I may be horribly inattentive but how long has The Chef been a mod? Because he just locked a topic Glorb bumped.

The funny thing is, when that thread got linked to, I thought "I should pull a Glorb and super-bump that..."

But really, why is reviving a really old topic a lockable offense?

I don't want a mod who locks bumped topics. >:(

And I seriously don't understand why people whine over Glorb's antics. They're funny as hell.

Chef became a mod just recently.

I don't want a member who bumps threads for no reason but I'm stuck with Glorb.

But I will agree, in this case I don't personally think locking the thread was necessary. I'm not going to undermine Chef and unlock it, but you have to realize it's a judgment call on the part of the mod/admin.

If you actually want to know why something was done, ask them instead of criticizing.

I was wondering about Chef's modhood as well, but I figured that he held the title for a year and I just hadn't noticed.

I just got made a mod at the beginning of the week.

For the record, I locked the topic because a) Glorb's bump really was pointless and b) the topic was fairly idiotic to begin with.

I still don't see how it hurts anybody to have an "old" and/or "stupid" thread revived.

It wasn't so much that the thread was revived that it was Glorb bumping it for no discernable reason, which I'm pretty sure is against the rules.

I just broke the rule that says you're not to complain about a moderator's actions.

This is just really weird, for years you were a fellow regular member and now we have to answer to you. :/

It sure feels weird being the guy who has to watch the place.

Then again, considering how many of the other mods have vanished I guess its almost a necessity to have some new blood on the force.

IS THE CHEF THE ONLY ONE AROUND HERE WHO GIVES A DUKAR ABOUT THE RULES?

EM just alerted me about this bizarre turn of events. I'm going into yellow alert; from now on any post I make will be tailor-made to offend Chef and see how long it takes before I get a 3-Week Preffered Member Semi-Ban.
