What is everyone going to watch on TV this season? Assuming anyone here besides me watches TV. Personally, I'm looking forward to new episodes of House, Chuck, NCIS, Smallville, and Heroes (probably in that order). Not many new shows have caught my eye, though, except this one (http://www.nbc.com/Crusoe/).
-
I barely watch television anymore, and if I do it's usually Nick at Nite or Disney Channel with occasional GSN. I'm always busy playing games or being online instead of watching TV.
-
I don't have a tv or home internet up here in Long Beach, I'll be lucky if I can even remember what I'm going to watch when I get them.
Luckliy I have an arcade where I my skills are horribly maimed by Storm/Psylocke users and that guy that uses Rock Howard.
-
MythBusters is the only show I really watch.
-
I watch plenty of TV, but there isn't anything new this fall that I really care about. The most recent shows I've watched are The Spectacular Spider-Man and The Middleman, both of which are awesome.
-
I don't watch TV at home (no cable..) and when we watch it elsewhere, it's usually some boring reality show (my mom and Nicky's mom keeps up with the Design Star on HGtv, and dad.. plays WoW..)
I've taken to looking for old shows that I used to watch and looking for them on DVD when I'm out.
-
Since I don't get anything more than basic cable, the only TV I really regulary watch anymore is a few different cartoons on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I'm a big Ninja Turtles fan, so I'm looking foward to Back to the Sewer next week (which looks to be far better from the all time low of Fast Foward). And, while I know a lot of people bill it as a 20 minute TV commercial, I'm intrigued by the new animation style Chaotic's second season is using. I watched a lot of the first season, and I enjoyed just resting my mind and watching the pretty graphics - so the new season seems to promise even more mindless enjoyment. :P
Oh, and I would also be saying the Spectacular Spiderman (which is my current favorite cartoon), if not for the fact that I have to wait nearly half a year until the new season starts. :X
-
Only thing I'm looking forward to is South Park.
-
I can't wait to catch up with the fine folks at Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company.
-
Only thing I'm looking forward to is South Park.
the new episodes are horrible, and I can only imagine the ones coming in fall will be even worse. I'll still watch though.
-
I watch the news if it's on, but only so I know what people want me to care about/think is going on. Random shows if I have time.
-
MythBusters is the only show I really watch.
This. I don't have an antenna, cable, or satellite now so I've watched all my previously recorded TiVo episodes and bought some on the PlayStation store to catch me up on missed episodes and tide me over until I get DirecTV tomorrow.
I'll also watch some other Discovery and Science Channel shows like Dirty Jobs,The Universe, and some SciFi/BBC shows like Doctor Who.
-
Hm...this topic reminds me of the "Most TV is crap" topic. Anyway, I'm not really interested in any of those shows. If I could watch South Park, I would, but I'm too preoccupied with college to really sit down and watch some TV.
-
I'm watching this fall the following shows; House (MD), Prison Break and adult swim. I watch everything else on youtube.
-
...what?
-
I avoid watching TV because there are no private stations; It's three corporations that make TV bad for you in so many ways.
-
It makes me sad to realize how many people look forward to the next season of TV.
-
Yeah, new television sucks, only oldschool shows like 90's cartoons and stuff of that sort interest me, as well as Disney Channel which just amuses me, I watch most other stuff on the internet, mainly Youtube
-
I just can't help but read the title as
(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg148.imageshack.us%2Fimg148%2F3227%2Ftvfailvy7.png&hash=3bb6fd7ad7d35e4c6c18151dd93fd9a6)
And I also can't help but agree.
-
I avoid watching TV because there are no private stations; It's three corporations that make TV bad for you in so many ways.
...and that's a government conspiracy?
-
Well, yes, it is. And I can't stand how they take me for stupid enough to buy into everything they tell you on TV.
Now that that's out of the way, I will enjoy Smallville.
One hour per week.
-
I don't own cable and I rent shows I like such as Monk, spongebob, and Lost, so I watch cable 0 hours a week. I watch Inuyasha on the internet. I would say I watch 5 hours of television a week.
-
spongebob
I hope you mean the ones before season 4. Because after that the series went downhill. But I am watching for those new episodes of South Park and King of the Hill.
-
I actually do watch some TV, since I'm one of the few posh jerks in the world to have a TV in their room. Most of it's from the Discovery Channel. Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Daily Planet and Canada's Worst Driver/Handyman; it's all good. I also enjoy syndicated episodes of The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy and Robot Chicken.
-
I have a TV in my room, but it's for gaming purposes only. Oh, and there's a DVD player.
-
Reading the thread title suddenly gave me the urge to watch Full House--which is still being broadcast in my neck of the woods... So, I guess I'll try and watch that--unless the urge subsides, then I'll be left with nothing.
-

Are you kidding me?? Every single Spongebob season is just as hilarious as the other! I think that Spongebob is just as funny in season 1 as in season 6. Spongebob is definitely my favorite cartoon.
-
I've noticed the newer one seem to be trying to implement that sort of Family Guy-style irrelevant humor.
Well, anyway, I like a few of the newer ones, but the older ones are better.
-
When I was a kid, I Watched TV everyday non-stop. Now I only watch three shows including House and an occasional shows on Discovery, Science and History channels.
-
but the older ones are better.
I guess your right. The older ones were a bit funnier but I still think that the newer ones are really funny too.
-

Not really. The newer episodes are painful to watch. They appeal to really young kids (I'm not saying you are one) but the older episodes appealed to both kids and adults.
-
That's not true. I've found it humorous at times.
-
The jokes are still pretty funny at times, but now there just seems that every episode now, either spongebob goes crazy, or some horrible accident happens to one of the characters, changing their behavior or appearance. Plus I only want to watch each episode once, whereas I like to watch older episode reruns a lot.
-
"Band Geeks" is one of my favorite television events, period.
-
I mostly just plan on watching Saturday Night Live. I also watch Project Runway on Youtube. It's annoying listening to the designers complain and rush to make clothes, but I like watching the end results. Sometimes I watch stand-up comedy online too. That's about it.
-
"Band Geeks" is one of my favorite television events, period.
My favorite episode is Rock Bottom.
-
I don't watch much TV anymore. I'll occasionally watch [adult swim] or Boomerang.
-
My favorite episode is Rock Bottom.
That episode is awesome, but Chocolate with Nuts is the best. That episode really hit on all cylinders. I think the general consensus among fans is that it is the greatest episode ever, but I think Survival of the Idiots is also a prime contender.
-
Well I was gonna post here saying "'TV this fall?' More like TV is FAIL!" but I see Bird Person has already done something amazingly similar.
-
Choclate with nuts is hilarious too. It's defintely one of my favorites. The Christmas episode was good too.
-
Mr. Krabs in a high pitched voice: "This Christmas feels like the very first Christmas to me!"
-

My favorite is either F.U.N. or 20,000 Patties under the sea (so sue me, I'm a Plankton fan).
-
Band Geeks and Spongebob, Sandy and the Worm were all great episodes, imo.
-
I don't really have a favorite Spongebob, though I mainly like the old ones, and even those are overrated.
-

Nah, Chocolate with nuts was good, but it's way too overrated with the fans (CHOCOLATTTEEEEEEE) My favorite would have to be Just One. What ever happened to those painted images and funny faces in the show? that was a huge part of the show (And one reason why it was so funny) but now they seem to be gone.
-
No, it's more like they've been replaced with a quota of at least one disturbing facial expression and/or mangling of a character per episode. There was one where Spongebob was accidentally smacking Squidward in the face and the guy looked like a Licker when it was over.
Also...

Ah, that's better.
-
I'll just throw it out there, the show began to suck sometime in 2002 or 2003. It was at is best in 2001, with The Bully being the best episode to speak of.
I got a kick out of the "chocolate" YTMNDs.
-
Yeah, The Bully is another awesome episode. I like how they got Thomas F. Wilson to play Flats. .
-
Remember in the Bully episode when the doctor told Flats that Spongebob saved his life by performing CPR for 5 hours straight? That was hilarious the first time I saw it. One of my favorite "newer" episodes is the one where Spongebob accidentally broke squidwards face with a door which strangly made him beautiful! That episode was really funny!

Actually that one was pretty good in my opinion (Compared to the rest of season 5, ugh)
oh and:

Now that's what made the earlier seasons so great.
-
My two favorite episodes are Shanghai'd and Bubble Buddy.
-
Shanghai'd is too funny. I love it when Patrick acts like an idiot with the wishes Flying Dutchman gives him.
"Wishes? I wish we had known that earlier!"
*the clock turns back to 2:00*
"Okay, you've got two wishes."
-
I was LOLing until it hurt the first time I saw the "Fly of Despair".
You know what... let's just make this the SpongeBob thread.
Yeah, The Bully is another awesome episode.
Indeed, but I'm somewhat embarassed to say that, on the occasions that I catch a rerun of it, I spend the majority of the time brainstorming "Unnecessary Censorship"-style bleepings:
"Wow, that's really nice of you. I'll have to remember that when I'm ****ing your butt."
"Run! Run! Can't you see he's going to **** my butt!?!?"
"It's butt-****ing time."
Once again, I apologize.
-
"Run! Run! Can't you see he's going to **** my butt!?!?"
ROFL!!
-
Did anybody happen to catch that trailer for the Spaceballs animated series on G4? If I facedpalmed any harder, I'd get a concussion (no, I don't even want to post a link, even if it has Princess Peach with giant breasts in it).
-
POST THE LINK!!!!!

Either this guy has just entered puberty, or is he's trying way too hard to prove he isn't gay.
-
MushroomJunkie, I'll say it again. You said you're a Christian, so start behaving like one. Stop lusting after women and start focusing on other things. "All flesh is grass." It doesn't last forever, and in the end it is a person's character that attracts you to them. I'm not trying to be mean or take a "holier than thou" position here, I'm trying to get you to follow the moral code we're supposed to uphold. If, by any chance, you're trying to prove you're not gay, don't. We already know that you aren't, so don't try to hammer it into our heads. Just step back, take a deep breath and tackle your problem. If lust is your biggest weakness, you have to try extra hard to rid yourself of it. There are several things you can do to accomplish this. The best and most basic way to do this is recognize that a female's body isn't everything and that you'll find love in its purist form somewhere down the road. It isn't always easy to except, but you'll find that you'll be able to do more once you stop focusing on the flesh and start focusing on someone's character.
I hope you take what I've said into consideration, MJ. You don't need to stop lusting after a woman to show how righteous you are or how pure you are amongst other people, because doing that is also a sin (pride). You have to stop lusting because it is the right thing to do. It's only hurting yourself and distracting you from all the good in the world. And in extreme cases like rape, lusting hurts the one you are lusting after. In all honesty, is it that big of a deal that ShadowBrain didn't post the link? Peach is a cartoon character. She can't return the "love'' you apparently have for her, thus your feelings serve to benefit no one but yourself. It all boils down to your own selfish desire. Do you want to convey those feelings to other people when your own moral code forbids them? What does that say about your faith? What does that say about your love to God, who tells you to abandon your selfish desires? These are all things I want you to consider before you think about another person's physical being. Again, I'm not trying to show that I am holy or perfect (because I'm not), rather, I am trying to tell you that in order to uphold your moral code, you must abide by it in public (amongst people) and in private (amongst God).
This message is obviously not for people who don't abide by the Christian moral code. If you don't, that's perfectly fine. Just ignore the post.

My guess is that he's trying to be funny.

Wow. I didn't ignore the post but you really didn't have to make it so long. I get what your saying.
Either this guy has just entered puberty
My sources say I'm 15.
My guess is that he's trying to be funny.
I don't think you know me very well lol. :)
-
Hey, I don't to be responsible for anyone getting blasted around here... (but I think he was just kidding. Though, still, I have to agree with PaperLugi).
-
Wow. I didn't ignore the post but you really didn't have to make it so long. I get what your saying.
If I had made it short, would you have payed attention? Those are all important things you need to consider. A short post wouldn't have sufficed.
-
Though, still, I have to agree with PaperLugi).
Are you a Christian?
-
No, he is not. That doesn't mean he can't agree with my opinion on the matter, because this can be looked at from both a secular and religious point of view. Just because I am telling you this under the Christian name doesn't mean that the message is totally exclusive to us. I am taking a Christian/religious point-of-view because you said you were Christian/religious and are not abiding by our moral code, which tells us very clearly that it is wrong to lust. I thought that if I just said "stop lusting" without explaining that your own religion forbids it, you wouldn't have listened. If you are a Christian, the Christian moral code should play a huge part in your life. Christianity is more than just loving God, MJ. You have to perform good works unto your neighbor, and lusting isn't one of them.
This message is obviously not for people who don't abide by the Christian moral code. If you don't, that's perfectly fine. Just ignore the post.
Looking back on it, I probably shouldn't have said "This message is not for people who don't abide by the Christian moral code." I probably should've said "If you aren't Christian, get what you can out of it without looking at it from a religious perspective." ShadowBrain can agree with my opinion from a secular point of view (because lusting is wrong no matter how you look at it), but I looked at it from a religious perspective in order to influence you. If I wanted to influence someone who wasn't religious, I would do my best to take a secular stance. However, because we are both Christians, it is easier for me to explain things to you. Do you understand what I'm saying? It probably wouldn't have hit home as much if I hadn't mentioned your Christian moral code because you don't see things from a secular point of view.
-
I don't think you know me very well lol. :)
Then I'm afraid castration is the only logical action.
-
Well, that's one way to kill your desire for the flesh...
-
I was going to respond to MJ's "POST THE LINK!" but it seems PL has pretty much said what I was going to say.
I would like to add that, according to Romans 8:7, if you're letting your sinful nature control your thoughts, you aren't even loving God. Also, remember 1 Corinthians 10:13, you will never be tempted with anything you can't overcome through faith. You can do it, MJ!
Well, that's gotta be my most "religious" post yet :)
-
Then I'm afraid castration is the only logical action.
That was even more perverted then anything I have ever wrote.

You all say your not Christians, yet you all talk like you are. I don't understand.....
-
I'll just add in Matthew 5:27-30 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%205:27-30;&version=47;) again. And...
You all say your not Christians, yet you all talk like you are. I don't understand.....
I can't speak for the others, but I'm a Christian. In fact, it's what my name refers to, as some people may have picked up on already.
As for TV, I thought the House season premiere was pretty good. The end felt a bit rushed, but for the most part, it was a nice return to form after the mediocre finale last season.
-
You all say your not Christians, yet you all talk like you are. I don't understand.....
When did I say that? I said that ShadowBrain wasn't a Christian, but he agrees with me because the issue can be viewed from both a secular and religious perspective. Even though the two of us look at it differently, we both came to the conclusion that lust is a bad thing. I am a Christian and you are a Christian, therefore, I communicated to you by appealing to your Christian morale. If you don't want me to do that, ask someone who is not a Christian on why lust is bad.
Here, maybe I'm using too many complicated words and phrases. Try this, MJ:
Secular perspective: This is how someone like ShadowBrain might view lust: "Lust is bad because it can lead to rape. It can also, over time, disconnect the person who is lusting from reality. To stop lusting, go to a help center or find other activities to do. Playing a football game, lifting weights, drawing, writing...these are all activities that can help you get your mind off lusting."
I am not very good at trying to help you with your lust through the secular perspective because I do not view the world in that way. You wouldn't know it just by speaking to me over the forum, but I wasn't very confident when I offered the secular advice. This is because I am religious and know how to deliver advice on lust through a religious perspective. You also see things from a religious perspective because you are Christian. If you are not (don't worry, I don't think you are lying), ask someone who isn't religious for help. They can help you over come your lust by offering secular advice.
Religious perspective: This is how someone like CrossEyed7 might view lust: "Lust is bad because it fulfills selfish and sinful desires; it serves to benefit no one but yourself. It can also cause you to bring harm to your fellow neighbor, and it disconnects you from the good in the world, and ultimately, God. To stop lusting, think about the Christian moral code you are supposed to uphold. If that still doesn't work, pray about it or go to church and ask for help."
This is the best way I can help you because I see things through a religious perspective. Even though I suggested that you find secular advice, that in no way suggests that I am not Christian. I did that to differentiate between the two types of ways that can influence you to stop lusting. Because you are a Christian, I did my best to aid you through religious means. I just had to elaborate on this because you questioned whether or not ShadowBrain, who agreed with my conclusion, was a Christian.
That was even more perverted then anything I have ever wrote.
Boo Dudely was just joking. He does not think that you should be castrated. You, on the other hand, have openly admitted that you never kid about lusting after a woman's body. Yes, it's disgusting when you post about castrating another member (I don't know if I should laugh), but it's even more disgusting when you actually mean what you say about sex.
I'm just trying to help you. I've seen a lot of Christians claim they are faithful and then practice something that goes against their moral code.
-
That was even more perverted then anything I have ever wrote.
It works for dogs.
-
Actually, I'm cool with lust, as long as it's within acceptable boundaries. What I was agreeing with was how PL said it was kind of hypocritical for MJ, an alleged Christian, to profess such thoughts (though I also agree with him on the fact that you don't have to be religious to have a "religious" viewpoint).
...Oops, now they'll be on my case.
-
What's going on here?
-
We're revoking MushroomsJunkies... junk for the good of woman kind.
-
I feel a sudden, bizarre urge to see some sort of cartoon of everyone on the FF doing that (discreetly, of course. Maybe all of our backs to the viewer, huddled in a circle).
-
You all say your not Christians, yet you all talk like you are. I don't understand.....
Nope, I can't remember ever saying I wasn't a Christian (to settle it, I am).
-
"Lust is bad because it can lead to rape.
Yes, but I am not nearly that bad. I would never do anything like that.
You also see things from a religious perspective because you are Christian. If you are not (don't worry, I don't think you are lying
I wasn't a Christian when I got into this obsession/addiction, now I can't get out.
-
Actually, now that you're a Christian, the Bible requires you to believe you can (Philippians 4:13)...
-
Why do you always have to come up with a good come back Turtlekid!!!??? Lol, I'm just kidding.
-
Yes, but I am not nearly that bad. I would never do anything like that.
I wasn't a Christian when I got into this obsession/addiction, now I can't get out.
It's okay, MJ. To be honest, I am still struggling with lust everyday, and I've been a Christian for a very long time. You're going to mess up from time to time...it's part of being human. You just need to know how to control it without it ruling your life.
-
Christians fall into sin, but not dive into it. And it's a good idea to stay away from those lakes in the first place, especially if your balance isn't very good.
-
It smells like Pat Boone in here.
Yuck.
-
Anyone else see Heroes? Great premiere!
-
Angela is Sylar's mother?!? WTD?!
-
I kinda liked Spider-Suresh. And I was elated when Bob died. I don't much like his replacement, though.
-
For goodness sake. I keep reading the topic title as "TV this fail." But since I only get one channel, I guess my TV does fail...
-
And then I saw the premiere of NCIS tuesday... It was also very good, but at the beginning... Ziva as a lounge singer? [wtd]!?
-
For goodness sake. I keep reading the topic title as "TV this fail."
"TV This Autumn", perhaps?
-
The The Office premiere was pretty good, but I'm really starting to wonder whether anybody ever does any work there.
-
Heroes premier was great. BEST LINE OF THE WHOLE THING:
"Eat your brain? Claire, that's DISGUSTING."[/spolier]
-
I just can't get over two things about the premiere though:
1. How on earth will they stop Sylar now?
2. Once again incapacitating Peter? That is so last season! Let's see him kick Sylar's butt already!
-
I want to know what happened to the thing about how if you shoot an invulnerable person in the head or otherwise destroy their brain, you kill them For Real. Now apparently they can never die, at least according to Sylar. Although I guess that change was already implied when HRG recovered from getting shot in the eye, which had to have hit his brain.
-
Or maybe their brain has to be completely destroyed, such as Cell's (from DBZ).
