What was wrong with it, aside from being very obviously a kid's show?
Kinopio is the ultimate video game character! Who else can drive a kart, host parties, play tennis, give good advice and items, and is almost always happy??

I've watched a few episodes on YouTube, and my only real complaint is that the animation is creepy.

I watched it, despite knowing nothing about DK at the time.

You can't deny that the guy who voiced Donkey Kong had an impeccable singing voice, however:

Impeccable, but terribly unfitting.

Just be happy it wasn't Diddy's voice.

His singing voice was abysmal, but his speaking voice actually fit him.

To be fair, would someone with his voice be able to sing well?

Probably not.

Actually I sorta take back what I said. There are some things about this show I like:

1. Funky's voice
2. Funky's look (the blonde fur and tan skin adds a lot)
3. Candy's overall character
4. Cranky's voice
5. Dixie's look (again, the blonde fur adds a lot)
6. Bluster
7. K.Rool, Klump and Krusha as a whole.
8. Skurvy's two pirate shanties
9. The Diddy Drop Rap

Otherwise, the CGI is abysmal and DK's voice is atrocious. Also Candy is fugly and Dixie had her entire personality gutted.

Candy is fugly

She is kind of a gorilla.

I have a vision for a new SMB TV show.  Quite simply, it's called: "The New Super Mario Show (catchy, huh?)."  In the opening credits sequence, Toadsworth walks out on a theater stage, pulls a sheet of paper from his vest pocket, and reads: "Ladies and Gentlemen: The New Super Mario Show!"  The curtain behind him opens to reveal a montage of action-packed clips from the series as an epic remix of the SMB theme plays, and the sequence ends with the Bros., Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Toadsworth, and other Toads as needed gathering in front of a TV, which displays the title logo.

Now, with that image in mind, would you buy that as a TV series?

Very '90s. I like it.

Might not fly for a modern cartoon intro, unless they were going intentionally retro, though.
