Title: Best part of a Burrito
Post by: G-Dawg on March 29, 2006, 08:16:53 PM
The reason why I'm doing this because me and ViRUS had an arguement about it, and I want to prove him wrong.  I know it seems pointless, but you know, why not try it.

The best part of a burito is, indeed, the Meat, no more no less.

Yup Yup.  My stupid friend was saying the rice was, but he's an idiot.

I love beans, cheese, and rice pretty much equally in a burrito. There is not a good way for me to choose between them. I love the cheesy bean & rice burrito at Taco Bell.

I think it's the stuff like salsa and guacamole that sets burritos apart from each other.
Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito

Salsa, definitely. To me, that's what makes or breaks the burrito, although the other stuff is important, as well.

The parts of a burrito are like the members in a band or the sides of the "fire triangle":  You gotta have 'em all, or something's missing.

THE BEANS! I despise the rice in burritos. That's why I eat taco bell burritos (kids meal XD) and maybe that's why I didn't eat El Pollo Loco today.

I also think the meat is the most important part.

I should totally turn Burritomon into a game. I'll at least try...

I had a salsa/bean burrito for lunch. Those things are freakin' good. Not like the cafeteria's signature dish: Crap in a Wrap.

I had burritos for dinner how bout that. It must be a coicidence.

How interesting:  Not even thinking about this topic, I had a burrito last night for dinner--but we were out of tortillas.  Let me tell you:  Bread is not the same.

I fully support Bird Person's endeavors into weird game parodies.

The cheese... mainly because tortillas are qiute bland by themselves and my digestive tract rejects all the other options rather violently.

I have an extremely narrow range of foods that I can eat without them coming back up.

Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito

I think the meat guacamole is the best part. But then again, the burrito has to have everything before it is good. Can you please put guacamole up there?

The cheese... mainly because tortillas are qiute bland by themselves and my digestive tract rejects all the other options rather violently.

I have an extremely narrow range of foods that I can eat without them coming back up.
But isn't cheese one of the worst foods you can eat with that kind of disorder? My uncle has the same thing. But his was very, very serious. He was in the hospital for two months in a near-death state. He was internally bleeding and could only eat by a machine that feed him through the veins. If he ate anything, he'd vomit.
You poor soul.  Don't they have a pill for that?
No, but they can do an high-risk operation.

What an odd topic....

I think the beans are the best because of the gas you get after eating it.

Khold, did you ever consider that different people may not have the same type of problems?
Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito
Post by: Insane Steve on April 01, 2006, 12:56:11 PM
By "violently reject" -- I mean throw up it and whatever else I've eaten in the past few hours after about 3 seconds. It's not a medical condition, at all. To me, if the texture and taste of a food don't match, I can't eat it. It's very odd. I can eat loads of ketchup, but pizza sauce and pasta sauce make me throw up. Very odd.

A pill or operation isn't going to fix this.

Well, from the way he described it, it would seem that he has a lot of the same problems that my uncle has. I didn't mean that he had the same exact disorder. Sorry for the misunderstanding. XD

Where's the lettuce?

I like stuff crunchy, and the best I'll get in a burrito is lettuce. Unless it's an old burrito. Other than that, yeah, meat.

Tortilla. We used to buy make-it-yourself burritos and I'd sometimes eat just the tortilla.

Homemade burritos are like the best.  I think it's a lot easier to go to a restaurant and get one made for you that's not that bad.

Taco Bell owns home in most cases.

I guess, but I don't like how they put all of that extra crap that you don't want on it.  I mean you can take it off, but usually I don't want to sound picky at restaurants.

Taco Bell is a watered down version of any mexican restaurant out there. In fact, most of their food isn't even real authentic mexican food like they claim. It is the lowest of the low on the scale of bad fast food chains.

I completely agree with you on the authenticity of the food. But I don't see that as a negative, I think Taco Bell is much better than real Mexican food.

In my opinion, Taco Bell burritos are the best regular burritos, but homemade breakfast burritos are the best in their category. My friend's dad makes a killer breakfast burrito.
Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito

"Breakfast burritos" really aren't burritos.

I like real Mexican food, but I like Taco Bell better. There may be a couple restaurants that are exceptions to this.

As for tacos, though, La Casita takes the cake.

What the heck is La Casita?
In our neighborhood, well not really it's like 20 miles away, but it's got to be Sal's.  They have pretty good burritos.  My mom makes the best tacos though, for me.

You've never been to Amigos' in the mall yet, have you? They make pretty freakin' good quesadillas. The burritos are probably as good.
Well, my favorite kind of burrito is a BREAKFAST BURRITO. Nothing makes my weekend morning like a breakfast burrito fresh off the frying pan. Or rather, the eggs and stuff inside come off the frying pan, the tortilla doesn't... You have to... put the stuff inside....

Yes they are!! How can you say they aren't? It's stuff wrapped in a tortilla, even if it's not just beef and beans. There's chicken burritos, there's... Taco Bell stuff burritos, soi why can't there be breakfast burritos? You put breakfast in them.

That would be more of a breakfast-rolled-up-in-a-tortilla. You don't put cereal in ham pouches and call it breakfast cordon bleu, do you?
Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito

Whatever. I enjoy my breakfast-rolled-up-in-a-tortila.

Me too.  Yet I was talking about real burritos.  Unless people want me to put eggs and ham (I guess), in the poll.
Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito
Post by: ViRUS on April 04, 2006, 01:50:10 PM
Well i think it's the tortilla, because if you didn't have that you'd just have a pile a crap sitting on your plate all mixed up. Now where's the good in that? And i only said that the rice helps the burrito taste alot better, not that it's the best part.
Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito

I voted for the tortilla, too. It's the foundation of most Hispanic foods, for crying out loud!

Yeah but the meat gives it the meaty flavor.  The very delectable flavor, gosh I'm making myself hungry.

Tortillas=Mexican bread, basically. Help! Deezer is feeding me tortillas!! So yeah, if you're ever at a loss for hamburger buns, rip apart your burger stuff and make a burrito. (So I like replacing my egg sandwich read with tortillas) XP

Is that it? I don't speak foreign languages well... But that's my guess.
Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito

The other part is "Sapphira needs you to help!" or "Sapphira needs you help!" I think the second one is what she said, which wouldn't be correct. It's most likely correct, just in a different tense or something... but what do I know? answer: not too much

Title: Re: Best part of a Burrito

Argh! You want an official translation?? Well, here it is!

Ayuda! Dízer me está alimentando las tortillas! Zafira necesita tu ayuda!
Help! Deezer is feeding me tortillas (not bread)! Sapphira needs your help!

Ayuda comes from "ayudar," or to help. Ayuda is an irregular transformation into a noun. Most verbs would change like this:
   salir     ->   la salida
(to depart) (the departure)

Ayudar doesn't. Perhaps another way to say the last sentence would be "¡Zafira necesista tú ayudarse!" which means "Sapphira needs you to help her!"

Yes, Suffix, I know it's bread. Sapphira changed the word 'bread' into 'tortilla'. I was just taking that from the official TMK quote.

Hmm... I haven't had a burrito in a long time... Now I want to get some Taco-Cabana! Mmmm, their quesadillas are so good! Guacamole, cheese, steak, pico, and grilled tortillas. It always comes steaming fresh, too. G-Dawg has cursed us all with Mexican food cravings!

My my...I must I compliment G-Dawg on his first topic for being a good one.

The beginning, thats what!

Anyway, the meat is the best, but all are needed to make a good burrito.
WIthout the cheese, bean, lettuce, etc, its like eating ice cream with a fork.
