So, I got shipped a second UMD drive. Which wasn't a big deal, as I was just going to send it back...

But then I woke up a few minutes ago and saw I had an email telling me my order was shipped and one saying they had charged me for it.

So now I've been charged for something I didn't order. I did find their returns process, but even though I ordered the item from their US warehouse, the returns address is their Hong Kong address. Unless they tell me I can return it to their US address, it'll cost me more to return the item than it would to just keep the [darn] thing.

Yeah. The disc drive. Mine died a few months back, so I ordered a replacement. That's what I had been posting about here, too. (And I still haven't finished that because I've been busy with work and 360 stuff.)

This is the one I got (and it works great), but it's for a slim 360. I don't know if there's one like it available for the standard model.

Aaaand it seems the initial sixteen dollars for a replacement UMD drive was a waste as well - I got the system put back together today, and it still couldn't read UMDs (though at least it still boots up and plays games from memory stick, which is a step up from when I tried to replace the shell on my old DS).

I'm waiting to see if Sony announces any sort of solution for the Vita's lack of a UMD drive before I decide whether I want to buy another PSP or just pirate all the games I already own (which I'm doing in the meantime anyway).
