Hurra , another fantastic Year with TMK begins. Congratulations Deezer and the rest of the TMK Staff.
A little question:
Could be on TMK a Topic like Japanese > English called: USA > Europe?
-
Happy Birthday!
This web site is a very cool place. I owe it many things, including: my devotion to game music, most of my NES games in Animal Crossing, a heightened interest in Japanese, many fun discussions in the forums, and a really neat Mailbag message that was never posted (because I never would have written it if not for TMK).
Deezer, MEGAߥTE, J. J., and David, thank you! Do whatever it takes to keep up the good work—slow updates are better than no updates!
I posted in BORED!! With a pinch of salt.

Happy Birthday. May I start off by saying, You guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of the best video game sites on the net! (Take that Pokemon.com!) Here I find info on my favorite games and also music. I also like the fan fiction. Happy Birthday TMK!
Mariomania is still running wild! Whatcha gonna do Bowser, When Mario runs wild on you!

Well, that makes at least 3 years I've been reading this site.
Yoshizu, most of the time on the Japanese to English pages, they list the PAL differences as well.
I fear the monkey in your soul.
-
They don't list the difference at the GCN and N64 games.
Best example:"Bravissimo" in SMS
And now for something completely different... THERE ARE 2 GHOST ON MY GRADE PHOTO!!! (*PANIC*)
-
Oh, really? I hadn't noticed.
In that case...
I fear the monkey in your soul.
-
Happy Belated Birthday!! The part about a possible update of the fanart section is what caught my eye. Maybe I sould send in some of mine...
-
Thanks guys!
Yoshizu: I don't have enough material to start a USA -> PAL section.
-
Deezer...
I know the most of EU/PAL games (because I'm German) and I visit long time ago NOE in Großostheim.
And now for something completely different... THERE ARE 2 GHOST ON MY GRADE PHOTO!!! (*PANIC*)
-
Hmm...why didn't Trainman just post here instead of making a new topic? Maybe because it was so far down the list...

Oh, I had no idea that this thread (with the weird coincidence that the thread names were exactly the same as mine) was created a year earlier. I thought it was made right after mine.
I am sorry for making a useless topic and if you read my post *before* this editing post, please disregard it.
Do you ever get so mad that you hit something, then when you hit whatever you were gonna hit, it hurts making you even MORE mad?

I don't think it was a coincidence. You had the exact same intent, wishing TMK a happy birthday.

I would say more, however I am too busy playing video games, so I'll be brief...
Happy Birthday TMK!

Only when I''m tired do I come up with random rambling signatures like this one. "Are you a Mario fan? What? You don''t like Mario? Die!"

Indeed, that was good foresight. I remembered TMK's birthday to be somewhere in the March 20's, but I couldn't remember exactly. Until now.
-
*moves nintendoexpert89 higher up on list of fav FF members, then start talking to self. "Let's see. Should nintendoexpert89 and Nameneko be above or below Deezer?" </sarcastic evil voice>
Happy Early Birthday TMK. Thanks for the great site guys, but it's a shame TMK wasn't founded on March 10th.
-
That makes 4 years of regularly going to the site for me.
I first started coming the Summer after its 4th birthday.
-
Oh, March 24th still works, Luigison. It's Mar24, or "Marza," which sounds like "Mars-a," which is probably how Mario would pronounce the name of the planet that we would choose to live on if the choice was his to make (and if he based his choice simply on color and coincidental phonetic similarity).
Okay, so maybe that was a bit of a stretch.
"He is not a fool who gives up what he cannot keep for the sake of what he can never lose."
-
"Bravissimo..."
Wasn't it "Piantissimo II" or is he referring to something else...?
I was looking at the dates and saw that the first post was created the 24th of this month, then as I scrolled down the dates started to say the 23rd, then finally, the 25th.... but I remember this my first post here being like months ago.. or like last year or something ----(relative to this thread, BTW).----
"What's-a goin' on here?"
ED___it: Yoshizu, German? SPITZE! A person to speak a bit of German to. I'm in German 1 in school, so... I kinda suck, but oh well. w00t.
Also, I just realized I had 1413 posts! WHAT?! I thought I had like 800, or even less since I hadn't visited this place in weeks. Gah, weird. That averages out for the year to be around 2 posts a day.. hurra.

TMK's Birthday... is 2 days... before mine. Man, that's freaky! Happy birthday to TMK!
It''s funny until someone gets hurt. Then it gets hilarious!
-
Well, a very happy birthday to TMK! Hopefully, this year will go as well as (or better than) last year (depending on what your opinion was on THIS year).
-
Il Piantissimo, Trainman.
And yes, a very happy birthday to TMK.
Mine comes in about 13 more days.

"Thanks for visiting, and check back again next year for an even shorter birthday special." ← Now that's what I call some quality Deezer humor! Yeah!
Thanks for the birthday 'bag!
That was really nice of you guys to put my message at the top. I appreciate it. ;)
Thank you yet again for answering my questions.
Sapphira, that was a totally cool drawing you made! Thank you thank you thank you!! ^_^
In response to David: It has been a very long time since I've had any sort of communication with you, and I couldn't think of a question to ask you at first. But then I remembered that I didn't know if you would be going to E3, so I wanted to ask you about that—in a non-boring fashion. That's weird the pickup part came in. As for the pink interior, I just found it funny for one, but pink is also sort of the color that I would "associate" with you because I sent you that Kirby thing.
Luigison, get to work!
After Sapph's drawing, MEGAߥTE's response to Yoshisaurus Rex was my favorite part of that mailbag. It was super interesting, and I learned something important from it.
Why are paragraphs in the mailbag separated by only one carriage return (or line break) now?

Yes, I believe that letter was my stupidest and most interesting one yet. And who woulda thunk that MB's name had so much significance? Wow. I liked the part where Deezer said he wanted infinite knowledge and infinite wealth, and then acted liked it was not that big a deal.
Leroy Wells: Can ya dig it?!?!
EDIT: Happy Birthday Tea Im Kay!
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts. But I think we can all agree that Mario rules and that''s a fact!

Nice posts Watoad. Here's another one.
-
> Why are paragraphs in the mailbag separated by only one carriage return (or line break) now?
Space efficiency. Some people format their letters really terribly, so I try to normalize them to some extent.
-
I want to wish Happy Birthday to TMK which is the best website ever. Keep up the good work.
I just remembered a quote from a play I recently saw called Sugar which is a musical based on Some Like It Hot. I modified it to show TMK great thanks.
"Thanks TMK, you've been swell."

I think that there should be a celebration next year.

TMK's birthday is 2 days before mine. Happy birthday, TMK, and may loads more follow!
-
All right, TMK's birthday is tommorow! Any bets on how short Deezer's birthday special is going to be? :D
-
I bet It'll say "BIRTHDAY."
-
Happy Birthday TMK! I am proud to say that I have called this fine forum home for about 3 years now. And now, it's better than ever!
-
TMK is 9 now. Huzah!
-
That's incredimazing. It deserves a word to be made up about it. Incredimazing...
-
Two and a half more hours. :P~
-
Deezer, have you written a birthday special yet? I can't wait to read it.
-
I don't know you TMK, but happy 9th B-Day anyways!!!
-
G-Dawg, THIS is TMK.
TMK= The Mushroom Kingdom=This website

Yeah I got that a couple of minutes after I posted. My brain is working kid of slow. TMK, ok what does that stand for. Oh yeah The Mushroom Kingdom XD
-
I get to be first to wish Happy Birthday. Haha! *triumphs*
(Post not valid in wacky time zones)
-
Happy Birthday, TMK!!! Here is a-watchama-callit I made for you guys!!! Note: I gave TMK the second Happy Birthday!
-
That new game database looks awfully nice now. I think it looks a lot better than the old system.
-
Happy Birthday TMK! I love this site, It's best website for Mario Info! Keep on Gaming Deezer, Sapph, Lizard Dude, Chupperson Weird & David Dayton! TMK 4 Ever!
-
Yay, nine years of TMK greatness. (I've said in the past I first came to TMK the Summer after its 4th birthday.)
Now let's wait until the forum users are actually YOUNGER than the site.
-
Tell me you are kidding.
TMK is The Mushroom Kingdom .net!
Wowwie...
-
Wow, to believe 3 years ago I first discovered TMK. Seems like just yesterday when I was reading the mailbags just to see J.J.'s negative responses and studying the trivia section like it was an admission to college. I feel old.
-
A big happy birthday to TMK for supplying us with the best Mario everything!
-
Yes! A huge birthday party! This is by far the best Mario site on the net!
-
I feel old.
Actually, I feel young because I didn't realize the site was so old. Hooray for feeling young!
-
But we are all older than the site! I don't think there are any 9 year olds here. Not that I know of.
-
I bet Deezer feels old. Keep it up, Deezer, and the rest of TMK staff, too.
-
I feel old.
You feel old? I've been visiting this site since it was one or two years old. I can't believe it's already been three years since I first met many of you, and that I've been staff for 2 1/2 years.
-
Yeah, I remember back when Sapphira joined. It was about a week, give or take a couple days, after I had joined. Now look at her.
-
Wow, you must've been here for a while, Jman. I've just been here since Feb '05. But, it's been fun. *Salutes TMK*
-
Wow. In two days I'll have been here for 4 years, and that's not even half of TMK's history. Amazing how far this site's come, eh?
-
*high-fives Hyrulian
February 4th, 05. 3 weeks before my 13th birthday. However, I've been looking at TMK since a long time ago. I remember little phrases at the tops of the pages. Stuff like "Better than a warm Cricket Pie," and "Trust the Fungus." I don't know when that was, but I remember it clearly.
-
Heh, I remember signatures that once said "I fear the monkey in your soul" and "Inside all of us is a little elf that tells us to burn things". Now the only question is who had them? I can't seem to remember.
-
"Inside all of us is a little elf that tells us to burn things" That was Sapphira's
I don't remember the other one.
-
One of my favorite sigs is Yo`ster B.'s sig, "*Looks inside of a candy bar wraper. Reads:* You have just won a Sony Plays.... Oh it`s crap!!".
-
"I fear the monkey in your soul" was Chup's sig.
-
Hehe, it feels like we're all buddies now. ^_^ Almost like we've all known eachother for a long time... I remember how bad I was during my new days to this site. I said so many bad things... I'm embarrased now...
Deezer sure has done a fine job. I wonder how he got started... TMK's FFs started... when again? 2000? But I'm actually pretty late to the party, huh?
Sapphira was one of the best and most noticable changes to these forums in my opinion. Without her, these forums would probrobly be dirty and full of flaming. It's kind of hard to explain, though. If you read through all of the history, you'd see what I mean.
This reminds me-- My friend's birthday is tomorrow! I wonder if he'll like my gift. =P Oh, and he also gets his driver's license. Sweet 16 is so sweet!
My favorite signature was Watoad's "[/hogwash]". I smiled every time I looked at that. Watoad always gave me a fuzzy feeling inside whenever he posted. He's probrobly the funniest member(mod/admin) on the FFs besides Lizard Dude. Lizard Dude and Watoad brought most of the laughs.
-
Deezer walks into a bar with a parrot on his shoulder. The bartender says, "Whoa! Where'd you get that?" The parrot replies, "The Fungi Forums - they got 'em all over the place!"
-
Even if this is a little late, I just wanted to wish TMK and its wonderful staff a happy 9th birthday. May many of your wishes come ture for the future.
-
Happy Birthday TKM.
Thanks for giving us the scoop on Mario when we needed it. Here's to more Mario Madness!
-
I'm embarassed of my behavior when I first came here, too. I'm sorry the mods had to waste time to tell me about my so not grammerrific posts and my little spamming. XD *blush*
-
Man, if Khold and pt_peach are embarrased of their behavior when they first arrived, I'm absolutely ashamed of mine's back in 2003 and early 2004. Bypassing the censors, encouraging flame wars... no matter how fun it was.
-
Hey, there is some bad things with the new TMK...
The mailbag.
I tried sending something in, and it was refused, telling me:
There is no mailbag of that name"
or something. Or was it mailbox?

A Big Happy Birthday To You, TMK, For Everything You Have Done And Will Continue To Do.
May you continue to support the Mario fanbase and kingdom and glorify that which has shaped our lives.

Happy 10th.
HEY where's the good luck candle on that bread?
-
Happy birthday!
At least TMK isn't a bratty ten year old...just kidding.
Great bread cake!!!
-
I've been coming to this site for five years, and I have to say, happy birthday. May my next five years visiting TMK be just as good.
-
Been on the site for five years and the boards for two. This site is great. Happy Birthday, TMK.
-
HEY where's the good luck candle on that bread?
Good luck candle? That would make eleven. (That's ridiculous. It's not even funny.)
Great bread cake!!!
Oh no, it's just bread.
-
Happie Berthdae, Tee Em Kay.
-
What?
-
I don't know whether to feel young being only five years older than a Mario fansite, or to feel old for the same reason.
-
Thanks everyone!
Max, the birthday bread looks... delicious. :-S
-
Happy 10th! And thank you, MaxVance, for that amusing celebratory bread that I saw at 5:30 this morning.
-
Ah, another year at this tremendous site. I first discovered this site in '99, been on the forum since '03.
-
I'm a day late and a bread cake short.
-
10 years old...same goes for The Metroid Database, but that's a few months older though. It is still impressive.
-
Today I wish a happy 11th birthday to this site. Sadly, I have no bread.
-
I have a full beard now. It didn't take 11 years.
-
11 years ago I was 7 going on 8 =/
Happy Birthday. TMK.
-
What's even creepier is that we've had a few members who are younger than TMK.
-
Happy Birthday, TMK. I was 7 years old when the site was created.
-
Wow. TMK is as old as I am.
-
I was 7 too. I'm having a hard time believing it's been a year already since the 10th anniversary, let alone 10 since the site started, or about 6 or 7 since I found it.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY :) and I have nothing else to say...
-
Happy createday dear TMK! ;D
-
Wow. TMK is as old as I am.
That's certainly creepy.
-
That's certainly creepy.
I thought you had to be at least 13 to be on this forum?
-
I thought you had to be at least 13 to be on this forum?
I'd say it's more of a guideline than an actual rule; the general overview is that most sub-13 year olds aren't mature enough to participate in a forum environment effectively.
-
I'm pretty sure it's an actual rule. If they're under 13, Deezer sends their parents a letter pleading with them to not let their kid join the forums, as there are already enough grammar-neglecting IQ-droppers hanging around. Unfortunately, the parents sign the paper and thus launch another cannonball into our diminishing hull of decency.
-
If it was an actual rule, Deezer would just send a letter saying "No, your kid can't join until he/she is 13, come back when you're older." So, someone can't really be banned for being too young, just that the underage people who are banned just generally turn out to be morons.
Still, you can get idiots of all ages; being older didn't stop Fairemaster from being banned, for example.
-
I doubt Fairemaster was as old as he proclaimed.
-
I have a full beard now. It didn't take 11 years.
-
I'd say it's more of a guideline than an actual rule; the general overview is that most sub-13 year olds aren't mature enough to participate in a forum environment effectively.
Wow, I can relate to that. *gets shot
Anyway, Happy Birthday TMK!
-
I'd say it's more of a guideline than an actual rule; the general overview is that most sub-13 year olds aren't mature enough to participate in a forum environment effectively.
It's US law to require parental consent for members under 13.
-
Wow, it's an actual law now? When was that enacted?
-
I'd say it's more of a guideline than an actual rule; the general overview is that most sub-13 year olds aren't mature enough to participate in a forum environment effectively.
I'm under 13 and I'm not that immature

The smart thing to do would be not to give out your age at all.

Happy Birthday, TMK.
-
TMK is almost old enough to join the forums now!
-
Meta-LOL.
But yes, happy birthday... surroundings.
-
More interestingly to me, this means that it's been about ten years since I first found TMK. That also means I've been coming here for just over half of my life now.
-
Happy birthday TMK. That sounded a bit awkward.
-
I found TMK in '05, and joined the forums sometime in late '07 or early '08. I was thrilled at the release of the "new" Mariopedia, circa late spring '08.
-
I found TMK as early as '05 looking for Mario sound effects for a game I was making. I didn't actually register on the forums until much later.
-
Happy birthday TMK!

Happy Birthday, TMK! When I was about 8 or 9, I found this website thanks to another website called Luigi's Hotspot. Hm, I can't find the link, but it lead me here. I always checked the front page (the updates) because I didn't know my way around the site very well. Plus, I wasn't aware that there was a Fungi Forums here. Anyway, Happy Birthday. And may the next 8 years be just as great.
-
I happened upon TMK because I was looking for a place to spew my filthy liberal propaganda.
-
What a coincidence... I mean, I--well, my first post says it all.
-
This is my sixth year as a member of the forums, but I've been a fan of the site for this entire decade.
-
I've been around since I was about 8, but joined about a year ago.
-
This is my sixth year as a member of the forums, but I've been a fan of the site for this entire decade.
Same. I didn't actually join the FF until 2 years after discovering it. Come June 12, this'll be my fourth year here, which is a little hard to believe. Time sure flies, huh.
-
This is my sixth year as a member of the forums, but I've been a fan of the site for this entire decade.
Mine, too! I joined the forums exactly 6 years ago today! ^_^
...And I've been visitng TMK since 1999. Gosh, I feel old.
Speaking of old, next year there will be people younger than the site who can join the forums without parental permission. ._.
-
Sapph, you joined about two or three weeks after I did. Those were some good times. I don't have nearly as much time for this place as I used to. But I promise I'll frequent this place more this summer.
