I got Nookington's by paying off his debt.

So when you get the biggest house, and pay off it's debt, you can buy Nook's store?

Fox: Were heading out! All aircraft report!

Slippy: You did it! I was worried for a moment.

Peppy: Your becoming more like your father!

Falco: I''m fine! You ok over there Fox?

No, no! You can't own the store in Animal Crossing! If you buy 2,000,000 Bells (or something like that) worth of stuff from him, he will upgrade his store. However, before his store Nookway can become Nookington's, someone else has to visit your town.

Well, just look at how long it took them to localize it for America.
That was a joke.

Yes, but from Japanese to English was a huge change.  Aussie's should be very similiar to the US version.

Something important to know about the time it took to get Animal Crossing in the U.S. after it came out in Japan is that localization did not start immediately. Some time was spent just deciding whether the game should even be released here. As fun as that game is, it's still very unique, and Nintendo wanted to be sure bringing it here was the right move.
