The in-game graphics are just low-res conversions of the prerendered CG in the manual (and elsewhere).
Ah, interesting tidbit... I knew the in-game graphics were converted 3D models (ala Donkey Kong Country)--but I never realized the models used in official game art were the same.  It makes me wonder, then, if the "bubbly" appearance happened after the fact--the result of getting features to show up well in teensie resolution.

Uhh, I thought he was referring to the live-action movie.  In the second question quoted in the original topic, Miyamoto concurs that Disney was the production company.  By the third post, Mario Maniac mentions that Disney owns Buena Vista--whose name shows up at the end of the live-action movie... Right?

Then, we started talking about sluts.

What do you mean?
Ah, I think I know what he's talking about.  Though, I always thought of it as being carved out of rectangular blocks (at least the in-game graphics; the instruction booklet art looks more "bubbly.")

Haha, see?  That's the problem.  Then what's the deal with Dragon Coins and the SMW manual?

Clearly, it is the irides, though... You must agree.

I was just wondering:  Have we ever settled the issue of whether Yoshi's a dragon or a dinosaur?  Because if not, I've got an itchy mouse finger on the poll button right 'ere...

It is "awkward."[/img]
Oooh, and Bird Person mentioned it, like, 50 pages ago.  Awkward.

Of course I've played RE4!  I just don't remember any "incidents" with "Ashley."  Oh, and "thanks" for the birthday "wishes"!  \o/  YAY!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR (to) PLAYING MY GAME!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who hears this.

Thanks for the impressions, everyone!  It was encouraging to hear that SMG has a lot of the Mario style to it.  And here I was thinking things might slowly diminish after SM64.

Actually, if you look closely you can see that Mario had blue irides in SMRPG.  In M&L, they removed the irides, and he's all pupils.

I think that's the difference Mario Maniac was hinting at.

Chup hit the nail on the head.  As part of the post-high-school population, not only do I agree with his analysis--but I enjoy the practical outcome:  games that are satisfying even if you don't have hours to dedicate.  Why someone who does have hours to dedicate to games would be incapable of similarly enjoying such creations is beyond me.  Maybe there's a ratio of free time vs. game time that produces optimal satisfaction.

Oh, but I'd amend "over high school" to "over high school non-pot-smokers."
