Out since February 11 in Japan, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/mlrpg3) was finally released in North America yesterday. Bowser's Inside Story is the third game in the Mario & Luigi series and is compatible with all Nintendo DS models.

YESSSS. I must get it eventually...
-
Got it last night after finishing my homework! So far, I'd say it ranks along side SS
I have happy! Hopefully it's longer than PiT
-
I have to wait nine more days until I can get it. My birthday can't come soon enough it seems...
-
My birthday is actually today, but I'm going to get it on Friday. I'll have more time to play it then and it'll feel more special. ;)
-
So far, so good. It's a good thing there's so many cool new battle mechanics, though, because the rest is fairly been-there-done-that.
-
Please tell me that Bros Items are abolished. PLEASE.
-
There are items that are and/or function like Bros. Items did, but they're now called "Special Attacks", run off of a second-tier MP-like system, and don't have to be used to beat even the smallest of battles.
-
This is great! Ranks alongside SS!
Why didn't Bowser recognize Fawful???
-
I haven't played the game yet, but..I believe Bowser and Fawful had minimal contact in the first M&L game. someone correct me..
-
I got this game today and I'm hooked. I played 4 hours straight, ate dinner, and then played 2 more hours straight before finally stopping.
-
Nintendoobsessed/Toad: Well, Bowser was unconscious or amnesiac for most of Superstar Saga.
Beat the game on Friday. I'd say... it was better than PiT, but still not as good as the original. My only major beef was that the Mushroom Kingdom was composed of pretty generic areas with weirdly generic names. Of course, this was probably to place focus on the areas inside Bowser, but as some of us established a while back, that wasn't exactly incredibly original either.
And was it too easy? Yes, but it's a DS game--that's a given.
-
Ketsui Death Label and many, many other DS games would like a word with you regarding that last statement.
-
I wouldn't say it's too easy. As a matter of fact, it seems to me that the action command timing was made just a tad harder than in the previous two games. It could just be my imagination playing tricks on me though.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story get. While not as good as the original, it's a definitive improvement over its predecessor in just about every thinkable aspect.

I think it's the Star Candies, Retry Clocks, and Beans that killed any challenge.

I think this is true, at least for the Jump attack. In the previous two games, you could be anywhere from halfway through the jump to right on the enemy's head when you press the button and still get the action command, but in this one, you really have to get the timing right just before you land on the enemy to get that second attack.
I haven't beaten this game yet, but it's really good so far.

Yeah, I think I'm about 4/6 done with the game, and it is really good!

I disagree with at least one aspect: Music
So far, I think that one particular song is played too often, especially when you're playing the Bros. inside Bowser's body, where the same song will play until you move Bowser to another area. I also find the music less varied. In Partners In Time and Superstar Saga, about every area had a unique song, while this game plays the same song for many different areas, including The Tower of Yikk and the Path to Bowser's Castle.
-
Yes, I found the soundtrack lacking as well compared to its predecessors, but there's still a few catchy tunes.
Also, what's inside the Preservation Room = WIN
-
Alrighty. My birthday was yesterday, so I finally got my hands on this.
Though actually, I've only put in an hour so far, as I'm playing with my other presents too. :P
-
Since Tuesday I've logged nearly thirty hours into it. That being said, I'm hopelessly stuck against Blizzard Midbus due to my inability to inhale his HP-restoring cronies fast enough. Apparently, Nintendo expects you to be able to mash that X button faster than a sewing machine on steroids.
-
I just beat the final boss and I must say, my biggest issues with PiT were addressed in this game (the lack of side quests and fun mini-games). I think I still might favor Superstar Saga because I think it was funnier and more challenging (though I must wonder if the games are getting easier or if I'm just getting better). Oh, and by the way...is Fawful now dead?! Sniff...I have sadness.
-
Yes, it never occured to me how that would affect you, of all people... well, you know, it's not really like it was official that he died--he just blew up. There's been a lot of other evil-doers that just turn into some etheral substance and come back later.
-
In case you folks weren't aware, completing Challenge mode or whatever it's called unlocks the game's greatest challenge: Click for semi-spoilers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S8h9sopECs).
-
You fight Bowser inside Bowser?!?
My mind is boggled...o_O
-
No. You actually fight Bowser X, who is inside Bowser.
-
Oddly enough, the Prima guidebook gives no mention of Bowser X's very existence, let alone strategies for reaching and beating him. This is either the result of laziness on the editors' part or an instance of Prima opting to omit parts of the game in their guide for suspense's sake, thus eliminating the entire point of writing the guidebook.
-
LoL I reached twice to "him" but fist time I runned out of time yesterday I reached to him again and he beated me with his Goombas, I will train the Bros. now to Lv. 60.
-
I have a question! I haven't played the game yet, but was wondering if Midbus (is that spelled right?) is some sort of midboss, as it's name seems to imply? You don't have to go into great detail, just a simple yes or no will do.
-
I guess you could say that. It depends on your definition of "midboss", though.
-
Not really, at least not in the traditional sense like SMB3's Boom-Boom. You only fight him two or three times throughout the adventure.
-
Beat the game last night. Now I'm working on the special attack challenges. But...Yoo Who Cannon is impossible due to being blind in one eye and having a terrible short-term memory. The perfectionist in me is crying.
-
I had problems with the Yoo Hoo Cannons at first, but then I noticed that there are exactly four Mario cannons and four Luigi cannons. Try to remember just one brother's four cannons. Hope that helps.
-
Yeah, I just remember one bro's cannons, too. Still, it just starts going so fast... I don't think I have an "A" on any of those.
-
I've already tried that, but my one working eye simply can't catch that stuff fast enough. No matter. I told myself that I'm not even going to try it anyway.
-
Assuming I'm wrong, I'm not going to look and ruin the surprise, but I don't think you get anything incredible out of the deal, anyway.
-
To be specific, obtaining an 'A' rank in the Cholesteroad's Yoo Who Cannon challenge nets you a pair of Bros. Socks, which doubles the wearer's defense if he's carrying his KO'd brother. In other words, don't bother. Besides, all you get for acing every challenge is the Master Wear, a slightly inferior, physically-oriented alternative to the A-OK Wear.
Say, I've heard that the game's ending differs slightly depending on your level at the time of completion. Has anyone else caught wind of this?
-
Well, when you beat the game, your ranks are shown, and I'd assume that having the highest rank for the Bros and Bowser would change something.
