Whats with the light blue clay on the back? Either way, its rather good. Don't let it eat you while you're looking at it.

Oh, I was trying to simulate the shading of those anime-ish eyes he has. I think we had to use X amount of colors, also.

And, yeah, sorry, I forgot to explain why his mouth is so, uh, agape: We had to make a "pitch-pot creature", which is to say, we had to basically make a cross between a bowl and an animal.

I initially mistook your Kirby for a sculpture of a cranial bisection, an assumption which was reinforced by the thread's title.

But great work nonetheless. It would be an honour to eat from such a bowl.

I wasn't aware ShadowBrain is into vore.

Should I be surprised?

A Zelda pot I made in pottery. I didn't turn out like I wanted it to, but that's hardly a new result.

And, as promised previously, from last year's Halloween costume... a Bomb:

Actually, that pot looks kinda neat.  Also, did you use a Christmas Tree ornament for your bomb?

Awesome stuff! You'd have gotten extra points for the bomb if you had actually filled it with some flammable substance, though.

Well, I fantasized about cutting the craft ball (that's what the body is) in half, putting in a small firecracker for the fuse, regluing it, and lighting and throwing the thing at some point, but there were just too many potential safety issues there. Hey, I can always man up and try it someday, though.

More pottery! This time, a box I labored over for some time, with each side being a different kind of Mario block. Yes, you may notice some innacuracies, but I have a terrible photographic memory and that's what I went off of. However, I think the glowing side turned out excellent...

Actually, I didn't notice any inaccuracies.  Maybe I'm just ignorant too, but... in any case, nice work.

Good work. I didn't spot any glaring inaccuracies. I think the SMB side should be more orange, but that's just my OCD talking..

So what do the top and bottom sides look like? Have you/are you going to decorate them? My suggestion for the underside would be a dark blue colored ?-block (as seen in SMB, New SMB, and New SMBW), and the top side be either a dice block (to represent the Mario Party series) or just leave it alone (so you can tell which way is up on the awesome box).

The only discrepancy I can pinpoint is that the bricks should be rectangular, not square. But still, that box is so awesome that it probably contains the cure for cancer.

I think the exclamation point should be white, but yeah, that's pretty sweet. I don't know why it never occurred to me to make Mario stuff in my 8th grade pottery class.

A tsuchinoko is a mythical snake. You can find one in Metal Gear Solid 3 if you meet certain conditions.

You can also find one in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Equipping its soul makes store items cost less.

Funnily enough, both of these are Konami games...

So what's the difference between a tsuchinoko and a normal snake, then?

It's proportionally wider and doesn't actually exist, for starters.

I thought the difference was they were pretty stubby and had an almost triangular body--along with myriad mystical properties, of course.

Well, the art does look triangular... but I doubt it's magical, to be honest.

On the contrary, they're every bit as magical (and fictional) as tanukis and kappas. According to Google Images, they are indeed depicted as being "stubby", but not very often triangular.

I don't recall kappas being magical, although they are indeed mythical.

What's the point of being mythical if you can't be magical?

EDIT: For once, actual drawings! It's been a long time since I've scanned something (ease was one issue, but my dad got a new printer for his birthday last week), so go easy on me.

Just to clarify, the alligator is a reference to an in-joke between my brother and I over the fact that Mario will say something that sounds like "It's an alligator!!" when he's in a bubble. Also, "Hey, Joe!", but I wasn't up to drawing Hendrix). Also, the top of the page got cut off, but you can probably guess what Mario's thought bubble said.

I'm not the greatest artist and the overall clarity is questionable, so excluding the explanations I gave for the first doodles, questions are going to answered on a case-by-case basis.

This is a mask I made based on my terrible photographic memory's concept of a halved Majora's Mask, with some project-mandated frills. I wasn't incredibly pleased with the end result, but the teacher put it on display in the district office so someone must've liked it. I plan on adding some cloth tendrils eventually...
