Which of these three Mario games is the best Mario game ever made?

Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario 64

I personally like all of them, but my all time favorite is: Super Mario Bros. 3!

I only got into gaming in the SNES times
so I did not play SMB3 when it was "fresh".I have finished it though (the All Stars version). I thought that SMW was a better game (it was less linear).
Of the games you mentioned SM64 is my favourite.

BTW why does everybody think that SMB3 was the best?

It just always stood out to me as the best. The original version of course. I don't like the allstars version as much. But the game had lots of stages,new items,many secrets, and just the whole works. Besides it really showed what the nes could do. And i like it just a little more then Super Mario World which is my second fav mario game. But mario 3 was always and always will be my favorite mario bros game.

Come on man. Super Mario Bros 3 is the greatest of all time. World is just missing somthing just can't oput a finger to it tho

Yeah Deezer, SMB3 was my favorite and will always be :)
SMW is a great game! but it is my second favorite.

TRM: Compared to SMB3, Super Mario World is missing a lot... of power-ups. If it had the Hammer Suit, it would be perfect...
It's just that I liked being able to go back and play levels I'd already beaten. And the whole Yoshi thing was pretty cool too. :)

It seemed to me that the "Mario" games were getting better and better and then "Super Mario Bros. 3" was the best but it would get better. At first I saw "Super Mario World" (or "Super Mario Bros. 4" whatever you want to call it) as better than 3, but after playing them both in the same day at a friend's house I decided "3" was better. My concept of progressively better "Mario" games was completely destroyed when I bought "Yoshi's Island" (or "Super Mario Bros. 5" or "Super Mario World 2" dang this is confusing). "M4" was certainly a revolution, but threw out too many of the elements from "M3" to be superior. I have a certain conception of "Mario" mechanics that is present in "M1" "Lost Levels," "M3," and "M4" and the first two (the only ones I've played) "Mario Land" games but not in "M2," "M5," or "M64". That makes "Mario," and the games that have radically different mechanics are not as good. I hope "Paper Mario" has the "Mario" mechanics we know and love.

SMB DX.
I've been hoping for SMB3 DX but it dosen't look like it will come anytime soon.

I see all, hear all, and know all. (At least about SMB DX.)
