Well, I guess I'm glad I didn't have to research it myself. I saw that emoticon once as somebody's avatar in Team Fortress 2.

It originally came from the Something Awful Forums, where it was referred to as :awesome:. :awesome: soon spread around the Internet to the point where even the SA Forum Goons couldn't control it.

It originally came from the Something Awful Forums, where it was referred to as :awesome:. :awesome: soon spread around the Internet to the point where even the SA Forum Goons couldn't control it.
Even I learned something new about it this morning.  All I knew before was that it was a meme that found its way to the YouChew Poop community (where it kind of got stolen), and that the emot eventually found its way to DeviantART in the form of a "plz account"
