I think this is a great idea and is another reason I want a MakerBot.

*NSFW: Do not think about the acronym!  Huh?  Are spoiler tags not working?

Hmm.  Spoiler tags don't seem to work for my version of Chrome, but are fine in IE and Firefox on my machine.

Anyway, The LEGO and K'nex connectors would be the most useful to me.

They don't work in Maxthon either.

On topic: cool. I wonder, would Makerbot adoption force Lego to finally lower their prices a bit (assuming a decade or so for them to give up on trying to stop people from torrenting Legos)?

The cynic in me can't help but point out that we're now looking forward to a future where we don't have flying cars or moon colonies but we can make our own Legos. And then the rest of me replies "Yeah, kinda worth it."

Boy do I wish I would have had this as a kid... would have saved me a lot of Duct Tape.

torrenting Legos
Lost.

But these seem incredibly useful. If you have enough plastic colors, you can make some really cool stuff.

Spoiler tags fixed for Chrome... and probably Maxthon too.

Thanks, but they're still not working in my Chrome:

Code: [Select]
Version 22.0.1229.94 m
Google Chrome is up to date.

Win 7 Pro, but that's not the problem.  I tried this page in an incognito window and the spoiler tags work so it must be one of my extensions causing the problem.

This reminds me of the time someone at Microsoft said something to the effect that half of Windows crashes were caused by third party software.  That's admitting that the other half of the time your OS is crap.

Does anyone here have or have access to a MakerBot or similar device?

I don't know, last time I checked, MakerBots used ABS, the same plastic that LEGO bricks are made from.
