You all know you've always wondered who'd win in a fist fight between Chup and LD. Do not deny it.

I love Chupperson's knuckles on the cover and how ShadowBrain is misspelled in that Lizard Dude Classic Way.

I'd main CashCrazed or Classic TEM.

For some reason I feel like making a cheap Gamemaker game about this.

This might warrant a GameMaker project.  Anyone else interested?

If you were to use sprites for the people, one already exists for Kojinka (http://iansuffix.kontek.net/tmk/kojinkaspritesheet.png), but it's small, missing a walk animation, the trench coat is not complete, and the right arm moves unrealistically. Ah, and there's no fighting animations. Something could be based on it, though.

This is all hypothetical, of course. I don't think anyone would finish a project like that. If only I had SFML working! Then I could make something in C++!
Title: Re: TMK Wii Game
Post by: Kuromatsu on May 03, 2008, 06:18:15 PM
C++ is for serious games.

But wait, what kind of game is it? Like Super Smash Bros.? Street Fighter? A little bit of both? I could totally make sprites for everyone if I knew what they looked like.

Post by: Suffix on May 03, 2008, 06:32:31 PM
C++ is for any games! Depending on what game-making library you're using. SFML is for somewhat simple, 2D games.

Actually, I was only joking about making a real game.  But if we do, I only know gml, not C++.

Hey, GamePro claims in its April issue that J.J. is an unlockable character!
Deezer grabs the Dukar Ball... and unleashes his special attack, "Bread Feeder!"

I get unlocked at the beginning because of spontaneous-ness.

Recently a few people from the Mario Wiki came to #tmk to talk about the particulars of an image for M&L:PiT. It was then that I realized what the story of this game's story mode would be. We have to put aside our petty differences (preferably by beating each other into submission) to defend TMK from the nitpicks of the Mario Wiki.

Their annoying presence, however, might motivate a few more updates.

The front page has been rather quiet these days, hasn't it?

Well, in terms of updates, I suppose, but Super-Jesse was going pretty strong with the "news" a while ago...

He seems to have disappeared again. Apparently, however, he still has time to update his MySpace page.

Ya know... That guy is always randomly on and off of TMK! No offense, SuperJesse, but it makes you start to wonder why he's like an Admiral Mod.

My character probably acts like Hulk Hogan and does various wrestling poses and moves.

I would love to be in this game! Sprites of Toad already exist, so half the work for that character is done. :)
Title: Re: TMK Wii Game
Post by: PaperLuigi on May 28, 2008, 02:39:54 PM
My character would probably just sit in the corner and cry.
Title: Re: TMK Wii Game

Who would want their character to do that?

Sounds more like a Megatokyo game.

Am I in it? Do you have to unlock me??!!
Title: Re: TMK Wii Game
Post by: MaxVance on June 12, 2008, 08:17:54 PM
You would probably be a background character in one of the stages.
Title: Re: TMK Wii Game
Post by: Glitchy on June 13, 2008, 07:42:50 PM
What? I hope I'm like Tom Nook. Everyone wanted him in Brawl even though the "haters" said he couldn't be in it because he's in the background of a stage.

Post by: Kuromatsu on June 15, 2008, 06:38:50 PM
Well I got all of the combat sprites done for my character. All he is missing is "damaged", "guarding/shield" and "Victory/Taunt" poses.

EDIT: It's done.

I plan on doing Kojinka next if that is okay with her, unless she wants to do the sprites herself.

So the game is like Smash Bros. except with punches and kicks instead of regular attacks and smash attacks (and no mid-air attacks, I assume)?
Title: Re: TMK Wii Game
Post by: Kuromatsu on June 16, 2008, 03:53:07 PM
Oh... I forgot the midair sprites. ARGH.

I imagine the game will have four buttons.

A(z on keyboard) = Punch (Side Punch is like the Smash Attack, and the punch changes depending on which direction you move)
B(x on keyboard) = Kick (Basically the same as punch except with kicks.)
C(c on keyboard) = Special (Uses your special moves, you know, like Super Smash Bros' B button)
D(v on keyboard) = Taunt (Do a barrel roll!)

Jump key, I guess will be up arrow key or the "A" key on the keyboard.

EDIT: I'm not so sure about shielding/guarding button though. This calls for customizable controls.
