Title: TMK's Art Museum: Show us your stuff!
Post by: Yoshisaurus Rex on August 31, 2006, 07:29:27 PM
Inspiration has spoken to me yet again... but what will come of it now?  Just how unique shall this topic be of present?  Who shall approve of it and who shall reject?  I am torn between brightest joy and bleakest dread from the possibilities that may arise forth of my keystrokes.  Have I erred on my part that I shall regret for the better of my dear life?  Who cares?

Oh yeah... this is about art, not poetry.  Have you ever made a great work of art?  It can be anything from clay, pottery, sculptures, paintings, and drawings to quilts, creative music, lego structures and anything else that society will somehow accept.  Show us pictures of what you made and tell us all about it, or just tell us if you can't get pictures.  It doesn't even have to be good, it can just be rediculous (like the leaning tower of cheese-a!)  I'm excited to see what you have to show.  "I'm excited!  Are you excited?!  I'm excited!"

There's a plumber on my cake!  http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=7732.msg428303#msg428303 (http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=7732.msg428303#msg428303)

Btw, what can count as real art will be up for debate.  Leave me it out of it. XD

Those are all really fun to draw.  Anyways, I hope I'm not doing wrong by posting these here... <_<... but I don't have any more art capable of being shown... <_>
(And, if you would like to view them, make sure that you scroll it up to fast speed).

Wow.  I'm kinda jealous!  But why did you have to kill Tingle?!  He didn't deserve it!!

Now it is time for... a random story about Legos. When I was a kid, I loved to play with Legos.  We had a giant bucket of them and I would dump them across the floor and spread them out to find things faster.  I loved to build marble mazes--little structures that you could tilt to make a marble move around it.  Just take one lego platform, stick a bunch of long 4-piecers on it to make walls, make a two-piece gap between them, and you're set for endless fun!  I made paths, bridges, ramps, two- and three-story structures, and even manual eleveators!  That had to be one of my favorite childhood memories, and it taught some things about myself. (This is why I got so upset when someone made fun of Legos here XD)

I also used to enjoy drawing Mario and DKC characters too, even though I wasn't very good.  A couple years ago I made a drawing that I really liked and is still my favorite.  It's a picture of SMRPG characters on a letter sent to Nintendo Power (and scanned it before I sent it so I still have the copy today)  I intended to put this up in SMB Info Station, but put it off forever.  But now... ladies and gentlemen... here it is!

Some parts of this picture I'm not happy with.  I should have made Yaridovich's tail longer, Smithy's hammer face the other way, not make Mario have cross eyes, and make the G on RPG bigger, etc.  And what's with that black star I drew?  Besides those things, I really like this.

Did Nintendo ever get that letter?

Any art in any form? Lessee what I can dig up.
Lego Luigi and a Mushroom (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/Legos.JPG)
Some awesome geography homework (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/g30gr4phy.jpg)
Paper Mario on my DS (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/PaperMario.gif)
Pac-Man Moon Pie (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/Pac-MoonPie.JPG)
SMB Castles (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/Castles.jpg)
Flagpole Screw-up (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/Flagpole.jpg)
Jumping too Hard (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/JumpingTooHard.jpg)
I now realize some errors in my TMK map up there--the latitude/longitude lines are backwards, and degrees in geography are a LOT further apart than half a mile. Oh well, school is for learning.
By the way, I plan on making a Mario cap soon. This weekend, if possible. I need to find that old red hat...

MaxVance: Yep, they did!  I just scanned the letter before I sent it so I could keep the copy.  I also did a bunch of other letter artwork too but it's not as good.

Bird Person: Nice lego work!  I should have tried to make those things.  Maybe it's not too late.

Ah, that's what's inside the castles!  I thought that there was a bed in there and he just took a nap.  Or maybe it was a big porta potty because he had to go so frequently. XD

I have a very comical (and well drawn, in my opinion) picture of Wario I drew a week ago. If anyone could give me instructions on how to post it (I'm computer deficient) I'll show it to you guys.

You can press the edit button (the little pencil at the top) on your post. Once you get to the page, you'll see "additional options" at the bottom of the post. Click on it and press browse, pick your file, and press 'save'.
Title: Re: TMK's Art Museum: Show us your stuff!
Post by: Yoshisaurus Rex on September 01, 2006, 10:43:12 PM
Sure.  Just edit your post, click on additional options, browse your computer for the picture, make any changes so it will work (like switch it to JPEG), and there you have it!  If your picture isn't on your computer you probably want to scan it, take a digital picture, or push it into the screen with all your might.

Edit: Man, she beat me to it while I was still typing!  Foiled again.

I need to stop returning here so quick. *walks out of the museum*

I can't answer answer that one! Maybe you could upload it onto photobucket.com (make an account there) because photobucket always sizes down your pictures. Or just upload it onto imageshack.us and type in your message <img src="type url here">.

Not really. Open the sprite in MS Paint, zoom to 8x, switch on grids, and you can see each pixel separately. They're really cool to have, so fire away. The Mushroom is 2 blocks thick because the only single-block yellows I have are eyeballs, and at that there are only, like, two... which are Luigi's buttons, at any rate. Currently, the Mushroom is intact, but Luigi's arm is lost somewhere in my artistically messy room (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/filth.JPG).
P.S... you'll notice these are all hosted on http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com. That's where I put all my junk, if you're curious.

Post by: BP on September 02, 2006, 12:32:44 AM
I used to do a lot of stuff with clay but haven't for some three years now... and I don't have anything I did anymore... To be honest, a lot of it sucked (I was 11, you think my art skills were any better than they are now? XP) but clay stuff... oooh.
I'll more than likely make something Mario-related in wood shop this year... Or maybe a DS. I don't know, I should probably keep it simple and do a Starman.

You could edit the picture with Windows Paint.  Open the picture for editing, click on "Image" near the top of the window, click "Stretch/Skew", and then select the size you want.  I would rename it if you want to save this and keep the old one too.

Reszing scanned images = FAIL. If they're JPEGs there shouldn't be a problem... Jumping Too Hard, for example, is 960 x 1422 pixels, and is only 148 tiny little KB.
However, color might be a factor... But yeah, just open them in something and save as JPEG.

This (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/justice.jpg) has been done several times, but I had to do it myself.
The scanner kind of messed with it, making it JUST black and white, cropping it...
Edit: That thing Link is stomping on is Navi.
Edit II: Check this out (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/MarioCap.JPG). And this (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/Its-aMe.JPG), too.
Edit 3: Yeah, the M is a little off-center. Oh well, I think it's adequate.

Title: Re: TMK's Art Museum: Show us your stuff!
Post by: BP on September 07, 2006, 06:08:30 PM
Yes, I play my N64. Yes, I used those pliers to make the hat--I started with a hat with one of those annoying logos on it (I forgot what it said because, well, I don't really care what ag company is giving free hats to people). I pulled out the threads what made up the logo until there was enough off that nothing but the M would be visible. I used a compass (geometry-type one) to make a faint outline of a circle with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches on a white shirt that doesn't fit me and never got moved from my closet to the massive pile of trash bags full of clothes that are supposed to go to goodwill but never make it out of the storage room. I sew the white circle on and look in my closet for an unused red shirt. I see none so I check the goodwill mountain for one. Sure enough, it's right at the top of the first bag. So ding, I'm done. I could use it on Halloween or something else.

For some reason, I really like Vivian's hair in that drawing. Maybe it's because it reminds me of Dairy Queen...
The best thing about it for me, though, was that I'm doing another run-through of Paper Mario, and today I saw the virtual equivalent of that.

No kidding.  I loved the pirate theme, fast-moving action, barrel cannon challenges, animal buddies, rollercoaster races, the sword boss Kleever, secret levels, and sweet music.  I think I beat that game at least 3 or 4 times.  If there was sequel to that game that played just like it, I would get it right away.  I hope that it will be exactly the same on the virtual console.

Yes and yes.  I own all 3 of the DKCs and DKC2 is my favorite.  I meant that I want a sequel that "feels" just like 2 and has Diddy and Dixie but new levels and bosses.  DKC2: The Lost Levels!

At first I didn't understand why people are getting so upset, but if it was me I might feel the same way.  If I keep this up, I'll have plenty of new enemies in no time! *quickly scribbles something down in a handy dandy notebook*

I've got a new one! More than one, actually.

And these are some collaborations I've done. I drew none of them. Only colored.

Wow, I like the form of Peach in the Trapped picture.  I find it hard to draw natural body positions.

Haha, this^ is a play-off of the widely-known "Wicked" poster.

I think it would be cool if we made a entire TMK picture. Everyone of the forums could contribute. We could make it on ArtPad and post it up again after anyone adds something to it, seeing that you can keep adding things to pictures.

ME!  I mean... you could have the TMK staff hanging around and atop of the letters TMK.  And maybe dress them up as Mario characters.  Was this what you're talking about?  Whatever, you can forget that idea.  It's not very good.

What about the Nintendo Wii?  Or people playing the Wii? :D I could go for that. (But it's your choice)  I think everyone who works on this picture should sign their name on it too.

Great work as usual, everyone!

I guess we could draw something that we like. Or one of us could draw a huge Wii and we could all do something to it. Signing our names is good, too. Whoever likes that idea, say I with your next post. Who can draw a Wii?

Can You Percolate?

Hopefully it's one of these meanings...

–verb (used with object)
1.   to cause (a liquid) to pass through a porous body; filter.
2.   (of a liquid) to filter through; permeate.
3.   to brew (coffee) in a percolator.
–verb (used without object)
4.   to pass through a porous substance; filter; ooze; seep; trickle.
5.   to become percolated: The coffee is starting to percolate.
6.   to become active, lively, or spirited.
7.   to show activity, movement, or life; grow or spread gradually; germinate: Interest in the idea has begun to percolate.
–noun
8.   a percolated liquid.
[Origin: 1620–30; < L perc?l?tus, ptp. of perc?l?re to filter. See per-, colander, -ate1]

Thios is a strange kind of wood. I don't know what it is. I used regular pine first but the grain threw off the tool I was using and it looked all jerky so I started over. I got an A on this and it cost 50 cents to take it home.
Edit: It's the WarioWare Bomb, accompanied by one of Wario's quotes (borrowed by Mona, also).

*sigh* The computer was being PMS-y and I didn't get a chance to save the entire paper. Instead, I got stuck with only the top left part. The best of this was in the middle of the page too. Oh well, I'll leave this up until I can properly scan the entire thing again.

I have the same trouble with my scanner.

BP's carving also reminded me of the Eggman mask I made in sculpture this year. I'd show you guys, but I'd need a digital camera first.

Mr. Wiggles: Graph paper!! I don't know who half the people in the picture are, but excellent Link and upper two-thirds of Dexter.
Pirate: You made that? Awesome! And welcome back.
donotcare: Wood costs money. The stool I made was free unless you count the time and agony I wasted and went through to make it right.
About scanners: my mom's got a scanner... she never needs it though, I wish she'd get a new printer and let me have hers. I don't have any problems with it (unless the automatic function scans it only in black and white and nothing in between, creating an MS-paint-looking rendition of whatever's been scanned. Manual > auto.

Notice: This was taken from the prettiest possible angle, and no, that's not one block of wood carved. Four N's, each with most of the left side (or right when viewed upside-down) removed, in a way that when glued to the side of a board, its thickness would make up for what was removed. In the photo you can see a line on the right side. You can also see a couple of spots of glue I missed- the stuff should be blue so it's easier to spot and sand off. Also, I accidentally sanded the sides against the grain instead of with it--as a result, the lines from the sander can be seen.

The reason wood shop projects are coming from me as if from a faucet: the first thing I tried to make was a bread box, which infuriated me after several failures and chance disasters. Then I made the stool everyone else made and succeeded (coming close to just giving up). Now I can make whatever I want for grades (I think I'll try asking if I can make a boomerang once again), and so I make easy things to get fast A's. Also, I'm not taking the class next year, so I must get what I can out of it before summer.

Or just do it with the print screen on the preview and paste that into paint and then edit out our picture into another untitled document in paint.

But that's just plain time-consuming.

Oh yeah, I also have this little scrap that I have no idea what to do with since I didn't mean to scan it and it wasn't even finished. So I leave it here for you guys to view, complete with erasor marks and sketchy mistakes.

Nothing really Mario-based right now, but maybe it'll change soon enough. Just some of my pieces I'm relatively proud of here.

I'm worried about the placement of Yoshi's head in the one on the right. Is his neck broken, or is he so evil that he can rotate his head that far?

Did I draw it on a place mat? Oh heavens, no. Twas a type of paper I was using. It's actually really nice, expensive, think, almost card stock-like paper. Is there a problem with it being hosted there? Because seriously, laying all jokes aside, I couldn't upload it to imageshack. It was too big.

It looked like a place mat to me because of the raised grid-like thing on the paper. I didn't know paper like that existed-- for drawing on.

I work almost exclusively with colored pencils and markers, but I never use both media in one drawing. I occasionally dabble in other media, such as digital media or Sculpey-n-paints. I used pastels once, in an art assignment about sun designs, but that's about it.

I still have some of the original comics somewhere. Anyway, I made some new ones today during study hall...I'll probably scan them tomorrow.

The Undertaker, because he has a simple color scheme which wasn't too hard to recreate. (http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g16/MidgetBottle/ArtStuff/DahUndatakeh.jpg)

Anime styled girl because I didn't realize I had to do a second one after Taker was done. (http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g16/MidgetBottle/ArtStuff/Younggirl.jpg)

Beach Bum with a bad Coca Cola box because I couldn't remember the exact design. (http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g16/MidgetBottle/ArtStuff/BeachBum.jpg)

Woman with summer style clothes. Probably the best of this bunch. (http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g16/MidgetBottle/ArtStuff/SummerLady.jpg)

Normally, the kind of drawings I do are things like this:

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv45%2Finvader_bees%2Fomgchibibees.jpg&hash=0b6aabd8072320a39148163e0abec410)

But I have done a few realistic drawings.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/invader_bees/HPIM0106.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/invader_bees/HPIM0106.jpg) This is a cow skull. Just white and sienna colored pencils. (sorry about the flash spot)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/invader_bees/HPIM0100.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/invader_bees/HPIM0100.jpg) Pretty self explanatory, I think. The weird blue things are those meditation balls with the chimes.

So..that's that. Hope you guys like them!

For some reason the MS Paint spraypaint tool always brings me back to '91.

Thanks.  I like how the clouds turned out.  MS Paint is not my favorite program.  I wish my lappy had Photoshop, but that's expensive.

What I have this time isn't a drawing. Instead it's a clay figure that I made some odd years ago in art class. Anyone that has read the LAS should know who this is. And if you haven't, you'll at least know what it is.

(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv337%2Fn64chick%2Fclaypurpley.jpg&hash=8b65272822c89d4986e00770c13ed0f0)

Incidentally, it is just about the right size for my Luigi beanie to ride on even though I didn't have that in mind when I made it.

Anyway, here's my art for the day. Don't ask about its weirdness, okay?

D'oh!  I was debating whether it was Blacky, or a Yoshi that could potentially be painted a dark color.  I guess Purpley makes more sense, even though her purple looks more black in that picture.

Anyway, I had to dig through all my old posts to find these.

I don't suppose this counts as art...

I've already posted some of my artwork ; I'm pretty good with sprites too, so if you guys have any requests, I'll be happy to make one for ya. I just thought it was funny, and I put some work into it. Mario's pretty angry in this pic.  :)

I took 4 copies of Wario's arm and translated the colors accordingly. After that, I just thought up some funny scene.

(Just in case, credit goes to Frario and Starpower for Waluigi, Satoshi for Yoshi, Bacon for Wario and Mario+Luigi goes to the shirt ninja)

Title: Re: TMK's Art Museum: Show us your stuff!
Post by: BP on June 19, 2007, 08:52:01 PM
That's not because it's a JPEG. I cringed at its being a JPEG because sprites totally don't need to be JPEGs.
Edit: I have drawn something. (As per usual, click to view it full-size)
(https://themushroomkingdom.net/board/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg518.imageshack.us%2Fimg518%2F6548%2Fchefsmallfn2.jpg&hash=6bd8fa4ffa3a505b5168b0912f9346d1) (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/chef.JPG)
Edit again: This is Game & Watch Gallery 2: Modern Chef. Mario and Luigi prepare food, Peach cooks it on her ever-frying pan, and when it's done, Yoshi can eat it. Eating enough food will make Yoshi lay an egg, and eating more will make it hatch (maybe a symbol of time passing?). Feeding the baby Yoshi makes it grow, and the process repeats. Quick! Yoshi can't eat that raw chicken! Press B to turn around!!
Edit, last one, promise: Imagine that Luigi is humming the music that accompanies the game, if you know it.

/me slams his hands on the table
But still WHAT?
After rummaging through my files to see if I have anything to contribute, I think all I have is this... a comic about Captain Obvious. It's pretty old.
First page (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/captainobvious1.jpg)
Second page (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/captainobvious2.jpg)
My handwriting is illegible in places... in the last frame on the first page, the guy is saying "Gah! That Captain Obvious guy and weird old man... (whose name with which I am not familiar) are getting on my nerves!" The text on Professor Obscure's button says "Warp Button... possibly."
Too bad you can see through the paper...

I started with Totodile in Silver, but Cyndaquil seems kinda nice too.

Anyway, here we have one of my oldest screenies. Come to think of it, does anyone else think that a new topic for SSBM screenies should be made so this one can go back to its hand-drawn goodness?

I'll reword that:  That can eliminate a lot of fun and/or good artwork.  Honestly, who cares if the person had to use their digital camera to get their SSBM pics onto the computer?  As long as we can see the subjects, and the photographer gets to share what he or she caught with the pause feature, the capture card is pretty much just a nifty accessory for better quality images.  I'd like one, but I don't know how much they cost.

They are cheap. Honestly I can understand Deezer's wishes to have only capture card or better, because then they look good.

Cheaper than free.
And I have an idea... for Brawl, snapshots could be moved to an SD card or e-mailed, maybe. That way you'd have video capture-quality without a video capture card.

Title: Re: TMK's Art Museum: Show us your stuff!
Post by: Raccoon Sam on July 02, 2007, 03:36:34 PM
I tried FireWorks and it was naaaargh.
I didn't like it at all, and a friend of mine (http://rage28.deviantart.com/) said that if I need a vector arts tool, it must be Adobe Illustrator, hands down.
I'm hoping to get a tablet with the money I get off my summerjob, so I can start working on serious Animation business, maybe even getting a job at my aunt's advertising business. Nonetheless that's just future thinking, but in a nuthshell this post would be simply 'I didn't like FireWorks too much. I've been told to get Illustrator.'

Clearly pixelated images don't look good if they're JPEGs.
If You do more art like that, I suggest saving them either as PNG or TIFF.

Me too. I prefer drawing the old fashioned way, and I can't believe I live in a time where paper and pencil are old fashioned..

If I could get a scanner that works with my computer (cursed Windows Vista), then I could actaully contribute more to this topic than I am.

You know, you don't need to quote the entire post; just the relevant info is fine.

It wasn't supposed to be pixelated...
Art done in Paint (or using brushes with 100% hardness and opacity) = "pixelated"
Basically, anything with 256 colors or less should NEVER be saved as a JPEG or it'll be seriously warped. At LEAST save it as a GIF if you're not going to save it as a PNG. As a general rule of thumb, only save photographs (including edits/manips) and scans as JPEGs. Anything else go PNG.
(I save everything as PNG unless it has layers I want to preserve; images with tens of thousands of colors I tend to make a JPEG copy for intarweb space-saving purposes.) Lossiness = evil. D:

These are large, so I'll only link to them (don't feel like making a resize today).
I've probably said before, and I hope my talking about EarthBound isn't getting painfully old, but... I wish there'd be a DS remake of the game in 3-D. I'd buy it.
The homemade box art (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/ebds.jpg)
The sketch I used to make it (http://wheresdezzer.googlepages.com/ebsketch.jpg)
I wanted to motion blur the stars around Poo (PSI Starstorm) but that didn't work out.
When I brighten the image, I can see problems with it (the glow around Ness...), but my monitor is really dark so it looks fine. I'm sure all your monitors are brighter, so I'm hoping that doesn't stand out...
Edit: Oh, and this would be a PNG, but Google Pages likes to automatically convert it to JPEG. I... HATE... JPEGS!!!

No, I hadn't seen that yet. And seeing it now puts my little box to shame... It looks a lot better as a PNG, really (http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/3058/ebdsss7.png)! And I see an error in it, which I will now fix. A wandering mass of red pixels on the lower Mr. Saturn's whisker...
Edit: All right. Fixed the error. The error-free PNG is now here (http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/8605/ebdspngaz4.png)...
Edit 2: I knew something was missing. In what I hope is the final version (http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/6858/ebdsdoneoi8.png) I added the redness to Jeff's, Paula's, Poo's and Pokey's cheeks, as well as Jeff's freckles. I know I did that before but I must have started over and forgotten. I also made those two stars and Ness' shoe overlap the DS logo, as it would on a real game box.

It's the Paper Mario brothers! Luigi is ready and willing to fight, which is making Mario a bit aghast. In case you're wondering, I didn't just draw and cut-out... I drew each piece of them separately (arms, body, buttons, shoes, head, etc), cut them out, glued them together, added a sturdy backside from cardboard, and then propped them up on their own stands.

Yeah I did. Same with Mimi's face. BTW, I found my mom's hot glue gun, so I was able to update the Mimi model... she can now stand on her own: the legs are holding her up; and her legs are held together with glue, not tape. (see below)

I did not have any paper that was already colored. I used only index cards, markers, colored pencils, and permanent marker.

It's a box containing a faucet.

"You didn't tell me you were a secret villian Luigi!"

"That's Mr.L to you Mario!"

That is awesome Kojinka!

You're back, SushieBoy!  I actually did that Mr. L thing for the YouTubePoop.com forums

What's with Fracktail's antenna?

Well, it's from my SPM story, where I made all the characters into humans. The Fracktail you're talking about(dragon) is just an attachment to increase the humanoid Fracktail's already impressive power. Hey, I had to find some way to have the chapter 1 final boss battle make sense.

Your Fracktail pic reminds me of that LEGO Fracktail I built. I gotta take some more pictures so I can have a reason to develop the film.

In the meantime, I'll just show you guys this pic!

It's the SPM villians as Pokemon!

Count Bleck = Spiritomb
Nastasia = Misdreavus
O'Chunks = Slaking
Mimi = Ditto
Dimentio = G-type Unown

I might do more Pokemon SPM characters in the future, such as a Kricketune Merlon or a Rayquaza Fracktail. I wonder what character I could make Kecleon into...

Very clever, Area 64

For some reason, I'd like to see Mewtwo in a Count Bleck getup, but that's just me.  ^_^

Now for my art...

If the person that made the Super Paper Pokemon picture wanted to make another one, I think Butterfree would be a good Tippi replacement. I would draw it myself, but lack of art skills prevents me..

If anyone wants more SPM-themed artwork...

Count Bleck (http://www.hiddenscepter.com/countbleck.png)
Tippi and Count Bleck (http://www.hiddenscepter.com/tippiandbleck.png)
O'Chunks (http://www.hiddenscepter.com/o'chunks.png)
Peach and Mimi (http://www.hiddenscepter.com/peachandmimi.png)

Hand-drawn, scanned, and colored (that's why the lines are rather rough).

I've been thinking of this first one for a while, and finally Robert's sig had me do it. "In Soviet Russia, Yoshi rides YOU!!
And as I was making that, I finally realized what exactly a Yoshi would look like when not wearing shoes.

Edit: Yeah, I can draw more than just Yoshi, but he's all I feel like drawing as of late.

Heh, nothing wrong with drawing Yoshis, and you've made some pretty cute/amusing ones.

One point I'd like to raise in general, though:  Why are people still using this thread?
It was originally made in the general chat area so that there'd be a place to post artwork, but now there's a whole subforum for fan-made creations!  This little thread is suffocating all of the different pieces!
You guys can go ahead and make new threads when you've got something to show.  Nobody's gonna complain; that's what the subforum's for!

...Yeah, that's just been bugging me.
Title: Re: TMK's Art Museum: Show us your stuff!
Post by: BP on August 15, 2007, 12:24:58 AM
You're absolutely right. Though, having one topic per piece wouldn't be what I call ideal... it'd take a lot longer to browse, that's for sure... but, easier to look for exactly what you want to see. Perhaps this topic ought to be painstakingly split into categories, by style or subject?
Edit: Maybe each member should use his or her own thread?
Title: Re: TMK's Art Museum: Show us your stuff!
Post by: Fifth on August 15, 2007, 01:09:40 AM
Well, just use your judgment.
If it's something you're proud of or that you worked hard on, go ahead and give it its own topic.
If it's something smaller or quicker but still worthwhile, go ahead and group it with other like pieces, either in its own topic, or in a topic dedicated to your own art.
If it's something really small or decidedly not worthy of a new topic, go ahead and post it here.

...Or something like that.
Just don't confine it all to this little topic; there's a whole subforum out there, waiting to be filled with art.

So you mean I can post up an entire topic for my drawing of a stick man? And next day I can post up another topic with a stick man holding a ball on his right hand?

So today I got a sketchbook which I will be using an an art class I'm in this year. We got a list with 18 weeks on it and three entries under each week, and we have to draw one of them. If I ever get a scanner, I may scan and post some of it.

Mario! Keep the fluids in you mouth to yourself!

Heh, great picture!

Anyway, my tech class entered it's photoshop unit a couple weeks ago. As a final project, we had to take two images and edit ourselves into the picture. I guess the second one I made could count as a fan creation...

Check it out.

It's based on this (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/metroid/images/a/ae/Samus_Aran1_MP2.jpg) wonderful image of Samus. I used the quick mask, distort, perspective, brush/sample, clone stamp, blur and smudge tools to make it. What do you think?

Pretty neat, actually! The freshmen in our class that take Computer 1 photoshopped a picture of another classmate so it looked like he ruled over Denver, which I found hilarious given the classmate made to rule over the city.
