Title: MH370 and Survivor?
Post by: Luigison on April 05, 2014, 02:42:52 PM
It wasn't long after I had finished reading Chuck Palahniuk's Survivor that flight MH370 went missing.  My mind quickly put the two together and later when it was suggested that the plane flew South the apparent connection in my mind was even stronger...

If you haven't read Survivor, don't.  It's much darker than Fight Club and doesn't have its affirming qualities or "happy" ending.

... while the book isn't really about an airplane, suicide is a main theme and the latest supposed ping locations make it seem like the ending could have been a plan of whomever was controlling MH370 (if anyone).  I'm not going to ruin the  beginning of the book, but it does make me wonder if anyone on flight MH370 had read it.

Edit:  “The only difference between a suicide and a martyrdom really is the amount of press coverage.”
