This topic is about the anime series based upon the Mario Bros.
Here on themushroomkingdom.net i've seen some info about the SMB Great Mission to rescue prinsess Peach and the Super Mario Bros Amada series.
If you count each amada story we have a total of 4 animes.
But japan still has more Mario anime that I think nobody knows about.

First of all the two anime stories im talking about are short videos like the amada serie and don't involve the Mushroom Kingdom.
Nonetheless I think it should be added to the website that there are still two anime videos with the Mario bros.
Ive seen one of them and basically the purpose of the videos is disaster education to teach children the dangers of fire and traffic.

Heres a recap of Super Mario Fire Brigade:

"The story starts off with a japanese Girl playing Super Mario Bros.3 (The makes me believe that the anime was made around 1988 when SMB3 was released on the Famicom) on her Nintendo Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) while her jonger brother is watching.
As siblings do; the start arguing about the game.
Just when everything seems to go right in the game, There Mother comes in and makes her loose the game.
The jonger brother is happy finally he gets a shot to play the game.
Their mother asks the daughter to go on a errand but just when she's writing the note the girl steals some fireworks.
Together with her little brother the decided to go outside and fire off some fireworks.
At the same time nearby the Mario brothers are fixing a truck (this surprised me actually).
Luigi notice some fireworks and the Mario bros. decide to check it out.

~ Now of course in a anime where the teach the dangers of fire its not strange that something had to go wrong and it did. ~
One of the fireworks lands in a garbage container.
The fire starts to spread fast but luckly the Mario brothers are there to extinguish the fire.
~ After a long speach about why fireworks are dangerous. We even get to see other things that could cause fires in homes ~
The children now see in that the where wrong and return back home.
The jonger brother continues playing SMB3.
Finally he gets to level 2 of world 1 wth, happy as he is he almost tells their mother how he and his sister met the Mario brothers.
When suddenly there drunken father gets home.
Just when the father is about to get a good smoke a earthquake starts to happen making the father drop his sigaret.
The earthquake stops and the father extinguishes the fire from the sigaret with a newspaper.... okay -_-
Next the big sister notices a fire in one of there neighbors houses.
Call the fire department the sister says, in just a few seconds the fire brigade arrives at the scene.
No way sins when are Mario brothers with the fire brigade ?!
Ones again the Mario bros extinguish a fire and save the day. The end."

Not a very great anime but still its Mario related. Another surprise to me was that this anime was created by Toei Animation.
I would have loved to go into more detail about the second anime but I haven't found it yet so i can't write anything about nor do I know the name of the second one.

* Edit *

  • The second anime is calt: Super Mario no Koutsuuanzen (スーパー マリオ の 交通 安全) translated: Super Mario Traffic Safety
  • Girl is named: Tatsuya
  • Little Brother is calt:  Kaoru
  • Confirmed both stories are released on VHS
  • Directed by Mamoru Kanbe (whose works include Elfen Lied, Demon Prince Enma, and Cardcaptor Sakura)

After reading some japanese websites I figured out that the two tapes: Super Mario Traffic Safety and Super Mario Fire Brigade.
Are only available for rent in japan for schools.
I even found a website where you can rent Super Mario Fire Brigade although to get it you'll need to open a japanese school and live in japan.
Talk about demanding to just see a tape.

Anway I'll continue see if I can find out some more info about the videos.
Also I noticed that The Great to Mission to resue Princess Peach has no screenshots.
Sins I own a copy I decided to take some screenshots and resize them like the Amada page.

Here are some links if TMK wants to use them:

Neat! This is good stuff, thanks.

Like I said in the reply to your email, can you get non-resized PNG screenshots for us? And without borders please; I add those in the page itself.

No problem I'll just have to rip them again :) I always trow stuff away to save disk space.
Anway I'll make a zip file with all the images.
Im just done with ripping a few png files from my momotaro tape.
I'll now start with the Great mission to rescue Princess Peach although its not as high kwalitie
as Amada, sins I got it from a friend who kind of sucks in converting tapes.
As for the Super Mario Fire Brigade and Super Mario Traffic Safety I don't have any higher images then I already posted here on forums. (However I'll update the post when I find something new).

I'll send the images + commercials to your email. Also sorry for sending two mails to TMK , one to the staff and one to your email but I wasnot sure who I should contact to make my submission.

i'll even trow this picture in, sins i saw that TMK was searching for a video about Mario 128.
Its not a video because I could only find ones filmed with a camera but this picture is a little bit bigger then the ones here TMK.
