That Mario ASCII looks totally awesome if you highlight it in Firefox.

Mario 64 backgrounds are... not very Mario-y.

Wait a minute, weren't you the one who contested exactly what a "Mario character" looks like? How come the same doesn't apply to environments? Hmmm?

Did I? I cannot recall.

At any rate, they're kind of eerie when removed from the levels. According to the Wiki, Wet-Dry World's background is a photograph of a town in Spain.

He's not green and his name's not Marty. If you play the game on 150cc, that cage is open and he's out there with the other Thwomps.

That is a lie. The cage is never open. The lighting makes him look green, though..

It's not a lie, just the strangest lapse of memory I've ever had.

I just put the game on, and although there are indeed more Thwomps on the floor on 150cc, the green one is still behind that cage! Yet for some reason I have a recollection of that cage being open at some point. It's also worth noting that he looks identical to the other Thwomps in 'Mario Kart Wii', so he's probably not actually green. It probably is just the lighting.

This is like that time I remembered being able to read the "L is real" sign in the courtyard. It's amazing how time can garble your memories.

Finally saw The Wizard. It's definitely not a great movie, but it made me smile a lot.

I finished watching Moral Orel all the way through yesterday.

I implore everyone to watch it all the way through. It starts out as a wacky comedy, gets some more depth over time, and eventually evolves into a god[darn] masterpiece.

I'm typing this post from Windows 3.11. I installed it on a virtual machine for fun, because I am a filthy, filthy nerd. The most "modern" browser I could get to run on this ancient Roman adding machine is Internet Explorer 5, which renders pages... interestingly. It doesn't do Flash or Java, and has some issues with Javascript. Attached is a screenshot of this thread. It took me a good hour to find a way to convert it from BMP format, which is all that this version of MS Paint can create. Is this how old people feel?

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to create some vaporwave or something.

I'm sure the main site works fine, seeing as it's a site from 1997.

Or one of the old splash pages... If you know where to see them.

I actually did look at the main site, as well. A bunch of the images don't load, such as the "featured" images (in the pipe graphic on the main page), and I'm not entirely sure why. The old splash pages worked well enough, except for, again, an image here or there not displaying.

At work I found myself in the absurd situation of having to figure out what the acronym 'LD' stood for in an inscrutable product listing.

(Turned out to be Lego Dimensions)
