That makes two strikes (canceling Mario Mix and not answering an e-mail from MEGAߥTE). I wonder what their suicide stroke will be?

Production of this game has been discontinued. Some auctions for this game are going above $170 on eBay!

Really?! How did this come about? I'm really surprised. :o

Oh, so that's how it works, huh? (I'm referring to the Subject line.) Sorry, slow learner here.

General Chat / Will anyone actually SEE this? Ever?
« on: December 10, 2005, 07:39:07 PM »
I just watched a famous, somewhat old movie called A Christmas Story for the first time. About two-thirds into it, I thought of making a topic called "Let's See Your Tree," where we could post pics of our Christmas trees. Looks like Sapphira basically beat me to it, though. :::P (Might I get an alien smiley for that?)

Assuming I remember, I'll take a picture of our tree sometime after I get home and after we have a tree of which to take a picture.

Speaking of burning houses and trees . . .
Note: The linked video shows a fire department test that demonstrates how little time it takes for a burning, indoor tree to consume a room in smoke and flame.

I love it when Chup says something funny, and then that is immediately followed by some comment of Lizard's. You two just made my board-cruising session. Again. :)

Leeches suck.

My favorite thing about Christmastime is taking a break from leeches (I mean, life) and pretending for a two- or three-week period that everything is actually okay. The stuff I get, the food I eat, and the people I see are going to make me happy, and that's going to give me the motivation I need to make it through another year of unhappiness and (either figurative or literal) blood loss.

Actually, I'm not being entirely serious (I used to be, though).

I'm just comforted by the fact that I'm usually right.

Until just now, then, posting in here was something you hadn't done. So at least you (almost) gave us one thing.

Oh, and Sapph: There are two possible ways that I can think of. What I did was use Unicode, but one also could theoretically insert the smiley images with the image bbqcode[] simplified everything equals nothing equals everything easy easy boy this is [ F ] [ U ] [ N ] stupid command system. In theory.

I just read the following interesting words in my Linguistics textbook:

Quote
Ask the average person to name a dead language, and he or she is likely to mention Latin. In fact, Latin did not really die at all. Rather, it evolved over a period of centuries into French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Rumanian, and the other modern-day Romance languages.

Contrast this with the situation of Manx, a Celtic language indigenous to the Isle of Man, a small island midway between Ireland and Great Britain. Its last speaker, Ned Madrell, died in 1974. Just one hundred years earlier, 12,000 people had spoken Manx. Now no one does. Manx didn't just change over time; it simply ceased to be spoken.

Nice job, Sapph! In some form or another you got everything that I felt to be worth noticing, plus a few others. I'm impressed.

Well, and I'm glad that we mutually see what a sham such message boards as that one are in comparison to what we have here. In how much more perfect of an environment could that single post of mine have appeared? Not any better, I would think, which means either that I got lucky or that the chances of being surrounded by such content-free material are pretty high in a place like that.

P.S. I still don't know how to control the smileys here.

I don't understand this place. Currently I'm unable to post an inline image, but feel free to follow the following URL to see what I did in my music theory class today:

EDIT: Can it be seen now?
