This is really something you should use the Private Message function for. It's generally accepted that you shouldn't make topics about something that concerns only yourself and another, unless you're asking for advice.
That said, I don't know why you've acquired the custom title of dead, but it most certainly one of the Moderators/Administrators that have changed it, as they're the only ones with that power.
While I will admit that the occassional change in custom title is rather comical, I feel, perhaps, some of the new forums features are being somewhat overused.
