Super Mario Run for iOS will release on December 15, Nintendo announced today in a press release.

Launching in "151 countries and regions," Mario's first mobile game will have select content playable for free. To unlock the full game, there will be a one-time charge of $9.99 (USD).

That seems to be Nintendo's way with free-to-play games. Spend money if you want to, but there's a hard cap on how much you can spend. It's really quite friendly.

I don't think that this applies to Miitomo, though. Pretty sure you can spend money indefinitely on that one.
