There is some circumstantial evidence to suggest that I'm still alive. Take it with a grain of salt.

20 years have passed since this message board came into being.

I mean, technically, that's kind of cool. Who'd of thunk it, right? That this board still exists? But also...20 years. [darn].

How 'bout an open world Mario game? But instead of long open fields there's plenty of abstract geometry for you to traverse. Levels on your way to levels!

Here's a few of mine:

My personal favorite level: Treasure Hunt: Ancient Pyramid!
A non-linear level. In the first half you have to explore and find the coins to get the key to the pyramid. In the second half you venture into the pyramid itself!
Code: (4421-0000-01F9-E3D8)

My most popular level: Spaceship Shakedown (V.20)
Sneak aboard Bowser's spaceship!
Code:  (D0E5-0000-00D7-CF38)

My hardest level: Super Mario RPG: Smithy's Factory
An artistic re-interpretation of Smithy's Factory. Try to survive.
Code:  (6A63-0000-014B-9CFD)

EDIT: I took down a level for tweaking.

Mario Chat / Re: Is Shigeru Miyamoto Good for Nintendo?
« on: April 05, 2016, 02:29:12 PM »
I'm really not sure how much Miyamoto does anymore. It seems like he's mostly put other people in charge of the key franchises and he occasionally offers advice/issues mandates. His criticism of the early version of Splatoon spurred the team to go farther with the idea and it birthed a new franchise. It's weird, too, that people latch onto the Sticker Star mandate as their default anti-Miyamoto argument, as if it was the worst thing he ever did. It's almost as if they've forgotten the existance of Wii Music.

...Speaking purely from the perspective of Mario lore, I'm happy enough. Especially when compared to the lore and continuity of the Sonic series. Rosalina's characterization might have gone down since Galaxy, but at least they remembered she's some kind of space fairy. By the mid to late 2000's, the Sonic series had forgotten Knuckles' backstory and driving motivations, reduced him to one character trait, and had him appear in games even though his only purpose was to follow Sonic around. I guess one of the advantages of keeping it simple is that things are a lot harder to screw up.

I hope that as more information comes out about this game that Nintendo will give me more reasons than "It's Gorgeous!" to play this game. Because it sure is gorgeous. But if I'm going to spend 50/60 on a game I should probably be looking forward to more than just the visuals.

I was gunning for 10,000 posts but it's looking increasingly less feasible.

I don't think I'll make it there either. : /

Leviticus 18:22

Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

I always thought this one was pretty obvious. Clearly, God meant that if you're going to have sex with a man, you treat him like a man, and have the manliest gay sex in the world.

So Lucas is literally the only playable character in Smash 4 right now who has no direct cross-promotional purpose -- every other character is featured in at least one other game that is currently available on the eShop.

For Japan, it will eventually. Mother 3's going to their VC in January 2016.

For the US it's just like "LOL Blonde boy has psychic powers also Eartbhound!"

Fan Creations / I self published a comic book on Amazon!
« on: November 25, 2015, 02:56:23 PM »
The title is "The Catty Tales of Mr. Weaver" and it's an absurdist drama about a secret society of cats. They have this ancient prophecy that states a human will lead them on a revolution -- but it points towards this dorky computer teacher with dubious credentials. There's a regular edition and a deluxe edition that comes with bonus content. And by the way, the amazon pages have a five page preview on them. Please check it out if you're interested.

Here's a link to Amazon!

I was thinking about how some Koopas walk on all fours when others can  clearly walk on two legs.

I realized that obviously, there must be a caste system. Bowser orders the lowest caste to crawl.

Video Game Chat / Interested in a new Toejam and Earl game?
« on: February 28, 2015, 09:45:13 PM »
Then help get the word out for this nifty kick-starter:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1578116861/toejam-and-earl-back-in-the-groove?ref=nav_search

This is the first time I've ever actually donated to a Kickstarter. I want this game sooooo bad.

I had to buy special geo-magnetic boots so I wouldn't get sucked into Japan.
