Well lets take this into total consideration and examine all aspects of the the stuation.Mario can jump realy high fly turn into a suit of armor shoot fireballs from his hand swing a hame punch people and eat pasta.Sonic can run realy fast.

Mario, without a doubt.  There's a reason why he's called Super Mario.

yeah but if sonic has all the Chaos Emeralds and becomes Super Sonic mario simply has no chance.

Super sonic would win super mario.But normal mano to mano, i think mario, unless sonic slices him, ouch.

Lets not only think about strenth lets think about experience.Mario has [bundle of sticks]hten turtles mushrooms with fangs and a Giant snapping turtle dragon thing.Sonic has faught robot versions of every weapon and animal in the world.In the way of powering up,Sonic can turn golden and float and distroy anything that gets in his way,Mario gets bigger and mabey metal. All and all I think the great meta Knight from the Kirby series would win.
