To say religion is nonsense is indirectly critical of everyone who believes in one. As "Mario games are terrible," would indirectly insult the taste of everyone who enjoys them.

It would suck if someone you knew decided to think you were an absolute moron. You go to tie your shoe, they chuckle softly and do it for you. They talk down to you, explain everything slowly, and see you as nothing but a child. Would you ever want to be aroind them any more? You no doubt think of youself as an intelligent person, but you're seen as some helpless fool.

But you also have to ask yourself if those beliefs are worth having. Religion is more than just a taste as opposed to liking Mario games.

EDIT: On a side note, my dad who is ill with prostate cancer is going to have to go in for radiation therapy (starting tomorrow) for 9 weeks. Even so, that's not going to get him much more than a few years.

But the first reaction in a situation like this isn't "Hmm am I right in thinking/feeling what I do," it's "What a dick that guy is being." Doesn't matter if you're right or wrong. It's behavior like that what makes people think all atheists are angry elitists.

Many people do and come to the conclusion that they are. Not everyone is some brainwashed fool who can't think for themselves and is waiting for you to liberate them from the dangerous and oppressive threat of Religion.

Even saying that, supposing that attempting to get people to reevaluate their beliefs (every time the topic comes up) was actually your intention, then don't you think calling it "nonsense" or another derogatory word is much less effective than respectfully explaining your point?

Also, I wish you and your family my best. Going through something like that is never easy, and hope you can have as much time with him as possible.

I don't hate the name, but did you honestly think the name Revolution was going to stick?

Wii U isn't a bad name either. My only complaint: what does the U stand for?
