Super Bloober as a user here, it should be pointed out that he has, in addition to proving himself as a [beep] in this thread, broken forum rules on multiple occasions in the past. Namely:

- No harassing or threatening forum members. (Okay, nearly everyone here breaks this one all the time, so that doesn't hold much weight, but...)
- No asking for or posting other copyrighted material such as MP3s or links to MP3s. (http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=13302.msg578821#msg578821)

I'm all for new members sticking around when they're cool people like CongressionalWombat, PghPens, or Count Bleck, not losers like Super Bloober.

Forget it. Since everybody hates me and no one will answer my question, lock this thread.
