A few poems inspired from the Mario series that I wrote during school.

"SMW Haiku"
A dinosaur will
Let a plumber ride on him
Once freed from the egg.

"M&L:PiT Haiku"
We travel through time
To the past, which was attacked
By the Shroob menace.

Stanza XIII from "Thirteen Ways of looking at a Cube"
Thwomp, thwomp as fast as you can.
You'll never squish the great Jumpman.
Those cubic creeps with angry eyes
Will never see their master rise.

"Mushroom Colors"
Her eyes glow the brightest blue.
Her golden locks sway on cue.
Her dress pinker than the morning sky.
My passion redder than the hat of mine.
Her peril blacker than my bushy 'stache.
I will jump the green lands of coins of cash
To assure her peachy safety.

"What is a Brother?"
He stays by my side
All through thick and thin.
Standing up for me
During times so grim.
I offer my bro
My deepest support.
Though, I'm tall and green,
And he's red and short.
Nonetheless, though,
We are twin brothers.
And the best of friends.

"A Plumber Remembers"
I remember a dark and stormy night.
I was sleeping like a baby without fright.
Until a deafining crack and rumble
Shook the room with a blinding flash.

I remember jumping awake
Shrieking over the pitter patter of rain.
I felt I'd cry myself a lake.
My efforts to fall asleep were in vain.

I remember a hand resting on my shivering shoulder.
I heard my brother's exhausted, yet comforting voice.
I saw his short silouette nestle under my green covers.
I rested my head near his red bosom.

I remember falling into a peaceful slumber
Never letting go of my sheltering brother.

These are very good.

Don't mind if I post one of my own.

The Mario

Bruised and battered.
Ripped and split.
He hangs on to a final thought.
A memory
Of him and princess.
Lying
In the starlight.

“Star light.”
He says.
He looks up.
The mighty serpent
breaths breath of flames.
He cringes the thought
Of the princess captured.

One thought
Drives him forward.
That destruction
Can be averted
By a single man.
Him.

His eyes
Glisten with
Determination. His feet
Feels light as air.
He jumps up
to his feet.
He is…

The Mario.

                            The Mario Bros: A Tribute

Once from the real world a plumber came.
His sole mission was to fix Manhattan's drains.
He was a hero, the citizens would say,
Going about his work day by day.

Then one day he and his brother,Luigi, were working in the pipes,
When they saw something that would surely give them a fright.
It was a little creature with a shell of green.
This was surely something they'd never seen.
So they decided to follow it into a hole,
And down through it they both went with a "Whoa"
So down they went, through the passage long and dark.
Then suddenly Luigi said, "I think I have to fart".
This would be enough to make them both pass out,
But no one says wow.

So one day from a deep sleep they awoke,
And with a great gasp they said,
"Thank goodness we aren't dead."
They started to adventure around
While realizing this wasn't a moment to frown.
They later encountered a princess with a smile,
And Mario began to think about it for awhile.
She said there were problems and needed their help.
There was King named Koopa on the loose,
And he was terrorizing things with a great big swoosh!
So off they went to look searching inch by inch
When all of a sudden they began to pick up an awful stinch.
They found it was the king they were looking for.
It was nothing now but war.
They fought him day and night
Hoping that all would turn out right.
It was a long battle for just the two
Making everyone who watched say "Whoo!"
They finally defeated him with final hit,
And he relized the Mario Bros. were to smart to outwit.
They returned to the princess awaiting their reward
Hoping for something more than a song in one accord.
The princess rewarded them with a big cake
That took her many hours to bake.
They enjoyed it the three of them.
Then Luigi stood up and said,
"I bet this cake would be better with Spam."

So now you the story of two great heroes,
Who stood up to fight a great big king.
While using nothing but their skills to fight Koopa,
And charming the princess with their bling.
