Is Kamek really A Koopa Troopa with glasses and a wizard robe?

Do Baby Bowsers come in different colors?

No, Kamek is a Magikoopa, first introduced in Mario World. Do you remeber the Yoshi Island stage where Kamek would appear, shoot magic, then disapear? That's about what he did in the first one...
