Dang, 500,000? 20 years? What if this site doesn't exsist in that length of time? I dunno, we might make it. But then again, 20 years is a very long time. Almost anything can happen. Just keep hold of Mario, and stay true to the Fungi Forums.

If you go here: http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php And scroll waaay down near the bottom, there are a number of different forum covertors which would save all of the users and their sacred posts!
Plus, if FF actualy had a modern, featured board, I am 100% sure that would get loads of new people to sign up and post!

The Gamespy ASPForum is so ancient and obscure now that nobody in the right mind would write a phpBB converter for it.
This fact also worries me for another reason. All the ASPForums share the same database, somewhere on Gamespy. But since the format is so old and mostly abondoned, I wouldn't be surprised if Gamespy wiped it to free up server space. You could wake up one day, and the FF would be gone!

We talked about this matter to IGN at E3 and they said that the board would not be taken away from us without our consent.

If we do switch to phpbb, I hope that the forum can be hosted by a non-Gamespy server. I feel like I'm on 56k when I'm here, which is quite sad when you're paying for a 3MB connection.
Also, why would you lose Watoad? Does his machine not work with it or something?

I don't want loads of new people to register and post. I don't want to lose Watoad. I don't want a new theme. Plus, I think MegaByte has most of it backed up on his computer now, thanks to the guys at IGN.

This is stupid, though. This is also why I stopped posting here for quite awhile:
1) There's no intersting activity or posts 2) The forums software (ASP) sucks 3) The "dark cave" theme sucks
