I seem to be having trouble with the big, bad Boolossus.

Well, don't ask me! My only advice is to play another game for a while, like Yoshi's Cookie or something, until an idea pops into your mind. Do not return to Luigi's Mansion until an idea pops into your mind.
Also, vacuum up your floor. Dirty floors can be distracting. (I mean your real floor, not the Luigi's Mansion floor. ;))
If neither of the above helps you, then wait for someone to make a SERIOUS post.

Vacuum up Boolossus and drag him over to one of those unicorn statues. Try to move the Boo over to the Unicorn's spike using your C-stick, and Boolossus will break into a lot of smaller boos. To suck up these smaller boos, use the Ice Elemental to freeze them, and then suck them up. Just like other boos, when you look at them, they run away.
Continue this process until every last small boo has been frozen and sucked up and you will have beaten Boolossus.

I try to but when I press the L button it doesn't spray ice for a short time, also I have to know how to keep my health over 70.

If you push the L button all the way in, the vacuum will shoot out an iceball. However, if you puch in the L button, say, halfway, a type of ice spray will come out from the vacuum. I think your problem lies within you pushing the L button all the way down. Try pushing it half way.
As for trying to keep your health above 70, you're going to have to be very skilled in doing that. Well, by the time I killed Boolossus, I had 5 health left. :p Anyway, I recommend riding out the fight until the end, dispite what your health may be during and/or at the start of the fight. The more smaller boo's you kill, the more likely of a chance you will win.

Boolossus was pretty hard for me, too... I just got my brother to beat it.

hey i just beat that guy two days ago, anyway since someone already told you how beat him, i dont fell the need to tell you again
