Mario Chat / Re: Creeping Graphical Sameyness
« on: September 10, 2011, 08:21:33 AM »
Another game I'm reminded of that I've noticed this with is Mario Kart. Compare the mushroom item in MKW to the mushroom art from Double Dash.

Sorry, I can't find a decent screenshot of Double Dash with the mushroom, so I'll just add this, which is actually what it looked like for both Double Dash and MKDS.

Also, may I just say that I miss these little guys?

Video Game Chat / 3DS Ambassador Program
« on: August 31, 2011, 07:31:51 AM »
I just felt it was my duty as a fellow early 3DS adopter to inform you all that the Ambassador Program   games are now available in North America! Well, the ten NES games, at least. Yes, it's true. Go to 'Settings/other' in your eShop, click on 'Your Downloads', and scroll down to see all the NES games availble for 'redownload'. Now, this obviously won't work if you aren't qualified for the AMbassador Program, just to warn you. ;)

Oh, and the significance in this is that Nintendo said that he games were being released tomorrow.  Then they decide to surprise us like this.

Video Game Chat / Re: Sonic Adventure
« on: June 26, 2011, 01:40:32 AM »
Sonic Adventure DX and its sequel used to be one of my brother's favorite games on the gamecube, and every time I watched him play it, he looked like he was having so much fun. So, naturally, I tried it out also. But what I found was honestly the exact opposite of fun. The mediocre graphics (good for the time, even better than SM64), just didn't age well, the crappy voice acting, (what else did I expect from a Sonic game), the annoying platforming, a mixed with meh level design, and sloppy controls made the game a chore to play, and I didn't even beat the second 'level'. The sequel's opening level was much more exciting than anything I'd seen in the original game, but the rest of the game (at least what I played before I quit) was quickly plagued with more of the same problems from the first game. I'll admit the music was catchy,  but i wasn't about to play through a game like these just to hear music that I could listen to hassle free online.
But if you're a big enough Sonic fan, I do think you could get some enjoyment out of it, especially for five bucks, but since you said you didn't really like the sequel, i would advise you not to get it, because the sequel basically improved on just about everything from the firsy, and still didn't get it right. So no, don't buy it.

The toddler boss at the end of Area 1 in particular always creeped me out, lol.

A little bit of Pikmin 2 with a side of Luigi's Mansion topped with The World Ends with You. And for dessert, Ocarina of Time 3D and Dragon Quest V. Bon apetit.

Okay, okay, you got me...
I refuse to play Luigi's Mansion at any time other than night because the first time i played it was at night when I was little, and it scared me so much. That's pretty much the only reason I was ever scared of the dark. of course, when I play it now, I don't find it too frightening, but when i play it at night, sometimes I can still get that good (scary) feeling.

The models from last year.

Naw, in all seriousness, I want Pikmin 3, a new Metroid(2D or Prime series), the TWEWY sequel to be for 3DS, more info on DQX, Kid Icarus, a 3DS version of Wind Waker, and the Phoenix Wright Professor Layton crossover game. Is that too much to ask for? D:

Do you think the 3DS graphics engine will be capable of giving Tanooki Mario an enormous scrotum with realistic bouncing physics?
err, probably.
But think of the children. D:
