Title: Help with Chatroom
Post by: HolyAarom on February 11, 2006, 04:55:00 PM: OK, I'm thinking of going to the chatroom, I have to ask, what does the + mean when it's next to certain members?

Also, can I have a breakdown of how I should act in the chatroom?

@ = Op
% = Half-op
+ = Voice

Ops and half-ops have "powers"; Voice is pretty much just a status symbol. The only thing special about it is they can still "talk" when mode +m is on (when the chatroom is muted and regulars can't talk).

Pretty much follow the same rules and guidelines as the forums.

And please, for the love of Pete, do NOT ask, "what's going on?" or "what's everyone up to?" or "why is no one here?" or something similar. Those lines are SO annoying and n00bish.

I made my chatroom debut a couple of days ago. Wait for a few messages go by before responding so you know what the current topic is. If no one's saying anything, say something. It's pretty cool, funny things happen. Like:

<Suffix>: Try again, Bird Brain.

In fact, I'm opening the window to go there right now.

Post by: Sapphira on February 26, 2006, 08:39:39 PM: No. Bans are permanent...well, unless someone unbans you. A kick just "kicks" you out of the chatroom. You can always rejoin. Most people are set to auto-rejoin when kicked, too.
