Mario Chat / How cool would it be...
« on: April 14, 2008, 04:15:01 PM »
If they made New Super Mario World for the DS?  The powerups and gameplay would be the same as SMW (along with the returning Mega Mushroom), but the graphics/levels/bosses would all be better/different.  I, for one, was disappointed about the lack of a flight-based powerup in NSMB, and also the lack of depth and length to the levels and worlds.  SMW was probably the best Mario platformer in terms of sheer size, but NSMB was skimpy on both map size and level length.  I would love to see all that fixed in a sequel.
Does anyone else think that would be cool?

Dump Peach?  Personally I think he'd be better off with Rosalina (not Daisy).

To borrow from Ultima Shadow's format (don't sue, please),

BOWSER JR.

Overview
Bowser Jr. is heavier than he looks, taking a chunk out of otherwise average speed (he's still lighter and faster than Bowser, though).  Due to his small size, he is hard to hit, but is very competent at dishing out his own blows.

Entrance
Jumps off a battleship like the ones in SMG

Colours
Normal (green)
Red-His shell turns red
Blue-Blue shell
Light-Yellow shell
Dark-Black shell and skin

Availability
Unlockable
1. Beat classic on Intense difficulty with Bowser
2. 700 vs. matches

A Moves
A-A-A: attacks three times in succession with his claws
Side-A: attacks with a stronger claw swipe
Up-A: performs a backflip kick
Down-A: performs a headbutt.

Smash Attacks
Up-smash: Jumps about 6 inches off the ground, hitting opponents with his shell.
Side-Smash: Tackles in the direction he's facing.
Down Smash: Spins around with claws extended.

Midair attacks
Normal: Swipes with his claw.
Side: Performs a flipping-headbutt.
Down: [METEOR SMASH] Kicks downward with strong force.
Up: Stays suspended for a split-second and attacks with his shell

B Moves
Normal: Dash-charges up, preparing to run at the enemy; the longer B is held, the more speed/power/distance the attack will have.
Side: Shell-Throw-Throws a koopa shell (not as powerful as the item) at the enemy; 1/8 chance of throwing a red shell, which stays on the platforms.
Up: Jr. Shell Spin-Same as Bowser's Up-B.
Down: Hide!-On the ground, he will hide in his shell for about 4 seconds, invulnerable to damage.  Midair=same thing, but turns upside-down to bomb the enemy, leaving him vulnerable for a short time after landing.

Taunts
Up-Spins around, saying "Ha, Ha!"
Side-Points at the opponent menacingly, saying "Heeheehee!"
Down-Jumps up and down saying "Nyaaaa!"

Win Poses
1. Spins around laughing and smirking.
2. Punches the air shouting "YAA!"

Final Smash
Battleship: Jumps on a battleship like the one he rides in SMG.  Flys around the arena freely; Side-A fires Bullet Bills, Down-A drops Bob-ombs, Up-A launches hotheads.

- Nook, + Animal Crosser

Yeah, perhaps maybe a character called simply "villager," based off the main character.  It would be a defense/recovery-based character.

Standard B: Slingshot--self-explanatory.

Up B: Bunny P balloon--floats through the air for a long while, similar to Peach's up B.

Side B: Fishing pole--hold down to charge distance and power, hits opponents and reels in items.

Down B: Shovel--reflects, projectiles, hits opponents.

Final Smash:  Fruiot bomber--float into the air in the Bunny P balloon and nail the opponents with fruit that you can later eat.

At least, that's what I think an Animal Crossing character would do.

It would be nice if they had the original bread-and-butter SMB overworld theme.  Classic.

Ye gods, that's disgusting!

What is WITH people coming up with elaborate ways to avoid playing the game?
Grinding through hundreds of vs. matches in an hour to unlock characters... precision targeting of specific conditions... why, even even reading and planning these kinds of things from guides and sites and the like.

Whatever happened to just playing a game for the sake of enjoying it and letting these things unlock themselves?  Many of these kinds of conditions and unlockables aren't supposed to be met within a day of purchasing the game, nor a week, nor even a year!  What on EARTH is the justification for wanting to bore through the game's reward system as quickly and precisely as possible?

Ugh... I can't stand this kind of thing.

The justification is that you can enjoy the game how it's meant to be enjoyed: with all the unlockable features.

The one thing I was dreading (yes, DREADING) about Brawl was that I would have to spend the first week unlocking characters/stages.  Thank God for Subspace Emissary and 1 HP stamina matches.

General Chat / Re: Pancakes or Waffles?
« on: April 10, 2008, 11:19:28 AM »
Both, but I have preferences. With waffles, it's either Belgian or no; with pancakes, it simply must be buttermilk style. Anything else and I hurl my plate at the wall and slap whoever's serving me.

LOL... that struck me as funny.

BTW, I seem to be in the minority on this; I like pancakes, but, like Glorb, if the waffles are Belgian, I prefer those any day.

McDonalds:  It;s a classic, people... as for what I order, I usuallly go there for breakfast when I go there at all, so--2 Sausage Biscuits, 2 Hash Browns, 1 Medium orange juice.

KFC:  Their chicken is nice and greasy with plenty of flavorful artery-clogging goodness.

Dairy Queen:  I don't go there much, but I always like their frozen treats.

7. Grab a melon from the produce section, go into a restroom stall (make sure there are plenty of people in the other stalls), make moaning noises and drop the melon in the toilet.

Yes, I have beenable to get those ones... the real problem is the shrinking platforms...  If I just had some solid ground to stand on...

I can't beat the purple coin hunt in Toy Time Galaxy!  I realize this particular challenge probably has more to do with skill than strategy, but is there a good method to do this with?  I wasted 15 lives without getting anywhere in it.

Forum Games / Things not to do in Wal-Mart
« on: April 09, 2008, 01:20:47 PM »
So... before I realized what an incredibly lame game Neopets was, I was on the forum there one day when I came across a topic about what not to do at Wal-Mart, often with humorous answers to the question...  so here we go, even if it is a rip-off.  I wonder what kind of twisted things Mario fans can think of...

I'll start out:

1. Push a cart down the aisle then jump on yelling "WHEEEEEE!"  This works best in front of the check out lanes.
