Is it safe to put stuff on a normal SD card, rather then the lisenced ones by Nintendo? If it is, then what whould happen if I had game data on it and put it in my camera? Or I save stuff on it while theres photos/vidios on it?
Im just asking so I dont screw my wii or camera up. It said I had 14814 blocks left while it was in te Wii. It was a 2 gigabyte
-
It doesn't matter. 2G is the limit for the Wii.
-
I haven't even touched a "Nintendo" SD card and I'm doing fine.
-
Thanks it works. The only thing im worried about is if I press the delete all button while its in my camera. But thanks anywase
-
"Nintendo" SD card? Never heard of them, and, like ShadowBrain, my data is still good.
-
I use this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000EWI8IK
You can get 2G much cheaper, but I like being able to use it with any computer without needing a card reader. It works in my Wii, PS3, HD digital/video camera, and all three of my PCs.
-
"Nintendo" SD card?
SD cards, only the packaging is Wii White and has the Nintendo seal on it. Yeah, there's no difference.
-
Yeah I thought it could only work with the wii, cheap buck to get people to buy them
-
They're still made by SanDisk and everything. Just white.
-
How about the Wii, but... in black! Maybe some goths who would normally get a Ps3 because of color would switch to a Wii then...
-
Why aren't there alternate colors for the Wii?
-
Will my PSP magicgate memory stick 2G work on Wii?

Will my PSP magicgate memory stick 2G work on Wii?
No. Memory Sticks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_Stick_Pro_Duo) are not compatible with the Wii's Secure Digital card (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital_card) slot. SD was designed to compete with Sony's Memory Stick.

They can't even make enough white ones yet.

Plus, who needs different colour schemes? Is there a problem with white?
-
It's not as good as Black.
-
Black shows fingerprints way easier than white!
-
Why you'd be touching your Wii that much, I don't know!
-
Me neither!
-
It's not as good as Black.
Is it possible to actually get a Black Wii?
-
No, there is only White which I beleive is going to be the only color till 2010
-
Well there's people out there that would buy the Wii if they had different color schemes, like black.
-
Not that Nintendo needs to care since all their white ones are being bought right now.
-
^ Sadly, that's true... if they know they'll sell out with their current Wii, they're not going to bother spending the time and money desiging alternate colors...
-
There's always money and screwdriving (http://www.nds-central.com/market-wii.htm).
I don't care much about what color the console is (and wholly grain that's too expensive for some blasted plastic). That's what I look at least when I'm gaming. I do like variation in controller appearance, however, and that's why I got the clear casing for the Wii Remote (http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7115/clearremotejv1.jpg)from that site. But I used the old buttons, as you can see.
Edit: Looking over that site reminds me of older Nintendo handhelds. What happened to good old clear plastic? Opaque is so boring. I always had the purple transparent Game Boy Color when my friends had the vibrant walls of yellow or green. Then, for the Game Boy Advance, the transparent variations were just too frosty and then the SP abandoned transparency altogether...
-
The clear ones have always been the best option
-
Call me a cheater for this, but, I use Datel's Powersaves. Its used for my Brawl stuff (Wii memory ran out of blocks.)
-
Plus, who needs different colour schemes? Is there a problem with white?
Yes, there is. I like my stuff black, thank you. *Points at black GCN, DS Lite, iPod touch (If I liked white more than black, I would get the new white one). Black Wii skin pending.
-
I purchased a SanDisk Wii SD card 1G and am hoping to use homebrew stuff on it like Ocarina.
-
Congrats on wasting your money.
-
Does a Kodak 2GB SD card work with the Wii?
-
Yeah, that's what I'm using right now (I think)!
-
Congrats on wasting your money.
What does that mean? I got the homebrew channel up and running as well as Ocarina by myself!
-
The Wii branded SD card costs at least 3x as much as a regular SD card.
-
Well regular SD cards don't work on the Wii so I had to buy one.
-
That's what they want you to think...
-
It takes something really special for me to say this:
Idiot.
-
No I'm serious I tried several SD cards and they didn't work.
-
Well, everyone else uses non-Wii-branded SD cards with no trouble at all, so you don't know what you're doing.
And you can't use cards bigger than 2GB.
-
Because then the Wii would get GB envy.

Well I don't know maybe it's new firmware upgrades detecting a non-wii brand or something. I knew 2G is the limit so you buy more.
-
Are you trying to say that the 2GB limit is a marketing decision to sell more cards? And as I'm sure others here could also say, 3.3U is giving me no problems with my non-Wii branded SD card.
-
Having the Wii logo doesn't make it physically any different from every other SD card ever.
-

Yes. If you run out of room you would need a new card, wouldn't you? It could be physical damage to my Wii or something else not permitting me to use other non-Wii SD cards.
-
What would be the advantage of getting a new card rather than moving stuff off the card onto a computer? You wouldn't be able to have both cards in your Wii at once.
-
I guess Nintendo thinks people are stupid.
-

That's the funniest post this month.

Nintendo thought right.
-
Well, why else would they make Big Brain Academy?
