According to the Oculus website the specs are:

      • NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
      • Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
      • 8GB+ RAM
      • Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
      • 2x USB 3.0 ports
      • Windows 7 SP1 or newer

      Me:
      • I have an MSI AMD R9 270 OC Gaming Edition with 2GB GDDR5 with Twin Frozr, but that isn't enough.
      • I have an Intel Core i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10HZ.  Again, not enough.
      • I have 16 GB RAM.  So I'm good here.
      • Hmm.  I'm not sure the HDMI version on my video card?
      • I have 2x USB 3.0 ports, but haven't tested their speed.
      • I'm running Windows 10 Preview which is technically greater, but from my experience may not work...

I failed.  How do you compare?

I think I just fail the graphics card. I forgot what it is, but it's not great.

I bet I could actually still work with the Rift though, since my interests lie more in playing older games in VR, rather than playing newer ones.

I just got the GTX 970 delivered yesterday, along with a better processor and the requisite 8GB of RAM.  Apparently, just barely.

I got a 750 Ti, whoops

That's okay though, I'm not chomping at the bit to get a Rift, although I do want one and think it's super cool. Maybe either when I get one I'll at least be able to use it with particularly well-optimized games, or I'll upgrade my graphics card again near the same time?

Actually, I'll just say my laptop wouldn't be fit either.

1. Cruddy integrated graphics
2. Intel® Bay Trail-M Dual Core Celeron N2830 2.16 GHz ~ 2.41 GHz Processor - idk what this means but it probably sucks
3. 4 GB
4. Probably. I think HDMI is on 1.4 by now
5. 1x USB 3.0
6. ChromeOS/Ubuntu 14.04

But this is why I have a desktop for new games, and this for emulating stuff (It can run Mario 64 pretty well, but anything beyond N64 will not work) and the occasional flash game/other low power game.
