You really must play SMRPG. It's pretty good.

It's pretty good, but but M&L and PM were a bit better, in my opinion. SMRPG was too much Square, and not enough Nintendo. It was also made at a time when the stuff that made a Mario game were very specific and the story and characters weren't important, which is why Square had to fill that void on their own. Thus, it wasn't as refined as the stuff in PM and M&L, which came from Nintendo themselves, in a time where the personality of the characters and plot elements are already determined, making it easier to produce a spot-on, Mario-based game.

Many haikus that have something to do with your computer crashing.

Your file was so big.
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.

The Web site you seek
Cannot be located, but
Countless more exist.

Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

Program aborting:
Close all that you have worked on.
You ask far too much.

Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that.

First snow, then silence.
This thousand-dollar screen dies
So beautifully.

With searching comes loss
And the presence of absence:
"My Novel" not found.

The Tao that is seen
Is not the true Tao-until
You bring fresh toner.

Stay the patient course.
Of little worth is your ire.
The network is down.

A crash reduces
Your expensive computer
To a simple stone.

Three things are certain:
Death, taxes and lost data.
Guess which has occurred.

You step in the stream,
But the water has moved on.
This page is not here.

Out of memory.
We wish to hold the whole sky,
But we never will.

Having been erased,
The document you're seeking
Must now be retyped.

Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.

That's the part of SMRPG that amazes me most. For 1996, the plot and story were thought out so well. Square was risking Mario's reputation by giving him the personality that has stuck with him since then--the strong, silent type. Yes, PM:TTYD has the best story EVER, but PM's story is just BLAND compared to SMRPG.

CTOAN: Those are great. Had those been posted while I was still in shool, I'd tack them to the computer room wall at school.

I still think the plot was a bit too Square-ish. And I thought Nintendo based Mario and Luigi's personalities on their cartoon incarnations.

CTOAN: XD  Sad but funny.

Okay... now that I think of it, I think "loser" was a bit harsh. "Buddy" is much nicer.  I love SMRPG but I also love Paper Mario 2 and there are some aspects of the game that I think are better than RPG.  And I bet that the other ones are great too. (However I still like the 3 person battles and the special attacks)  I hope that will be a game you can download on the Wii.  I bet it could be rated E10+ because of the innuendo. :(

Wii will, Wii will rock
you.  Rock you.  Wii will, Wii will
rock you.  Rock you.  Uh!

Off the top of my head...

Once upon a time
There was a guy named Knifey
He sure liked his knife

Ow, it really hurts
When I type this haiku. Why?
I broke my finger

I really did break my finger the other day. Someone threw a baby doll at me.
